            @token
            the phone contruction has a solid feel and the keys are hard plastic with good feedback.
            @Sd8B
            The k850i is the most capable camera phone out there. I know there are tons of settings that you can adjust for best results. But who's gonna have a bunch of ppl posing for a pic or even better yet a girlfriend or 2 flashing or kissing and go "hold on I've got to adjust my white balance and my ISO settings." I'm just saying that at this point it's images are not any better than other 5mp camera phones out there and hardly photos better than the k800 and k810 models.The xenon flash is its only edge. Maybe a firmware update will allow for its full potential. If I've read right in other forums the k800's intitial release didn't produce photos near what it is capable of today. And yes, I'm a diehard SE fan.

                Hi all,

                Can anyone who currently owns the K850i, can you tell me whether the keys on the keypad are rubber or plastic?

                I popped into an O2 store to have a look at the size and felt up the keyboard (ohh..err!), and found the keys a tough plastic! Now, this could be so the dummy phone doesn't break due to customer wear-&-tear I suppose, or it is the true keypad material!

                Can any users give me an accurate description of what its like to use the keypad, say, when texting at speed, please?

                Cheers :)

                  For all those Filipino people who are waiting for the original K850i, I mean from the Sony Ericsson store....it will be released 2nd week of November. It just passed through the NTC check up. And for your info..those who bought in greenhills etc....you will not receive any warranty or return/fixing of ericsson...sory for you guys...price range would be from 24K-26K...and by the way, it will be released first in Sony Ericsson north edsa...oh yeah! and i'll be the first one! woohoo! and also! for those who shipped theirs....it will also not have warranty in the philippines because Sony Ericsson Philippines doesn't abide by the warranty internationally..they only accept warranties that is from the philippines...so sorry for the others mwahahah! ahahaa

                    This is the best camera phone out there. It beats Nokia N95 when the user knowshow to play with the settings. And when there's update on the firmware. It would beat any 5 megapixels camera out there.

                    K850i is the best phone on the market today

                      @jim again
                      didn't realize that you already had a k800i. Nice. k850i's imaging IMO is not a huge improvement with current firmware over k800i. I would hold on to your k800i. Or buy k850i and sell k800i, cutting costs significantly.

                        If you have the money laying around then get it you won't be dissapointed. Like I said a new firmware will improve the image quality. It's a great phone. I just expected more from the camera. Perhaps too much. The longer you wait to get it the more likely its glitches will be worked out and it'll be cheaper. My friends hasn't had a problem yet. He is quite pleased and has had it for a week.

                                My K850 arrives tomorrow and I can't wait!
                                I know that, officially, this supports up to 4GB but has anyone tried bigger cards (i.e. 6/8GB)?
                                Any experiences gratefully received!

                                  SE fan i am, but decided to wait for sucessor of k850i. Perhaps will get it if At&t pick it up. Not dropping $550 on it though. Just expected more from this phone's camera. Perhaps new firmware will help, as of now not impressed. Thats not to say it isnt a great phone with a good/great camera. I expected images closer to that of a stand-alone camera. It should dominate the competition, but it doesnt. The camera is the main selling point. I like the design and look. I have handled a friends so I know the construction is solid. UI is good as with all SE's I've had.
                                  It should have been more after waiting so long; internal optical zoom, better sensors, vga recording, better placed light sensors so you dont have to hold it perfectly to take a picture in low-light and explain to ppl how to hold it to take a picture for you.
                                  Samsungs g800's camera is impressive, nice looking phone, but samsungs UI stinks IMO. N95 is too big and overkill for what I need a phone for. Just my 2 cents.

                                      right got mine today from Singapore

                                      Awesome i must say, nice touches such as moving background visuals even if your just on the image broswer, music, calendar etc. Video playback is as fast as the N95's, nice and smooth, nice pictures and the MP3 player is very easy but stylish. The D-pad will take a little getting used to, but the 3 touch sensitive buttons r superb. the motion sensor feature is lovely, although i still don't know how to play the 3d game properly.

                                      1 thing tough, i am not sure how (if) you can use the small camera for taking pictures?

                                      Overall i prefer it from the N95 (which i had over the summer)

                                      and i will be keeping it!

                                      9/10

                                        jx@m i do believe nokia fans do get lost in the hype,,,WHY ,,because i was one!! ive gone for samsung g600 as my fone from n95 but only because of the better vid recording and lovely screen..Once s/e up their vid recording resolution what would you have???
                                        excellant battery
                                        excellant music player
                                        excellant camera
                                        excellant vid record
                                        decent web browser,
                                        Only time will tell but sony have been into camcorders for ages and sony were renowned years ago for shrinking consumer electronics so the only logical reason is soon they will introduce a handycam fone..But will they then miss out cybershot or decent walkman player on the handycan fone as the natural progression of the mobile generally does or they could go full power and slam the lot into the ultimate device,,they wont i know,,but soon these 5mp cams will be commonplace and wi-fi and sat nav and tv will be just ordinary mobile functions,,so whats next ,,well their are now laser projectors to fit in the mobile to screen a 32 inch vid on any wall,,fold out screens and other stuff so come on s/e give us a video mobile in 2008 before these features are just normal functions of a mobile
