this phone is almost perfect! the only thing it lacks is a 5way navigation keys which makes life far easier than the jog-dial. I thought I already accustomed myself after months of just a jog-dial and side keys of the p1 but when I later happen to play around with my old nokia 6680 phone I was surprised how i miss the arrow keys and nokias user friendliest navigation.

P1i is the best phone i ever had. i currently own P1i, tytn II and iphone. In the past tytn, p990i, o2 xda II, p910i, p900

P1i is light, easy to use with one hand, and has everything i expect from a smartphone. its faster than p990i and it can become really fast with "tweak peaks"

tytn II has also everything i expect from a smartphone but its heavy, bulky, hard to use with one hand and slower than p1i (with tweak peaks)

iphone lacks 3g, not so easy to use with one hand, although easier than Tytn II and has the best internet browsing experience from all the phones i ever used.

if you work a lot with your phone, making and receiving lots of calls everyday and you need to be fast i suggest P1i.

I would like to thank Erik for the AnyConverter Appplication. Ive been looking for this all over the net man!

In Philippines: leche, binili ko yung sa kin 22k pa, ngayon mura na lang, pero ok lang hehehe, i so so love my phone.

In concern with battery performance, i believe that P1i has considerably performed better than other smartphones even if you use many applications. 10 hours of talk time? there's not much phone that can provide us with such performance. there are only a few in the market. Unfortunately, p1i is not one of them. Still, we can wait until famous phone manufacturer can provide our phones with such type of battery. As of now, we just have to wait.

Im not aware of installing arabic programs with my phone since the one im using is an asian release.

Contrasting a business phone from a multimedia phone? its kinda hard though here's my opinion:
A business phone is a phone that runs complete operating system software providing a standardized interface and platform for application developers and in terms of features, most business phones support full featured email capabilities with the functionality of a complete personal organizer. It is more concerned with providing business solution in small scale.
A multimedia phone is a smartphone more centralized on entertainment side often with PC-like functionality. that's all i can say for now.
E.G. n95 as the multimedia phone since it boasts 5MP cam, Plays most music format, has Realplayer and Flash, w/c entertainment peeps are digging, and P1i do better in business solutions application liker blackberry emails and push-e, have 256MB of ROM for multitasking, OptiMobile VoIP client(though sometimes its a pain to use), UIQ 3.0 software platform.

the p1i speakers are loud enough.

and the photos are surely admirable. with 3.2 megepixel ca, it simply rocks. and auto focus really helps a lot. the dual led flash wont let you down when taking your pics in the dark

I had a Nokia N95, and have SE K800i Samsung D820 and U600 But this phone is the best phone I have ever had. It is a mini laptop, a phone, and a multimedia device.

It can be used with one hand:
                      a) Press the Jog wheel located on the left side of the phone for:
                      - start, answer, or end a call.
                      - selecting
                      - mone the jog wheel up and down for scrolling.
                      - press and hold the back botton located under the Jog wheel to lock and unlock the keypad.
                      - Press the back botton to go back and to exit programs.
                      - Press an hold the back botton to close all screens and go to desktop.

                      To Praveen:
Yes video and images can be on full screen. Go to more } settings } preferences then choose the setting you like.

                      To Erik:
                      Thank you for the convertor

                      To Elpha:
                      1) No, but there is an application called mp3idtagger

                      To Balu:
This phone has built in Ms office ( word, excel, power point) also it has PDF+ reader

BALU, I'm not sure about Corel Draw, but this phone already has support for .doc. Also, you can install IM+ which is an all-in-one messenger - supports Yahoo, MSN, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber and ICQ. I guess these are all the popular chat softwares, right? Just realized that the latest version of Fring also supports most of these, but think IM+ is better (though unlike Fring, IM+ is not free)

PEACH, there'll SURELY be newer models of smartphones from SE and Nokia getting released in the future. There is absolutely no doubt about it. In this age of technological improvements, if one waits for a better product - smarter, more compact, with more features - there's a risk that he may find himself waiting forever. You just have to decide whether you need one now or not; and whether P1 is for you.

FATHALPERT, To my knowledge, P1 does support 3gp - recording and playing.

EVERYONE - If you need to convert video files from one format to other (including MP4 for mobiles and small music/video players), try downloading Any Video Converter from download.com. It has lots of formats and settings (bitrate, framerate, audio codec, etc), but still being very simple and fast. And best of all, it's FREE!

RAJ and OTHERS - I had installed Fring on my P1 quite a while back, but for some reason, it still wont let me make a Fring Test Call. Yes, it does say that it's not allowed on GPRS, but even when I'm on 3G or at home using Wifi, it still aborts the application with Reason Code KERN-EXEC and Reason Number 3 when I try to make a call. Anyone got any clues what the problem might be? My firmware is R9J005, and I have the latest Fring version 3.21(6) now.

I have had this phone for about 3 months now. Everything about it runs smooth. It is the ideal phone because it can handle any task.

The only two flaws are battery life and video streaming. Though the battery life is considerably above average, it is no where near 10 hours talk time. It's more like 6. Also, many people have been having problems streaming the .3gp videos. Real media works find but the most popular form of streaming video (.3gp) does not work. You've been warned.

ofcors N95 is better than P1i if you talk about camera or entertainment.
but its unfair to compare those two phones because they're not in the same category.

                                        N95 is a multimedia phone
                                        P1i is a business phone.

you can compare P1i maybe to Nokia E61i or other business phones of Nokia. or maybe to Treo phones, etc.
