got it yesterday, no problems with it at all, part from the flash i dont think is very good, i was expecting some really amazing flash like i had on my previous k800i but its nt very good, at leat there is a torch on it again now, but everyhting else is fine, you do get finger prints on it very easily but they come off, so no probs, i really like it, i love the look of it and it feels very nice in your hand. Playing around with it last night, I like it, but there are a lot of bugs.

They've bigged up that 'best pic' feature but you can't use it with the flash - which is one of the main reasons I got it - fed up of poor pics at night - can anyone tell me why this is??

If you delete pics from your phone under 'media manager' the thumbnails remain until you turn the phone on and off!

The 'auto rotate' feauture doesn't work unless the phone is dead vertical or horizontal.

Pics auto-orientate so end up being upside down on the phone!? i.e. I took a photo with the phone in the correct position but when I viewed it in media it had been rotated 180 degrees!

      Anyone else experiencing these problems?

I'm going to give it time - but I hope they release a firmware update, and soon!

Please Don't compare K850i with N95 because it's not a smartphone. Compare P1 with N95. Phones which has lot's of functioanlity components gets sick many times. Sometime GPS is dead, Wifi hangs, Slider got loose...more trips to Nokia service centre and they fatch lots of money...after some month another function gets problem...Symbian OS gets Virus...endless..

Don't you know the difference between 30FPS QVGA and 30FPS VGA??? Superior quality with VGA recording...!!!

Um..The K850 runs at 30fps aswell so..thats not an advantage of the N95..

When the N95 first came out, it didnt have a 8gb memory. This is only being released to keep sales up, but its not going to work with the release of the i-phone coming out at the same time.

End of the day the N95 is a nice piece of kit, but i can assure you, there will be just as many problems with the 8gb N95 as with the original.

Thats why i always go for SE. I want a phone that doesnt crash all the time, i dont care if it doesnt have sat-nav or wifi, aslong as it WORKS i'm happy.

            Its QUALITY not quantity

The K850 is a good average phone with good camera, do not compare to the more sophisticated N95 8GB.

People that only want normal cell with good camera features will go with K850.

People that want a complete phone (GPS, WIFI, big screen, video VGA 30fps, 3.5 mm audio output jack, TV out and many more features will buy the N95 8GB.

Don't you see the big difference between those two cell phone?

1- SE: if you want more memory you have to buy it separately. If you a GPS device you have to buy the GPS HGE-100 enabler separately.

              2- Nokia: Everything is included!

              So make your choice now:

              SE K850: 650USD + Memory card 4gb 120USD + GPS HGE 100 enabler + 90USD = 860USD

N95 8GB: 860USD FOR ONE DEVICE, with more features!!!

I have the K800 for 1 year now, still very good.

The thing i don't like about SE is they want to make more money selling separate features device...SE: BUILD A REAL COMPLETE CELL PHONE FOR ONCE!

I work for O2, and decided to pick this phone up.

                Very happy so far;

                - Battery Life far supasses any other 5mp cam phone (N95, G600)
                - Camera is far superior to other 5mp phones.
NOTE - Because the screen is 262k colors and not 16million like the N95, pictures dont look as good on the phone screen. Stick them on a pc and you will see the difference.
                - Motion sensesitivity! Thats right.
There is a game where you have to guide a marble through a maze, and you do so by tilting the phone in the desired direction to move the marbel, very cool.
-Easy to use and feels very sturdy, good quality build like most SE phones.
-Unique look and not to bulky.

This phone is a fantastic handset. If you are looking for a phone with a great camera, excellent battery life, easy to use, this is a must by.

It doesnt ruined itself by having features like GPS and document viewer, which i dont need.

:))) See if you want to buy Nokia then Buy It !

Why are you thinking too much ?

if you are regretting after buying Nokia than PUHLEEEZZZZZZZZZ don't show your frustration here. There is already a lot of craze for this phone. You can't stop anyone from buying it.

I know YOU WISH THAT YOU GOT NOKIA AND NOW JUST LIKE YOU EVERY ONE SHOULD BUY IT AND WOULD JOIN YOUR CLUB OF SORROW SO YOU CAN GET SOME RELIEF THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE...

As far as i am concerned i will always buy Sony coz there is always a sense of pride as a SONY owner.

Please buy N95 it may suite you. This has become very common. Chinease N95 are more cheap. I RWQUEST ALL NOKIA FAN BOYS THAT PLZ BUY N95.

Still no company I SAY NO COMPANY can compete to the elegance of SONY's Cyber-shot and Walkman. I have read somewhere that lots of money is pouring in by rival companies for propaganda.

Cumon honey if you are buying N95 for battery draining expensive GPS then i am sorry i can not stop you from buying that brick. Coz i know u have extraordinary eyes that always use magnifying Glass to see the difference between 16million pixels. Hack it ! I know you are too much busy.

This is impossible for me to think if Xpress-music can sound better than Walkman ....if Nokia's non branded phone have a capacity to challenge Cyber-shot cameras.
Darling if you believe what i will not ever believe in my life then you must go to
www.sony.com coz i think you never experiance SONY. You have never experienced those brands. Youa re a "poor non Sony home".

I love Sony Ericsson's Branded phone. Hey I've got Sony Cyber-shot and Walkman what do you have ? N series ? Sorry....you go for it...

can someone help me with regards to saving messages to your memory with the K850. i went to messages then settings and then general and then selected save to memory card thinking that from that point on my messages would be saved. when i went back to the main menu and then into messages and inbox and deleted all my messages from my inbox i then went back into the section where i thought my messages would be saved onto my memory card and blow me down they were all deleted. i thought the whole point of saving my messages onto my memory card meant that they would have been safe! can someone tell me if its my phone/memory card that's the problem or is it supposed to be like that?

                      wcfs-
You also do know that they mentioned that the N95 recreated the picture with faux colors, and the only thing that made it win over the reviewers was how it made the pictures make the reviewers feel happy, right?
They also said, the K850 would be better off as a camera phone if you liked realistic pictures, not pictures with ponys dancing in the background.
(exaggeration, I know, but why would you want an elegant night club to look... vibrant? but then again, it seems like K850 users would have both the money and the lifestyle to go to a higher end nightclub rather then N95 users who'd go anywhere for booze, music and girls
Just my opinion on what type of people seem to do what. I might be wrong, but this is coming from what I see in Toronto.)

                        wcfs-
It's cause the colors on the phone's camera sensors aren't made so that they heighten the color ratios. As well, sure, it's true that the 256k screen might not have the picture stand out as well. But take two pictures that are alike, and compare them on the computer.
As well, it was most likely common bad luck, to order so soon for the initial and secondary shipments which may still have manufacturer's defects from a number of reasons. But if it's enough for you to go to use the N95, have fun with that... bland-ish phone.

Perhaps we should believe what has been tested by GSM arena

                          In the 5MP tests,
N95 won!And there is no competition between the N95 and SE850.

                          Sad,i'm going for Nokia

As for this phone, I myself am waiting until the phone drops to the 550 dollar level. That, and I'm going to buy a slew of SE phones soon. W880, W910, two K850s. Ok, maybe that's not alot, but still, that's alot of money. Two for me, one of each of my two friends. Though of course, I'll ask them if I can try them out first so that I can give a verdict upon them here.
Expect more soon around the new year, but people who're ordering the first and secondary shipments of this good phone (notice how I didn't say great, WONDERFUL or amazing? Neither did it include 'king of (all) phones', 'the best' or things like that? Because it's not. Why? Cause there'll be a phone to top it off. So nothing is the king, also cause phones aren't things that live... perhaps yet... But anyway;)

people who're ordering the first and secondary shipments of this good phone please keep coming in with the TRUE and constructive criticism of this phone. Who knows, maybe the eyes of SE-DEV are lurking around...

If you want to post about how great the Nokia is, go to the Nokia page. Otherwise, nobody here wants to read that over and over. I'm sure if they're considering this phone, they're also considering, or have in the past, considered the N95 or a variety of other phones akin to these, and have, for whatever reason, decided against the Nokia, or are still deciding.

If you have a legitimate opinion, review, question, or otherwise. Be my guest. But if you're here just to bash this phone because you think Nokia's are better, just stop.

I'm no SE fanboy, in fact if I purchase this phone, it will be my first SE. Personally, I've owned many Nokias. They're great phones. My current phone is a Samsung, with a horrible battery life. After reviewing both this phone, and the N95 I have drawn my own conclusions based on my needs, wants, and lifestyle -- as most rational people do -- and have decided this phone to be more suitable for me in these areas.

You all nokia people are frustrated. Go to moto samsung lg forum. They will believe on your false experiance stories. NO to NOKIA.
