I've had this phone a few weeks now. So far, i like it! The camera is great, its got mp3 player buttons on the side for quick use, and a very nice display. Its good bluetooth and full internet, and O2 do a very good deal at the moment where you get the phone free on any tariff. Sony Ericsson seem to have fixed the problem with the joystick sticking due to dust, and its very user friendly, responding quickly to button presses and such. Its only real letdown is the poor video quality (qcif) which makes redundent the advertised features like steadycam mode. It plays other videos in higher quality, and to be honest, the phone is advertised as the next step towards a proper digicam in a phone, not a videocamera/phone. the only other thing is the camera cover and screen tend to attract fingerprints and smears, to keep a cloth handy! Despite these two problems, the k800i is a very good phone and if your buying with the camera in mind rather than the video, you cant go wrong (especially with the xenon flash). User rating 8.5/10, peace out :)

Hi guyz! I have my eye on this latest beauty from SE..i currently have a w900.Cud sum1 plz tell me the following:-
1) What sort of ear phones come with a k800?? the ones that go inside ur ears(like in w900) or the other ones (like in k750)???
2) How wud u compare the screen of k800 with w900???
3) is the video playback quality of k800 better than the w900?
4) how is the sound volume on k800?? both speaker and earpiece? is it loud enough???

FROM LISA my w900 screen is bigger in size but still 240x320 pixel 262k colour but wud that make any difference

to kylie,,,its difficult question as ive bluetoothed over from d600 the snowboarder & other wallpapers but they dont fit my 240x320 pixel s/e w900 & some other sizes did not fit my nokia 6630 even tho all were pixel correct & 2megapixel photos ive taken using my w900i (same screen as k800)only fit one third of my w900 screen so wats going on i dont know...Also zedge do screensavers that dont seen to fit certain fones even tho they are the correct pixel size but someone more expert on here may be able to elaborate ,,,WEIRD !!!

Had it for a week by now... IT'S AWESOME !!!
The battery is sufficient, the screen is exceptionally great (doesn't fade on sun)... the camera is out of this world!!! I get better pictures than on a good number of digital cameras!
Someone mentioned something about the extension on the back for the camera.. being bulky... or something... bullsh*t... in use you won't feel it... plus when you lay the phone on the table it pivots the phone thowards you.. it's handy ;)

i sell mobile phones for a living and i compared all the phones to see which would be the best for me. and the k800 is the one. im a right feature geeka and this has them all! definitly 10/10 for this phone. much better than the n80 as it is more reliable and less klumpy looking. better features to and half the price. SE are deffinitly leading the market at the mo. get this phone and youll be impressed by how cool it is.

just a question! When you put a photo on the main screen as a wallpaper, does the photo fit full screen or does it have white "fill lines" across the top and bottom?

Battery life on the N73 is supposed to be much much better than N80. Most people report 2 - 3 days use before needing to recharge. This is partly because N73 doesn't have battery drain from WIFI.
Another phone to look at is the Samsung D900. Very thin, 3.2 Mpx, decent video capture, but not 3G. I am trialling one now.
If you are not fussed about the QVGA display you should also look at the K610. Same size as the K750 but with 3G also.
My choice is also between the K800, N73 and D900. The D900 is lovely but the lack of 3G is making me think the N73 might be for me. I am put off the K800 by the smaller phyiscal screen (I know the resolution is the same but I use my phone for web browsing quite a bit and the text is too small on the SE), hump on the back, very poor video capture resolution, and general ugliness.

hmm... the first time when i look at the official picture and reviews when the phone was first announce i was dissapointed then after that i decided that i will never buy this phone because it is soooo ugly.
GUESS WHAT? Now i'm having it IN MY HAND!! weird? not really... i am a fan of SE, so i check the dummy everytime they got the new one (i am working for a mobile phone company anyway). When i first time have a look at the dummy that was the time when i started to like the design, especially the back part. It is so sleek. i own K750 before this, and i can't refuse to think that the design ain't as good as K750 but still looks very very good. Somehow it even looks better and i dunno why. The display is simply stunning. The camera is superb, it exceeds one's expectation of what a mobile phone can do (still not as good as a real digicam though). The mp3 sound is not that much different from K750, but it has a better media player. The flash is amazing. The only thing that really concern me is the camera cover which i think will get scratch very easily (yet that's the bit that i love the most because it makes the phone looks shiny). Whats more.... I have no sort of complaint with this phone, everthing works perfectly. It actually exceeds my own expectation somehow about how the phone attract me ^__^... i thought i will love my k750 more.. but i started to change my mind already

generally a great ph but let down by an almost useless handsfree speaker and a couple of poor menu function (either hard to find or too long to find or just not there. ie changing keylock operation time, where is this feature???) and a totally inadequate instruction manual!!!!

Its.... a great I hav had for a week now, includes all the features that th d600 or n80 doesn't hav! This phone has a great camera effect and quality! Buy his phon you'll lov it.

That is why before you buy phone you want to make sure that phone is not build like Singapore, Gong Kong, Thailand
My phone was build in Japan. I have it for about 3 weeks now. No problems at all. Works like a charm.

Good Day To All (Especially ppl from S'pore)
Just to share my experience for this phone. I have bought this phone about 1 week ago and guess what, is now inside the service centre due to:
1) Keypad doesn't have tone even I set it.
2) While deleting messages either from inbox/sent folder, the screen hangs.
3) When message was received, no tones sounded even when tones was set to.
Well, I do believe that all the above mentioned are due to some software problems which causes this, anyway hope that after 'servicing' this phone will be in its best form.
Last of all, so far the design is still the most outstanding as compared to others.

IMPORTANT: Users in Middle East of sony k800...U will not be able to use ur new Etisalat sim card in this k800.Etisalat came out with a new version incompatible in k800..INQUIRE before buying...thanks to Gsmarena u finally knw abt it
