I have the N80 and it was the worst decision ever- it is rubbish, the sliding mechanism dnt work very well and it keeps opening when i put it in my pocket- the features aint very good either, typin on it is terrible- people my advice to u is GET THE K800i- regardless how much u get messed around by o2- dont penalise urselves by making do with another phone, this phone is the dogs B******s I'm waiting on mine now but ive used one before, its well worth the wait- i promise u

This is a highly over r8ed phone. Ppl onli want this phone for its camera quality, which to be honest isnt n e thing special. Yeah its 3.2 mp, but the only time u will ever see the difference in quality is if you print your pictures ON A DIGITAL CAMERA PRINTER. Also at the end of the day what can the k800i do that the k750i cant? I still think SE cant beat the K750i

Just a quick review on the first impressions of my k800i.
CALLS...Very clear, no problems.
FINNISH...Very impressive, strong and sturdy, the keypad is slightly rubberised but still very good and feels responsive. The front is finnished in a brushed steal effect and the back has a velvety rubbery feel to it.
SCREEN...Fantastic!..very bright and clear and quite big, about 4 or 5mm bigger than the k750/w8ooi type.
CAMERA...Wow! brilliant looking results so far, only used it with everything set on the auto mode but for most people that is all you will need, for the more advanced photographers there is a whole host of options.
VIDEO...Yes it's true!..it's probibly only slightly better than the k750/w8ooi if not the same, but it still looks good in full screen playback and large screen.
MUSIC...Very good, as good as my mates W800i and way better than my outgoing D500, a very meaty sound and loud.
TO USE...Having never owned a SE before, i was amazed how easy it was for me to pick things up with this phone, the menu system seems to have been well thought out and have a logical feel to it.
STYLE...For me SE have got this phone just right, sophisticated and stylish to look at. Not a big fan of the white phones of this world or the big and bulky and odd looking nokia's that seem to just keep coming out.
CONCLUSION...Just about 10 out 10 in every area for me, probibly only thing that i would have expected, was a better video quality like the 30fps that some phone's have, but it still looks ok in full screen playback. Overall 9.5 /10 well done!!

Dear avinersan:
You might be right about picture compression, but that does not change the fact that pictures taken with my Nokia N80 in landscape mode were BETTER than pictures taken with the same settings
on my Sony Ericsson K800i. I have tried again and again and compared pictures from both phones and N80 wins in
landscape mode, but SE K800i wins in Macro mode, i have nothing against SE i am just telling my own experience and
i wish i was wrong, thus i am very disappointed in SE K800i.
Dear Jo:
Yes my settings are dual mode but the WiFi is only on on/need, and yes i have tried before switching to the GSM mode only, and
yes the battery life is longer but still not that much of a difference maybe only 30% increase in operating time when in GSM only mode.
Just wished that the battery life would be better, hoping that the upcoming Nokia N83 will correct these problems.
Thank you

I visited a Phones4U in Hove (near Brighton, England) and got to play with a K800i. Comments: a) Excellent fit and finish, except the keypad, but it's not terrible. b) Surprise feature of two function buttons at top (next to video call camera), that on this phone displayed the last photo taken and the photo viewer. c) Camera operates like a regular digicam, only negative being that as far as I could tell, you cannot FORCE the flash on, something that is important to reduce shadows when shooting portraits into the sun. It's nice to just slide the lense cover to fire up the camera. Very cool! d) GUI is very fast. e) Predictive text is smart, even guessing the NEXT word you are going to type based on the last one you entered! (Spooky!) f) On the Vodafone model, the two small buttons either side of the joystick are for placing and making a call, not the same as shown on web pics. (Great!) g) Deal at Phones4U is £40/m for 500 mins, 250 texts and Stop the Clock. I don't work for any of the above companies, just reporting direct from the battlefield. Unless SE P990 arrives, I'm getting one of these sexy puppies.

to crix the same i say to you :don't talk if you are a noob
the so is not the same in k800 as it is in the d500
the k800 hase by far the most advancet java so in the mobile comunaty
it suports setings for camera wich you only find in cameras like exposure setings(wich belive if you know what you are doing the expouser seting isss wondorul)and you can control evrey aspect of your camera
and let's not forget than now it is posible to multi task (this is a first for a java phone)
i can't belive that people stil buy stuff with out knoyng a single thing about it
java games are at lest the same if not beter as the ones in the symbian phonesprograms is posible to instal in both tipes but the symbians are more advancet and browsing both tipe of phones are very god at browsing

SE K800. to me its a bog standard phone with a decent camera. WOW! Take the camera away and tell me what it can do what the N80 cant. The menu system is just like my D500. The n80 is far superior, apart for the camera and the battery life. Am not a fan of either phones but the N80 comes on top for me

Also another proof of the picture size for the SE K800i is that the availabe memory on my phone is 58mb and it says 70 photos left on the 3.2 Megapixel fine settine, thus 58mb/70 photos equals 830 Kb average size of a photo!!!
