    To unknown,
I guess I'm lucky to get a k700i which does not have any of the major bugs complained by others. So nope I don't have the auto off and video dark problem. *Btw, when you record the video was it already dark? You can adjust the video light exposure using the + - buttons on the left hand side of the phone. Hope you can finally get a fully working k700 cause I myself love using this model.

As for the sms storage, I believe it is automatically saved to the phone. If you would like to save it to the sim you would have to open the sms message then -->more-->save message-->saved items. To view sims saved in the sim I think you can look up the saved items folder in the messaging menu. As for nokia phones I'm not too sure what model you're referring to. In Malaysia the next model release would probably be the Nokia6260 or an upgraded version of the 6230. IMHO I think among the current Nokia phones the better ones are the 6600, 6230 and 7610 in terms of funcionality and design.

Thanks for your response. I like the phone a great deal but i'm very disappointed by the keypad, which i can't seem to get used to. How do you save messages to the phone memory? Also - sorry about this - did i read somewhere that there is a new Nokia 66something coming out in October? I really don't think Nokia has made a decent phone since the 6310 but that - in its time -was great. I'd love them to bring out another hit. Like that. Any responses welcome.

Paul, seems that you might have received a faulty K700. I'm using an Asean model K700i for about 3 weeks; the SMS can be saved to the phone memory (Unless your service provider has done something t the phone software). I also have not experienced any hang ups of the phone but the phone is still abit laggy when loading/ viewing many images on the phone. The new firmware R2L really improves the battery performance to upto 2 days of normal usage. As for the SMS texting, I agree that it really takes time to get used to since I was previously a N3660 user but my advise to all phone users is try and buy what you feel most confortable in your hands since all of us are different. Overall I'm a satisfied K700i user and i would rate it 8/10. My hopes to SE to improve in the next firmware:
            i) Faster/ smoother image scrolling/ viewing.
ii) Pleasssssse increase the phonebook capacity! 500 items is ridiculuous with the 41MB.
iii) Can SE please come up with a high capacity batt? Perhaps at least 1000mAH?
iv) Can't assign personal tones to SMS and Calender tones? Common SE! Better fix this!
            v) can't have permanent user set screensaver. Annoying clock screensaver takes over my set screensaver when the phone goes into stanby mode.

And perhaps in future please have expandable memory available? I know SE damn ego on only using Memory stick. If they had considered MMC/ RS SD they could have built it onto the K700.

I bought this phone a couple of weeks ago but have now sent it back. It crashed on me every day, which was obviously a problem but the main problem is that it's incredibly fiddly to use. The keys are very close together and they wobble. Sending a text message would take a long time and often be full of mistakes. I don't have particularly big hands, by the way. Also, I only managed to store about 22 text messages and approx. the same number of sent messages. Orange told me this was because it's not possible on this phone to save messages to the phone (you have to save them to the SIM). And the battery life is pathetic. It would run out by at least half each day. This is phone is a triumph of design over practicality. Useless. I'm going back to Nokia!

just got this baby and its pretty good. i was putting it in my pocket today and got a bit of a scratch all the way up the screen! to clarify, only the s700 has a scratch proof screen, the k700i is 'scratchable'.

also on first charge the battery lasted 8 hrs. 2nd was two days, and its currently on its 3rd charge. looks as if the battery life extends the more it is charged.

when comparing pictures taken from my gf's 7200 and my k700i, pitures taken from her phone looks much better. No joke.

7200 indeed have a poorer LCD compared to k700i, but the picture recieved from her phone looks clearer than picture taken from my k700i when viewed from my phone.

I guess you don't understand electronic. GSM phones are fragile since their electronics is so small. So don't drop down phone unles you have lot of money.
