Well buddy, to be honest, i would recommend you to go for K750. W550 is a good phone indeed, however, if you really want to use it as an mp3 player, 256MB is really a major drawbacks. Right now i am using K750 and i put 1GB memory stick inside. After i use it, i found that 256MB is really not sufficient for a proper mp3 player. Unless you are looking for sthing cheap, then W550 is your phone. However, if you are willing to spent a bit more money, then i would suggest to go for K750 because even if W550 is walkman branded, after all they are by sony. And just to inform you, the mp3 quality will be pretty much the same (or could be even better in K750). After i bought K750, then finally i understand what does Walkman media player means. It doesn't mean for more music format supported nor better quality in sound. It is the UI matter. The walkman media player's UI is a proper and professional music player's UI (similar with what you found in Ipod). Whereas the K750 music player's UI is using the Sony ericsson's UI, which is not meant for a music player although it also quite proper in my opinion. These things doesn't bother me though. cheerz.

UPDATE: Both MS Duo and MS Duo Pro have the same dimensions, what was differnt in dimensions are the old MS and MS PRO.
Only MS Duo has a max. capacity of 128 MB and slower than Duo Pro which is available up to 2 G's.

No, you can't assign a different ring tone to each group, you can assign a different ring tone to every single contact only, make every contact in a group have the same ring tone instead.
It doesn't support MS Duo, it won't fit into the port for it has different dimensions than Duo Pro. Sony or Sandisk the difference is negligible, even some says that Sandisk is better.

I have never used groups for contacts before, so decided o set up some tonight, I always thought that a different ringtone could be assigned to a different group, just as you assign a ringtone to an individual contact.

However, i now find out that it is only beneficail to sending texts

Am i correct or what, if not how do i assign to groups.

I think not, I supports only MS Duo PRO, not the regular Due.

I have Sony Ericsson K750i and it's great! I love this fone! It has everything you ever would expect from a mobile fone. Great sound, mp3 player, a bright color display, a great camera (not so good for videos), flash, Auto-focus(Makes all the difference in pictures), a customizable theme, radio, a great stereo speaker, is really great!

I'm thinking to buy SEK750i (silver color preferably) as I have to change my old nokia who's battery 's gone dead -I use it just for calls/sms/alarm/reminders).Do you think SEK750i has any other rival that is worth buying instead? at approx. same cost/features? I was originally thinking to stick with a new Nokia bu after a quick review it seems SE and Samsung offers more features in lower cost.
Can anyone pls help in taking this decision :)??
                            Thank u in advance!!

When you read a post telling how to mute the shutter sound will that make any sense if there were no shutter sound at all !!???

Man I already said the 3 cons of this device -from my personal point of view- just yesterday or the day before, just scroll down and read any post with my nick name on it to check them out.
For comparing between K750i and D600 I won't be fair cause I simply didn't use or even see D600 till now, the only think I'm sure about is that K750i camera is better than D600 camera in still shots, don't know about the video capturing of the D600, don't know the resolution it captures video with so can't tell which is better in video capturing along with any other feature of the D600, but I can assume that D600 captures videos with MP4 format rather than the lower quality 3GP format of the K750i, but if D600 just captures with the same low resolution the format won't matter even if it was DVD format. There is a comparison feature this GSMArena site gives to us, use it to compare between K750i and D600, read each mobile review here and there, then just read couple of pages in each mobile forum.
The differnces between K750i and W800 has been written many times already, browse couple of pages to get to them.
One last thing, forget 6230i, it's already outdated.

                                    sek750se
You can't change it, you simply get used to it or mute it at all, before opening the lens cover just set the phone into silent mode and the shutter sound will be muted along with the set.
For upgrading -if ever needed-, you upgrade from SE web site, you choose your region and language, select your mobile, go to support page then choose Update Software System -or something similar to that-, and follow the procedures.
Well, as a stand alone AAC audio files, no, it doesn't support them, it only plays AAC audio format if it was joined with a MP4 video.

Yaa Yaa, as if I don't know about the bit rate issue !! But Nokia 7610 !!!!! Daym, very very big daym, I'm awfully sorry guys, it was a very big mind mistake, I don't know why I was very sure about what I'm talking about but my mind mixed it up with me, instead of talking about samsung E720 it brought 7610 to me. Same talking still applies with E720 -for the talking was ment for it from the 1st place not 7610-, it has a 1 m.pixel camera and still captures video with 352*288.
All in all I don't compare in general, I just compare in this very specific feature, video capturing resolution. Damn in love with my K750i, but that don't mean that I'll blind my eyes on its cons.
As I said before, nothing is perfect, including human beings, unfortunately!.

                                    jack
You upgrade the firmware for free from SE web site. Just choose your region and language and make sure to select K750i -not W800-, and follow what I just wrote to sek750se.
