i bot d p1i but did not test it at point of purchase.to my dismay on reachin home i found out it does not receive or even detect any network.pls m frustrated. what do i do

hi! i'm new here so i hope you can help me guys. me and my fiance recently bought a P1i.
I am totally loving the phone not until i found out the autofocus thing doesn't work...it does the autofocus 'sound' but it does not autofocus(sorry for the redundancy). my fiance's p1i seems to work fine. i have updated the firmware but to no avail. this problem is driving me nuts...
anyone with the same problem as mine?

I'm gett... morenot all P1i have the green tint issue to begin with, i think it is hardware related because the green tint issue is present only in the first batch of P1is produced. The best thing you can do now is to have the camera module changed at your service center.
It can never be fixed by firmware. Otherwise, it would mess up the camera of those P1i that doesn't have a green tint problem.

You cant install third party application on it and none are available to begin with!. so basically you are stuck with whatever application you have on your iphone.
It would have been nice if the phone has all the features, but NO, not by a long shot! some mid ranged phones have better features than the iphone. The touch interface is basically the only thing its good at.
iPhone even lack the most basic of phone functions such as sms forwarding.
so overall, if you will put them in the same category, P1i wins for its functionality. but iPhone is definitely not a crap, its just an expensive toy. If you don't care about your money then buy it, thats basically what fashion savvy person is about, and its in that category where iPhone shines.

click the drop down logo next to the signal icon >> then click new - recording. (hmmm... on second thought, im not sure if you can see it there by default. I mean, i made a lot of mods on my P1i that i think thats the reason why i can find the recording option in the drop down logo)

Well I have read some latest posts, and a person said that Iphone is an crap. Well to me it isnt a crap. I have Iphone and P1i aswell.. To be true to multitouch in Iphone is awesome, but why dont I like Iphone is because of its huge limitations. It makes my second choice because of this. P1i has lot of features 3.2mp, 8gb card change option, softwares mp3 etc. Iphones touch technology is unbelievable plus its fast and responsive, unlike P1i which hangs at time or restarts giving message restarted to improve performance...
so Iphone is good with its technology, but truly P1i rocks :P

i agree about what you said on iphone..a waste of money..if you are really wise i would go for,i mean why buy that much just because it has a brand and just to show off? theres a lot of other phones that has much better specs than iphone has to offer..

Sony Ericsson is undoubtedly a wonderful company that produces nice phones. I love these phones for a couple reasons. Reasonable price, choosing the correct features for phone etc are some of them. I would have loved if this had a processor faster than 203MHz, but I don't find any big glitches because of the small processor.
In general the phone is nice, the camera is just OK but the flash is shitty (LED). I enjoyed the couple of hours I spent playing with my friends phone and feel like buying one for my self.

maybe that guy is the exception (the p900 user) I am actually a P800, P910, And now, P1i user.....(glad I didn't bought p900 and P990) my dad bought the phone somewhere in the middleeast,,, and the firmware is actually already R9j005.... anyway,,, the phone is so

Its so cool to use, my friends even liked it. At first Iwas nervous about the keyboard. (though I really love it at first) but apparently became so useful, especially the dictionary (it remember words even tagalog)
My P910 is now USELESS, its like a beeper now. why??
1. the screen is broken (the ccd)
2. the flip is broken
with these defects, you cant txt the way you want such as the front keyboard, the qwerty keyboard, handwriting recognition and of course the onscreen keyboard.... duh its so useless now......
anyway those are just my resentment to the phone....
P1i is the best phone........ Thank God I didn't buy Iphone.... (its like buying a crap in your pants)

I have one question which I'm hoping someone will be able to give me answer for. When I do Internet Banking on my phone, it goes through as normal but the moment I need to authorise the transaction i.e. click on the link that gives the go ahead to proceed with transaction like a transfer, it goes back to my sign on screen without processing the request. Then I use my husbands phone(other make and model) and it works no problem at all. That is the only thing that happens that I cannot seem to get around. Please try it out and help if it is maybe one of my settings.
