    message for Owen,
I've had two M2 memory sticks and they both have got around 460mb so i think that may be the norm!! I also had 70mb of internal memory (o2 phone) but my friend who's got the same phone on vodafone has only got 46mb.

Also....has anyone recieved a text from vodafone saying that you can no longer use your inclusive text allowance for sending pic/video messages from 1st september? 2 of my mates have and are not pleased having only just taken out their contracts 3 weeks ago. Vodafone say they will now be charged as extra's on your bill.

Hello, I was wondering how sturdy is the slider to cover the camera lens? I mean, it just sticks out and give the k800 a weird shape.

                  hey,

As the k750i had problems with the joystick, ie. it sometimes wont work properly in certain directions, is this a problem in the k800 version?

                  Cheers

                    to All who owns k800i

                    THE CLOCK BUG
I've read some complaints here saying that when they change the clock size to "Large", it will be beyond human's eye can read.
As soon as I got the phone, that is the first thing I tested. I set my clock to "Large" using the "am/pm" clock format and I can still read the clock. It was actually nicely displayed large at the bottom part of the screen. But when I set the time format in "24 hour" format and still use the Large size, that is where I saw the problem you guys are complaining. The font is very small...
So I guess you just have to use the "am/pm" format instead of the "24-hour" format.
This is indeed a bug, but firmware update can fix it.

                    THE DISTORTED/CRACKLING SOUND
Another complain I've read is the distorted sound if you set the volume to second to the highest setting. Im not sure if you're talking about the loud-speaker or the headset, so I tested both:
First I tested the loudspeaker and set it to the "Highest" volume instead of just second to the highest. I played several songs with diferrent bass and treble sound. I DID NOT hear any crackling noise. I tried to lower down the volume while its playing and still NO crackling or distortion.
Next I tested the same songs using the headset. The sound is ofcourse much better and no distortion at all even at Highest volume.
So whoever wrote the feedback about the crackling sound, have your phone checked if the housing of the phone is loose or something that might be causing vibration during playback in loudspeaker. if you were using the headset, have it checked too. it might also depend on the bitrate of the MP3 song you are playing. 128kbit or 192kbit is already optimal. higher than that might cause bass sound of the song to be distorted in loudspeaker.

PHONE NUMBER APPEARS INSTEAD OF NAME
I have a new mobile number and no one has called me since they dont know my new number yet.
I have one suggestion though on this:
Make sure your contacts has been copied to your phone memory and delete the same contacts from your SIM.
Also, make sure that you do not have a duplicate phone number entry under a different contact name or within the same contact name.
Once I've got my new number forwarded to my friends, ill start receiving calls from them then I can give it a test and will post my comments on this soon.

                    NOW, TO MY OWN COMPLAINT...
The only thing Ive noticed is that sometimes while Im using the phone like changing settings or typing an SMS or text message, the phone screen will turn off like it will go to power saving mode. Although it doesnt actually shutdown the phone because when I press any key, the display will go back and the message or application Im working on is still there.
Sure I know how power saving works, it automatically turns off the screen or light to save battery when its not in use. But I was using it that time and i was typing something on the keypad. My battery is fully charged. maybe another bug. but it doesnt bother me as of the moment. I just hope it will not happen frequently and if I have time, i'll have it check to certified SonyEricsson shop if this is a known issue with K800i and if they have a new firmware update.
Another thing is my 512MB M2 memory stick. When I check the available capacity, its only 455MB and its virtually empty as I havent put any files yet. I guess it acts like in a computer memory and hard disk space that it doesnt read the exact or accurate amount of memory and the hard drive. But man! 512mb to 455mb, thats a huge amount of missing space. thats 55mb more! I think its acceptable if the available capacity reads 495MB-500MB. but 455MB? Im not sure about it. If the M2 memory stick is really built in standard like this, its ok. meaning even if i bought another one or have it replaced, ill get the same thing. Otherwise, i'll really have it replaced.
ON THE CONTRARY, the specifications of the phone indicates "64MB internal" memory space. But when I checked my phone memory status, it shows around 70MB without any files on it yet. SO I think that compensates with my M2 complaint (not enough compensation thpough).
I don't really consume much space that's why its not a major problem for me. The highest card I've used in my entire cellphone life is 128MB on my Nokia 9500 and I wasnt able to consume it entirely. So this 512MB which is 4 times larger than that will be enough.

Other than these, the phone is functioning normal.

If you guys have some problems or found some bug, or confusions with the phone features... let me know and i'll test my phone for you so I can check if it's a problem with my K800i too or just your phone. just click Email below this post to see my email add.

                    hope this helps... =)

                        Hi Bratok =)

the screen plastic that came with the k800i is meant to be removed, like in any other new mobile phone.
as you noticed, the plastic screen protector has a tab at the left side of it which will make it easier to be removed.
If they installed it on purpose for permanent protection, they will not put a tab so it will stay put.

you can purchase a good screen protector for your k800i like Brando Ultra Clear or maybe Capdase. thos are good brands. i suggest you get Brando instead of Capdase.

Read a review of the K800i in my What Mobile magazine,an they found that the slider cover on the camera can easily be removed in pockets an the slider catch got broken so the camera was turned on all the time,so the K800i better be well looked after or the camera cover will break easy also they say why have the cover when theres no optical zoom an does not let your mobile flat on a table or surface

Can somebody please tell me if the screen on k800i is easy to scratch? The reason I’m asking is because I accidentally removed screen protector that comes with the phone. I tooth that it’s just a plastic cover like on every new phone. When I realize what it was, it was too late, I tried to put it back, but got allot of bubbles under the protector. SO now I’m thinking that if manufacture installed screen protector on the phone, which is unusual, it’s probably because the screen made from LCD mirror and so it’s very easy to get scratched. Or this is just my imagination about screen getting scratched like crazy. Please help, I’m afraid to use the phone with out screen protector!!! Anyone???

                            Thanks.

regarding with your review,m i just judge it regarding with the color rendition...

K800 beats N73 in color rendition but a little bit only, N73 is sharp but K800 is more natural so it's better, aside from that the color in n73 is unreal, the food looks like it is 3 day ago since it was cooked...Lol...

tarantula please make you judgement also...

Se not only beats Nokia im imaging but also in Music, i am wondering if 3250,N91,n73,n93 can withstand a K800 or K750 with music deskstand 60(MDS-60)... it's a full base dual speaker that sounds like a mini theater machine like in IPOD desk Speakers(i have heard that with the help of my friend who has W800i and it is even better than any walkman phones there)
