Sony Ericsson is making some quality products. The difference of their phone with Nokia ones are just the difference between quality and quantity. I am having this phone for few days just as I loved my W810 am getting fond of it. Find all the functionality is just working fine. Touch screen is pretty well responsive. Signal strength is also good. Voice quality is loud and clear.
My W810 is made in Malaysia and really the build quality is excellent hope the present unit will be same' though it’s made in China.
Sony needs to make some improvement in their web browser.
Having a problem if anyone can render some help, my keyboard types Arabic characters only by default, actually the phone was Arabic version. I tried master reset and by loading the generic firmware for English but still problem remains same. Off course I can use the touch screen key boards in English.
Any help how to remove the Arabic language will be appreciated.
I am trying to get in touch with Axiom the warranty provider but any individual solution will save my hassle for taking it to the provider.

is the voice on P1 as loud as w910?
which is the better choice?
I've heard this one is sluggish and w910 freezes sometimes

This is a stunning phone. Can anyone tell me, though, if the phone AND memory card should be visible when I connect it to my computer? I have another Sony Ericsson, and when I connect it, it finds the memory card (eg F drive) and the Phone memory (eg G drive). On the P1 I only get one removable disk. I have tested the memory card on the phone (formatted etc) and it definitely reads it (the phone).

@semirumbi: try to configure 1st your wap/gprs/internet settings. call your mobile operator for this.

I have had this phone for over a month its way better then a LG Viewty... it has been very handy... it has tons of features... i was able to download over a dozen games and other applications for this phone. I am very satisfied. Yes the pen broke within the month but i bought bunch of spares and they didnt cost hardly anything... I would recommend this phone to anyone, looking for good phone.

Andy, 10 Aug 2008I bought my P1i about a month back..it freezes constantly n... moreYou should contact SE tech support and have the phone sent in for repair work which includes a firmware upgrade since it sounds like your phone is relatively new.
Many owners have reported problems and it turns out that the firmware is to blame.
Problem is... you won't have a phone for ~2-3 weeks so you'll need to buy a second phone for use or use an older phone which still works!

When i try to access 'web' APPLICATION from main menu , i get the following information; APPLICATION WEB CLOSED. REASON KERN-EXEC. REASON NUMBER 3 . what can i do to solve the problem? Plse help 2 be able 2 access the web.

I bought my P1i about a month back..it freezes constantly no one can fix it even Vodacom...am thinking of going back to the ever so reliable Nokia....dont buy this phone!!!!

Had my firmware updated and v. 3 was Not part of the upgrade.
The controls are on the touchscreen so it's rather frustrating especially if you listen to audiobooks and want to either fastforward/reverse to a specific spot, which you can Not!
If all you want is a "decent" media player in a phone, then the P1i is fine!
BUT... my P1i will NEVER replace my iPods since the iPods have MUCH better controls and user interface and media software (i.e. iTunes) than SE.

nope its not slower..when you install the speed boost application on it...hell i didnt think you know about it,right? once this baby is installed i dont think youre gonna say its slow baby..im also a former user of n95 and i swapped it with p1..overall im satisfied with this.i agree with the guy..even 10apps open it doesnt hang

The P1i is slower than the N93 Look and B... moreI think that the people that benchmark the p1i made one mistake and it is not to close all the aps . if i have 8 aps open then the phone is slow but my n95 it freeze with one app open and needs a complete restart of phone were i need to take the dam battery out and it has not happen to the p1i . i am so dissapointed of the n95 i gave it to my daugter , i wont even care if it gets stolen or broken infact the thief will do me a big favour to steel it so i can claim from my insurance and buy a second p1i for my wife.
