For anyone who wants to play YOUTUBE videos on his/her P1i, download CorePlayer version 1.2.4 (or later). That's the only known way to play FLV (Flash) files.

Watch a video about installation on a Nokia device
Installing YouTube for Mobile is different depending on the phone so please follow the instructions for your phone below. If you need help with settings, please see the "Access Settings" article.
For Nokia devices, follow these steps:
                  1. From your phone's main menu, open your web browser and navigate to http://m.youtube.com/app
                  2. Select the appropriate link to begin downloading.
                  3. When asked to continue the installation, select "Yes" to agree. When prompted, select "Continue" and choose where you'd like to install YouTube on your phone.
                  4. Once the installation is complete, exit the web browser and you'll find the YouTube icon in the "Applications" or "My Own" folder on your phone.
                  5. After opening YouTube, review the Terms of Use and select "Accept."
                  6. Read the notice about YouTube data usage and select "Ok."
Note: You may need to change some network configurations before you can view videos. From your phone's main menu, navigate to the "Application" or "Media" menu and select the "RealPlayer" icon. Select "Options" > "Settings" > "Connection" > "Network" and select the appropriate default access point. Depending on your phone and mobile data provider this may need to be the same or different from the access point you chose for YouTube.
For Sony Ericssons, follow these steps:
                  1. From your phone's main menu, open your web browser and navigate to http://m.youtube.com/app
                  2. Select the appropriate link to begin downloading.
                  3. If you're downloading the signed version, you'll have the option to view the signer information. You can click this or click the download link directly.
                  4. After the download is complete, choose where you'd like to install YouTube on your phone, such as in the "Applications" or "Games" folder under File Manager.
                  5. After the installation is complete, you have the option of starting the application right away. Select "Yes" to open YouTube.
                  6. Review the Terms of Use and select "Accept."
                  7. Read the notice about YouTube data usage and select "Ok."
Note: You may need to change some network configurations before you can view videos. From your phone's main menu, navigate to "Settings" > "Connectivity" > "Internet settings" and choose the appropriate profile for both Internet profiles and Settings for Java. You must also choose the appropriate access point under "Settings" > "Connectivity" > "Streaming settings."

CORRECTION!!! if you put the correct settings (exposure, white balance, using the auto focus facility accordingly etc) you'll get a crystal clear picture. Finally with the price and not being a slider like N95, I highly reccomend this marvellous piece of machine

I'd like to tell the truth but then everyone will buy Sony Ericsson P1i and I'll be just one of them. Anyway, can't tell anything bad about my darling P1i, so will tell the truth anyway. It's a breath taking and fantastic phone which can make veryone's face "wOw" U never regret buying it. Keyboard is easy though my fingers are fat. And Very easy and fastest operation with the stylus, the wheel and side way "back" button. Camera is superb. If you've done a bit about photography, you'll feel what I'm saying. Those who say camera is not good, try learning about digital camera options. Bcz if you don't put the settings correct (exposure, white balance, using the auto focus facility accordingly etc) you'll get a crystal clear picture. Finally with the price and not being a slider like N95, I highly reccomend this marvellous piece of machine

sp, 06 Oct 2008sorry to spoil the party guys, SonyEricsson is throwing in ... moreyes, that might be true. SE might be abandoning UIQ3 platform and considering using either S60 or Windows mobile on their high end device, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

As of the moment, sufficient number of mods and/or application are available to improve the performance and stability of this phone enough to compete with the latest phones released. Considering that this is at least a year old phone, that is already an accomplishment. I believe that the mods/applications would still grow bigger as Uiq3 platform get more familiar to programmers and hackers who owns this phone.

Should SE decide to abandon the Uiq3 and its firmware update, its not necessarily a bad thing because the phone is already stable. For me, it no longer needs one.

minsky49, 07 Oct 2008sorry - 3.2 mpx camera, NOT 5mpxWell, sorry to burst your bubble, but the 3.2MP that it says around the camera lens is just not true. The max. resolution is actually 3MP. The extra .2MP is just a marketing trick by SE. Even Nokia phones with 3.15MP and 3.2MP cams can only shoot at a max. resolution of 3MP.
