Guys, Guys, come on, stop comparing this fone to Nokia's N93 smartphone as Nokia's fone is being dubbed as a fone for both video and photo capabilities wereas K800 is only imaging and not video. If you recall, SE has already achieved VGA recording with 30 FPS in it's W900 so Nokia has just come of age, so basically SE has been there, Done it and moved on whereas Nokia has just come about so to speak. Using Carl Zeiss lenses does nothing if the mechanism is krap in which case Nokia's cam's are compared to Sony. As which would you prefer Sony Cybershot or Nokia's far flung Krap. If SE used carl zeiss then what would happen to Nokia, it would vanish in comparison to quality as even now SE is way better then Nokia. And In May mind you SE releases the first glimpses of it's Smartphone Handycam series for all you video freaks and jocks along with Digital imagery w/ optical zoom this time. So what would Nokia do infront of Handycam... !!! And with the later year's models of imagery yet to be released by SE. Sorrie to say Nokia has it's work cut out as it's releasing these models now and gathering fan base as soon it's gonna get it in the butt from SE as comparison wise Nokia doesn't stand a chance ... !!!! Adios.

oh my god just look at W700 and W800 they are the same looking they just painted it differently! what a shame! someone in here needs to watch her mouth b4 saying unfair comments... for me K800 is nothing its like a TOY PHONE compared to N93! optical zoom vs digital zoom?? symbian 9.1 to proprietary SE OS?? VGA 30fps vid recording vs QCIF??? 2.4" vs 2"?? WLAN vs nothing?? uPnP vs nothing?? K800 is a junk when compared to N93! come on die hard SE fanatics K800 is definitely INFERIOR to N93! no chance at ALL!

Really interesting situation, N93 is a great smartphone, probably the best at the moment.
Talk about lenses, Sony Cybershot DSC powered by Carl Zeiss lenses isnt the best cameras, i think so Olympus, Nikkon and Leica lens provide best results in photo quality, the interesting part is optical zoom in N93.
K800 has the advantage the experience of his predecessor K750i.
But the coming soon SE slider, I hope that phone have better characteristics than K800 and compete with N93, because i think that the really competition of K800 is the N73 smartphone

Just a little comment to Haley´s statement.
I´m not sure if I got your point right, but are you trying to say that it in some way is a BAD thing to have a wide selection? Yes it´s true that Nokia releases several models with only slight differences. On the other hand, I think that SE´s situation is even wors if you look at it this way. I mean, W800 and W810? Only difference is EDGE... All these little Z-class clamshells... They are identical except for some little change as screen resolution or color...
So I think that both Nokia and SE have the same problem. But hey, there isn´t much you can add to these phones anymore, is there?

Coming out wid a lot of phone at a time is totally no use.. Tat is not aggresive.. Tat is call Kiasu.. N71 and N70 no much different.. Nokia kip making same function but diferent disign phone.. Server no purpose..
Sony, On the other hand.. Take a long time to introduce a phone tat is totally different frm the previous batch..
Look at W810i and K800i..
Noe the big different??
Big different mean longer time to introduce..
But it is worth the wait as long as the phone is good..
W950i and K800i both will be introduce into the market at a much more later time den NOKIA.. But i'm sure ppl will wait fer tis two phone no matter how long it take..

So... Nokia strikes back...
The situation suddenly got a lot more interesting, don´t you think?
So, the new duel will most likely be fought between the N93 and the K800 (if SE doesn´t launch something new).
So, let´s analyse:
Feature wise:
-Bot 3G and videocall.
-Same (main) screen (N93´s is a lot larger though).
-Same network; tri-band+UMTS.
-Both have got enough internal memory, the K800 has got 14mb more but then again the N93 is using a more convenient memory card (miniSD).
-The K800 has got a better battery life.
¨-The K800 has got HSCSD (whatever it is...).
-The K800 is clearly smaller and lighter.
-Then comes Nokia´s strong point; Wi-fi, uPnP, EDGE, TV-out, Push-to-talk and naturally the countless possibilities of Symbian 9.1...
Camera-wise:
It´s interesting, they seem to back up each others weaknesses:
-The N93 has got an excellent video-shooting mode when the K800 is still using the ancient QCIF-resolution.
-Sony is good in making cameras so the K800 is expected to take good pictures, when Nokia is still quite new in the high-end camera business (we´ll see the results when N93 is tested).
-The N93 has got Carl Zeiss lens and the K800 has got CyberShot lens, both should be of high-quality.
-The N93 has got 3x OPTICAL ZOOM, and this is the main factor for the N93´s advantage, the K800 still uses digital zoom.
-They both now have auto-focus for close-ups and overall crispness.
-The K800 has got a more powerful flash.
This we know, and I must admit that the N93 looks better on paper. We´ll have to wait and see how they match when they are released.
The N93 already attracts the ones who use their phones for other things than fun and the K800 attracts the more... Umm... People who like SE and so on...
So the big thing here is that Nokia has entered SE´s area by releasing a high-end camera phone which actually beats the SE camera phone on paper. So, the key to K800´s success will be it´s ability to take better pictures than the N93 (even though it lacks optical zoom). Time will tell, but the situation is veri interesting indeed.

The problem with sonyericsson is that their new phone take very long to launch. Worst is that all the nokie new models have neem introduced on the market and people have bought and used it. Later then, sonyericsson came out a new model slowly slow motion... You see nokia is so agressive coming many new models very soon.
So at that point of time, you either stick with the nokia models or sell at a loss and buy a new se model. Because I only use nokia or sonyericsson phone, no thanks to motorola, siemens, etc..

to all SE fans
nokia always broughts out shocking phones but don't be a fool to change your mind so fast because of WIFI,CZ lens etc. Nokia yes, always makes a publicity to the people know why? even CZ lens in nokia cannot easily beat this one...
REASONS:
Sony Cybershot cameras are usually equipped with CZ lens vario-sonnar/tessar and CCD sensor long time ago so can nokia make the best imaging phone that fast without too much experience in those lens? look at what happen to N90 they hurry everything for a goal to make it best camera phone but shame, k750 beat them all in price and performance.
sony doesn't make OS-powered imaging phones because it will take many time before they can perfect it BTW. is there a NOKIA Symbian that is perfect? Absolutely No many Symbians are reported Lagging and errors/bugs are so many due to constant hurrying. i think all Phone brands know that thing coz most of their imaging phones are not os-powered only nokia. and they keep trying and trying to make a SYMBIAN phone with complete features with a perfect performance and quality. cmon guys open your eyes.
K800 as expected has a 3.2 mp cam. and n93 DVD quality video and CZ lens WIFI,3G etc. they just put those features to hide camera and other hardware's inferiority to most of SE mobiles.
so here is my opinion
K800 vs N93
battery life
K800 surely the winner.
Camera:
Gsm Arena will do a cam test again... let's
BTW do you think CANON IXUS digicams and Sony Cybershot do need an OS to function very well? think of yourself
Performance/Booting of phone:
K800 again, symbian always sluglish when booting phone i have tested many NOKIA before
Price:
SE k800 surely. it's an imaging phone with 3g mp3 radio and card slot which are basic needs, N93 has k800's features WIFI edge push to talk etc does anyone need those features? it only increases it's price...

im going for the best camera phone. Seriously, the n80 has a worse quality camera quality then the K750 in broad daylight with optimal focal range.
Bottom Line: Unless nokia upgrades their camera processors, SE will also beat nokia cameras even without carl-zeiss

You remember that competitor of K800 probably be the N73 with Carl Zeiss lens, CZ lens is only publicity coz the 3,2mpx camera sensor of nokia is inferior to 3,2mpx cybershot sensor of K800, both sensors are CMOS type but cybershot produce good quality sensors and has xenon true flash.
The new SE slider coming soon, this jewel will prresented in may 11/18th, probably this is the rival for N93 (3,2m, 3x optic CZ, autofocus). This slider probably called handycam or cybershot/handycam, and video recording like N93 (VGA, 30fps)
