Can anyone please confirm if this phone has a default flash player capable of playing movies and music videos in Mpeg 4 and DAT file formats.

I have had this P1i phone or to be acc... moresomething maybe wrong with your P1i or you just have an awful bad luck! ...please don't try to promote E series, i am also at the same time a nokia user and i know for a fact how unstable their smartphone is, i just dont want to go through the lengthy details.
I just want to remain on topic, i have done dozens of MODS (not just installing applications, its different!) but until now my P1i is still stable. I even did the video and sound mod! now I got more than what i paid for my P1i

Hi All from the UK,
I have had this P1i phone or to be accurate 3 phones this past 12months. In general it is a good phone, I especially like the qwerty key board, less repetative wear for my right thumb! I haven't tried the predictive text as I have never really mastered it. The main fault I would pin to this phone is that it occasionally sheds the in built softwear and has had to go back to sony, twice! They have given me a brand new one each time, but...now it tells me my texts (sms) are not being sent, likebtwo minutes after I have sent one! So I guess it's back to the O2 shop in the morning to send it back. The screen is not very good in anything but dull weather when taking a photograph, any brightness drowns the screen so it's pot luck what the resultant pic is like. I fancy the Nokia E71 though or maybe a Blackberry.

Ciao! I've been using the P1i for 1 year & 3 months now. I've been a Nokia user since 1996. My P1i is my very first Sony Erisson phone. I would never go back to using a Nokia anymore. My P1i is great! I would highly recommend it to anyone who's planning to get one. No need to hesitate, it's definitely worth every penny. Especially now that it's price is down to half the price sine it first came out in the market. After using it for more than a year, I still haven't experienced any major problem. It once in a while hangs, but it's no big deal for me. I guess it's but normal for a smartphone. All it's features are amazing. I love it's Quickoffice application. The best thing that I like with my P1i is it's battery life. Up to now, it's battery life lasts up to 3 days of normal usage without charging. That's the main reason I won't go back to Nokia. I all have praises for this phone. This is my baby. It would take quite a long time before I would replace my P1i. To everyone who's planning to get a P1i, go get it right away while it's still available in the market! Cheers! :)

I'm planning to buy a P1i in November.
I hope that there are kind people who can answer my question.
P1i uses UMTS 2100 for its 3G.
Can the 3G of this phone work in USA (for high speed data transfer and video calls)?

Sound Mod - increase the volume without distortion, or;
Monster Bass - Increases the volume and the bass
carefull though, too loud volume could damage your ear.

E71 and P1i is in a totally different league. IF they are at the same price, go for E71, AFAIK. IF you can't deal with the qwerty of P1i, you're not gonna go far with it. (Recommend checking the keys before your decision, both qwerty has its own lovers.)

Hi I am planning to buy a phone...But I am confused between E71 and SE P1i. Both fits in my budget. Can P1i be installed with GPS? Please suggest which one should I prefer.

hi! kudos to this fone. the best one i have ever owned so far. i just have a question though. my wife was tinkering with it yesterday and she accidentally hid my videos. she pressed properties and marked the "hidden" box in the properties dialog box. now all my videos are gone. ive been trying to retrieve them but i dont know how. i misplaced my manual and i really need my videos back. somebody help me pls. lil_angel_913@yahoo.com. help would be greatly appreciated. thanx a lot. keep up the good work SE. your fones rock!

I'd heard about the legendary phone P1i, but never got my hand on it. Couple of weeks ago I bought my own and I was surely mesmerized.
It may lack some processing (which i believe is around 200MHz. But the phone works very nice and smooth. Not only that, a lot of people find it nice and say "It looks professional".
I am in love with its new keyboard and handwriting recognition. Chatting, Browsing the net, E mailing etc is now a simple task for me. Its business card reader too is a fascinating feature and I believe that reading wouldn't do. You must play with one phone to know how cool they are.
