Hi Dan,Muneb and others,
I've contacted the SE customer service and the truth is this K700i only support 3gp format for the video. The preloaded MP4 is just for our viewing.when utransfer a vidoe file to ur PC,u really need a quicktime player to play it,just like Dan said.
To muneb, what is the name ofthe file to convert all those files?Doyou have a link where we all can download from d net?
To Dan,wow really 51mb??Something unexpected! But could i delete some of them so my memory will become more than 41mb?where can i find the engineering menu?Thanks...

      Hi Dawson. H and others..

Dawson soory icant help u regarding file conversion, cause i use a win 98,xp comp.
This phone has a total of 51mb( believe it or not) in it. of which 41mb is available to the user. We can check it out int he engineering menuu of the phone( hidden). Now..phones in various parts of the world, comes preloded with varied default picts, ringtones, and videos..that, obviously, takes up space. The phone plays .3gp and.mp4 formats. 3gp= lower file size, poorer quality picts and sound, .Mp4= larger file size, better video, sound quality. And a google search will get u tons of file coversion programmes.

        to muneb
i have uploaded many videos in mpeg4 format using mpegable X4 live, the size difference between 3gp and mp4 are slightly different. mp4 is a little larger than 3gp at the same bitrate but has a bit better picture and sound quality compared to 3gp. And yes the phone supports and plays both .3gp and .mp4 formats but can only record videos from the camera to .3gp

The phone supports 3GP format that I know for sure and I got a program that can conver almost any format (VCD, AVI, WMV, MP4, MOV, ) to 3GP. So far I have converted all those cool email attachment that play with Window media player (WMV) to 3gp and transfer them to my phone.. after converting the files are even smaller 3g. I converted 1.9Mb wmv to 321kb 3GP and it looks great on the screen, this phone is great learning someting new ever day. In terms of mpeg4 - (note the phone does not support mpeg) true the preinstalled vedio is in mpeg4 formate but I have not gotten a chance to convert anything in that formate to see if the phone will play it, but i do know that converting to mpeg4 takes up more room that 3Gp but mpeg looks much better. P:S I still have problems with battery life... average 1 day but I am a heavy user. What do I need to upgrade the sofeware in the phone - help any1

              Hi Dawson,
Well now i get it!:)This cell would not give u 100% of the free 41mb.Alright let's move to another topic, the CAMERA!
This K700i could support 1280X960 pixels. Are there any differents between the 640X480 and 1280X960 pixels?U see the extended mode takes about 75kb of the memory while the normal 640X480 mode only takes upto roughly 57kb.So there should be a differents by the 2modes.I've tested it using my friends mobile and the only different is the object is larger and most of the time "sharper"!So what do u guys think? Any owners of K700i done this before?Well it's just my 2cents....hehehe
Now some ppl saidthat this phone support 3GP format for the video andsome said its MPEG4......SO WHICH IS THE TRUTH???gotta have the real info man!!!!

The k700i DOES play the mpeg4 format, the video "kite" that comes preinstalled on the phone is an mpeg4 file

                  hey dan
yeah thats right the videos shot using K700i is stored in 3gp format as the cell supports it. it does open up using quick time player. but if i want to xfer videos from my comp to cell how do i do it. how do i convert any normal video to 3gp format on a MAC system that runs 10.3.7.
                  hey H
the phone comes with 39.9 MB free when purchased. the 1.1 MB goes for the default pictures stored in the cell including some ringtones, a video clip and games. some can be deleted. some are file protected. i deleted the ones which are not file protected and the memory available in mine is 40.8 Mb. this cell does not support the MPEG4 format.

U can play the clips , which are in3gp format using quicktime player, with a plugin that handles 3gp playback.

woouuu, thats mobile its the perfect comunication complement for people who dont have too much money and wants something good who makes his dreams really.every thing on k700i its good, and the only problem, the battery, i dont thing its it,..my experience demonstrate in my first charge that the mobile support intensive work(message,photos,videos,calls,..)during at least 3 days (of course i say intensive and not vicious all day ,every hour, every minute,...) so if when i charge next times i think it would increase the durability.also i thing that when in one month i dont touch mobile as much as now the battery increases to 5-6 days at least.SO...WHATS THE PROBLEM??...My balance is, that its a great phone, with a incredible screen, incredible camera, incredible spound in calls,...Its the best phone i had have.other problem that people say, its the not mmc card, well, with a computer and the posibility to every night to transfir the photos videos, etc and with 41 mg,...i thing other time...WHATS THE PROBLEM...People be really, its the best mobile in features and price in 3-5 years ago.

                              hi
i recently purchased K700 i. its a pretty good phone. wanted to know what was the latest firmware version which could improve the battery life as it is horrible. hardly lasts for a day. also wanted to know whether i can download a program so that video playback is possible meaning to say i could download vidoes.

really like the k700i. I had the nokia 6230 before, and in terms of battery i do think it was worse, about 2 days, and now I get bout 3-4 days (firmware does a lot into this, update it). The only thing I miss is the MMC card, but... the internal 41 mb in the k700 is bigger than the internal 9 mb (think it was) of the 6230, where the games go, and they can´t go in the MMc external card (I don´t like much phone games, but this is for the ones that they do) Calendar, anyway, is better in the 6230. As for syncing with Mac, the k700i does it, and the 6230 didn´t (bad Apple support, and bad Nokia support...). and for music, well, I´ve got an 40 GB iPod, so, as long as any cellular can´t hold that amount of music, well... don´t mind much bout it. I prefer to keep battery for calls.

No K700 in the market, just K700i. K700i video save as 3gp format. extended mode is just like a scretch of it real resolution 640x480 but with some improvement, u will still get a nice photo but dont compare it with real 1.3mp phone photos
