that was me below, forgot to add name.

you can have your k750i flashed to w800, and there are ppl who can do this for you but it seems SE have taken a dislike to this and are trying to stop it. found this on one forum:

    "why i wouldnt flash (yet):

    1. no firmware updates. if there are bugs, you will be stuck with it.
    2. will void warranty
    3. send out
    4. shortcut key gone
    5. NO USB DRIVERS for the W800. K750 drivers will not work.
    6. no "macro" mode on cam

*if anyone still wants to flash. do it soon as you will see w800 flashing services disapper one by one. some "walk in"s should still be available though*

vist these guys if in UK.

you can do this yourself but you'll need a little technical knowledge. vist here:

but, on the basis of all the facts i've learnt from reading up today, i would still go for the 750i. reasons? the only real major difference that the w800 has is slightly better headphones, inferior buttons and a nasty colour scheme. the flight mode and the walkman orientated software i would class as minor differences...unless you do a lot of flying. and true, the batt capacity may be slightly higher when used like this, but i can use my 750i for 2 days using applications, listening to music, taking pics and making and recieving calls...before charging (which in itself only take 3-4 hours), so no big deal there. but if the macro photo mode is gone on the w800i, that is a big deal, i've read it a few times but not sure if its true. and all this (w800) hype about it being geared toward mp3s can be directed at the 750i too. i can listen to mp3s perfectly with the built in media player, i have no problems with it whatsoever. it can play mp3s and they sound good, what more could you ask??

so buy the k750i, and with the £50 you save you can buy a 1Gb memory card=equals loadsa room!! : )

I like K750.But me don`t like W800 because orange color is not favorite color.I like black color and dizain K750 is better than W800.But W800 have plus 512mb flash,K750 64mb flash. But I am not music fan and this do not so needful.

I have the phone for 2months now the phone is great considering the price and the features .the 2megapix camera is perfect, the picture taken is sharp and clear.the flash is very usefull in taking picture even in total darkness.the macro mode is very effective .I think it is the best camera phone in it's class. But sad to say it can't accept any symbian software .the sound of mp3 player is not loud enough compare to nokia phone.

this phone is absolutely amazing.. i've been using it for nearly 4 months .. its jam-packed with lotsa useful functions .. plus it also has the best camera around.. even better than the ones from nokia n series..
you won't regret buying it.. my dad and uncle uses that phone too.. alternatively you could also consider the w800i.. its altogether the same as the k750i .. apart from being able to switch it off as a mp3 player.. all around, sony ericsson did well this time

if your gonna be using your exclusivley for mp3's, and you can get round the colour go for the w800i, but buttons are inferior to 750i.

i will confirm or deny the flashibility (that a word?) of the 750i to w800 later today when i get a chance.

personally i would go for the K750i, but thats just my personal taste.

                    WOOOOOOOOOOOW
All these positive opinions just makes me sooooo exciting + very proud for being one of the 1st persons that went for that phone. Bought it the 2nd day it arrived at sonyericsson local branch in Egypt - where I live - and ever sense it didn't disappoint me AT ALL, in fact I find myself becoming more attracted to it after every single use.
And what makes me very happy is that finally lots of nokias are now SE's, not saying so because I'm a SE fan but simply because this phone leads all nokia phones and finally nokias are fair to confess that leaving the nonesense of smart phones behind them.
I will NOT change this PERFECT phone till SE makes a phone with 5 megapixels camera other than that no sir my cellular gives it ALL to me and ALL means everything you needs from a small compact multimedia phone.
K750i, the way it's ment to be LEADING WITH PERFECTION.

I think your referring to the w800 'airplane mode', where you can switch off the actual phone capabilities, that is transmit and recieve whilst still playing mp3s. I can see no reason why the 750i cannot be flashed to enable this, but you'll have to confirm it with soebody with better technical knowhow.

                        (and yeah, work sucks)

This Phone Rocks. There's no cons in it but there is a question:I heard that It can Play music Like W800(30 Hrs playback whne the phone is switched off)Is this correct and if it is how can I do This?
Is it Realated with Firmware Upgrade??

Listen people, through my work I usually get a new, top of the range phone every 3 months. I've had this one, the K750i for about a month now and I'm not so sure I want to give it back. The phone is perfect. The software is a joy to use and after an hour or you would have mastered it. Every function feels like it’s perfectly placed, and you can also add shortcuts. A man earlier asked how to transfer and play his mp3s. well, I'm not sure what he's doing wrong but I simply transfer via USB to my 1Gb memory card (purchased this separately for about £50) which is slotted into the side of the phone, and then play through the built-in media player. ((If the man can email me I will be more than happy to help)). Picture quality is perfect for a 2Mb camera, and yes it has all the autofoucs, lights, different shoot modes, night vision and much more. It has all the bells and whistles : ) Hardware wise, to look at it it’s beautiful. I can look at all day from any angle and it’s still perfect. Another man below mentioned a faulty joystick, well all products are gonna have some units which are faulty, this can't be helped. I've never had any problems with the buttons or joystick, and I use them alot with the 30 games I got installed. The buttons, are where one of the major differences lies between the W800 and K750i. The button’s on the W800i are submerged deeper in the handset than the 750i, thus making it slightly harder to use long term. Also, the colour of the W800 is horrible. And the software too is only slightly different to the 750i (which can be flashed to W800 if needed). And memory isn’t really an issue because you are likely to upgrade to a higher capacity whatever phone you purchase, at the moment you can also get 2Gb cards. The W800i is the same phone basically as 750i, but geared toward a younger market.

So both phones highly recommended!!! Especially over Nokia, it’s crown has long gone (8310 was best phone thought : )).

does SE K750i have automatic keypad lock with security code like that of P910i? I tried to active mine but it doesnt prompt for security code whatsoever. You see I do not wish anyone to see my messages when I leave my phone on my table.

Thanks. Pls email me the facts.
