i bought the p1i however, my problem is the arabic feature... i don't know arabic but when i purchased the p1i in the philippines, i could not return it to get an american p1i...so can anyone help me...how do i get rid of the arabic features, especially when using sms as arabic fonts shows up?... iwent to the semicon, the sonyericsson warranty place and i was rejected because the phone is not an NTC compliant phone... so they said it is 50/50 in removing the arabic features and if it doesn't work the phone dies... i spent roughly $600 for this pone so can any one please help me? how do i get the arabic features on this p1i removed? granted it is an arabic p1i that i just happen to have bought in the philippines, which the sellers don't tell you about when purchasing the phone and all sales are non-refundable..please...how do i get the arabic p1i to become american?

THAM - If you have to call someone to track where they are, I'm sure any phone would do. That 'someone' will just have to say their location, right?

IVAN - P1 does not have a xenon flash (like the one in K800). But yes the camera works fine in daylight and it does have an LED flash which is kinda-ok. Would've been nice to have a proper xenon flash thou.

JOHNNY - I use the wifi at home and have never experienced any issue. But ya, my house is not a mansion.

WICCO - There's a lot of discussion on the internet whether Push Email (IMAP) is any better than POP3. So read some on that. Now, Yahoo, as far as I know, does not have IMAP, and charges you for POP3 access. Gmail has both POP3 and IMAP. You just need to configure your P1 to your new Gmail account and use IMAP for push email. You can set whether you want "always on" or can set the hours between which you want your emails to be delivered to your phone. Remember though that you'd need a data package from your mobile network, otherwise it could get quite expensive. And oh, I assume you already have GPRS/3G access to the internet from your phone. Otherwise you need to do that first before setting up your email. Hope it helps.

            HAVE A WONDERFUL 2008 EVERYONE.

                    hi everyone.
just got this phone like for 1 week and i must say it is a brilliant phone for its category and price. having use nokia nseries for ages, i was reluctant to use this symbian UIQ platform because it is not as user friendly and has no navigation key. despite this, the phone surprinsingly rocks. of course there is no way anyone can fully handle this phone with one hand only.at some point or another you will have to use the stylus.but you get use to the stylus after a while. here are my first impressions after a week:

Design: smart and stylish design.fits well in pocket and not bulky. i'm not use to the keyboard yet. i prefer by far to use the handwritting recognition for sms and notes. i must say, this feature rocks. not many phones around can do this.it's a real pleaure to 'write' stuffs.

interface: nice and different to S60. the fact that you can customize the shortcut gives you like a new menu page which you can personalize as you want(nice feature)

general feature: the office applications are really good. the general applications of the phones are above average. i am now adicted to the golf game.the phone hasn't hangs once since i have been using it.the camera feature is brilliant and the xenon flash is really nice.

i haven't used the advance features yet like email sync, web browsing via wifi or network, push emails etc

the only downsides are the fact that there no many third party applications for symbian UIQ platform compared to symbian S60 platform(nokia nseries). that's a shame

finally if you dont mind using 2 hands, and you want a nice business and entertainment phone, this one is definitely it.

                            Hi guys,
i have problem syncing contacts and calendar items from my MS Outlook 2003 to my P1i device; it gives me sync failure...everything seemed working fine, i mean that all drivers has been installed successfully and the device has been recognized by the PC, yet i can't sync.
i already updated my device firmware and installed the latest Pc suite.

anyone has a solution for this issue...its kinda essential for me and urgent...i really appreciate your kind help guys.

if you don't like P1i it doesn't mean that this phone sucks. you just have to find a handset that would suit your needs, within your budget, and in a way goes with your personality.

because, people certainly would not be satisfied even if phone makers come up with a phone that could even do their laundry, iron their clothes and walk their dogs...believe me.
