hey - how were u able to update ur firmware? when i try to update mine it says "devicemgmt. sonyericsson connection has been interrupted.

Hey, What do you think? Should i buy this phone? still have the CRAP 02x3 and looking to get rid asap. only thing struggling with is.This or D900?? they are same on paperish... but the D900 is so thin!!?? what to do??

Switched K800i after a year of using its predeccesor K750i (it started to shows some glitches problem after nearly a year of using it), the features on K750i was so great that i was willing to wait for the K800i.
I have to say that it does not really WOW me at first. But after using it for nearly TWO MONTHS now, its been a very GREAT phone.
Design wise its not overly great, but the Browny Gold colour that i have is very nice to the eye, and a bit exclusive from the usual Black one, sometimes people are not quite sure which phone it is, had the same experience with the K750i coz i opted for a silver one. The thick obstructing lens cover at the back can be annoying sometimes. I always keep my phone in my pocket and the cover can open itself because of the movement when i'm walking. Also it makes me have to be extra careful when putting the phone down on the table. All the buttons and other things on the phone is very well placed and makes the phone easy to use esp when txting.
The camera is DAMN GREAT! The autofocus and flash features really kicks most competitors out there. Evne though the pictures' quality is still below the new N73 and N93, i'm still happy with it. Honestly, i rarely used the camera on my K750i because if i need to take some sample pictures, i always have a mini 5MP digicam in my bag. But after having the K800i, the digicam sits sadly in the drawer most of the time these days. Quality wise it will never be as good as the digicam, but at the end of the day when i always resize my pics to 640x480pixels, the pictures taken by K800i are more than enough. Not to forget, it takes great pictures of girls and whats heppening in the dark environment for example when i'm clubbing!! ;-D With the 1GB M2 card that i have, memory is more than enough for my usage.
Other thing that i found is the slowness of the phone when i was texting. Its not as fast as the old K750i. Its only a bit slower but still noticeable. Also i found that i need to reset this phone after a while. Most of the phones that i have are always on 24/7. The K750i can survive without resetting it after a few months using it, but the K800i can be a bit glitchy when its been on for a few weeks.
Speaker wise, the front speaker is great, i think its clearer than the K750i, never have problems when speaking in slightly noisy environment. Mind you that i have a small problem with my hearing, but this phone has been great when having a conversation with someone. The rear speaker is also better than the K750, my ringtones sounds a lot better! This is why now i'm starting to adopt funky ringtones to use.
Walkman wise, the earphones are still well kept in the plastic inside the box. I have never used it for walkman as i have my NANO for that department. Although, i have a friend who switched from the W810i and he mentioned that nothing different between the two (using the in-ear earphone supplied with the w810 that is).
With the fast growing mobile business these days, i'm not hoping to have a phone that can last as long as i want it to be, but the K750i lasted nearly 1 year before it shows some glitches. So we'll see how the K800i last this time.
Despite all the downsides of this phone. I still think that its a GREAT phone to have. Its not a phone thats OVERLY GREAT, which is not what i'm looking for. As long as it can do what i want it to do at the exact moment, i'm more than happy with it.

I only receive MMS with small photo. The sending is of photo with 25 kb and I receive with 5 kb More ou less 1cm x1cm. I live in Brazil and the operator is Claro. Do you have this problem?

The 'Auto Silent' for the keypad sounds are a deflect, I have sent my phone into the service centre in S'pore twice with the same problem (keypad no tones) and yet no resolution to it. As according to them, its a problem with the 'Software' and till date there's no available 'Software' to cure it... Well, guess we just got to wait.

Just got the k800 two days ago and i noticed that while recieving a call at some point when the person's voice gets louder or the person is in a loud environment it has an annoying crackling noise. The sort of noise you hear when you raise the volume on your sound system and the speaker cant handle it.
pls can anyone help, if this is a defect with the phone or mine is bad?

just bought the phone 2 days ago... was thinking of buying Samsung D900. Had them both in hands and in abaut 10 sec. decided to buy K800. Had Samsung D500 before. Although D900 and K800 have same technical support, K800 is much interesting phone with more features especialy for joung people. Samsung is great phone, but more for business people. Joystic could be more precise, and think the battery daosent last too long (although I´m constantly taking pictures and listen to the music). The best phone ever!!!

This cellphone is outstanding! I got this with msn messenger just a couple of days ago... Amazing camera with a nice flash... It's also very easy to use, and you can easily replace your ipod with this one too... The only thing you should know is that the including headset dont do if you want to use this as an mp3-player... But there's a headset to this phone from Sennheiser that is awesome, but it costs about 60 €... You'd also need a M2 memory card, 1 GB for about 55 €... Hopefully larger capacaties will be here in a near future...
If money is not a problem, I definitely recommend this awesome phone... Swedish quality, the best!

is the style of this phone more for boys than girls? I need a new phone I have the 02 x3 phone which is complete crap but want a new phone that is reasonably priced on pay as you go and samsung d900 is too expesnsive.
