I just bought P1 couple days ago and I had the same problem like what user "MichaelM" and user "maj" have. Everything works fine if I'm outside (good reception) but once I get into my apartment, the reception turns bad. From 4 bars, it fluctuates to 2 bars if I'm lucky and 1 bar. I thought it must be from my SIM card or something but when I inserted my sim card into my old sony ericsson phone (W880), I don't have any problem at all. signal works wonderful. I'm not really sure if AT&T has anything to do with it. I bought my old W880 from their store (it's locked) and i bought this P1 online (unlocked phone). I've also inserted my sim card to a nokia phone (i have good signal with it so that omits the sim card factor) and inserted a different sim card into my P1 (and still have weak reception) . I've disabled 3G on my P1 and just using a gsm connection based on what couple people said. I know this phone doesn't have EDGE. Is that one of the factor that make the signal weak?
Is updating the firmware on the phone will help the reception? How do you update to the latest firmware? I called the customer support and they told me to go to the website and just download the update service. will that help?
If someone knows how to fix this problem please let me know :) I really like the features in P1 and it frustrates me that I can't use it inside my apartment due to weak signal. I would really appreciate your comments.

i bought the pone last week, after 3 days, returned,WHY? the phone has a chinese chacters n could be updated. anybody knows what wrong w/ the pone

whoah? 32GB? are you serious or what?
im sorry but i believe that is already an exaggeration. As what the official website says, it has a treshold of 4GB only.
It needs a, well, better performing processor if you intend to insert a 32GB M2 on your phone.

It is a great phone.
I am using 4GB memory card and I think It can handle 32GB.
for contact search it is similar to other phones, just write one, two, or three letters and it will search

Bluetooth range of 5 metres only? That idea is absolutely crazy.
The effective range of Sonyericsson Bluetooth devices is 32 feet (10 meters). and did i mentioned effective? that means if you will go even 5 steps further from the source/recipient, you may be detected though exchanging data will be pain in the *ss.

Yep, it supports push email. I use Gmail with it & it works great.

Yes it does support push email. I am using IMAP from a service called Cortado, but I guess gmail supports it too.

u can search in ur contact by :
1.using the search icon(magnifying glass) and just type the required alphabet or
2. in the contact, just press ur required alphabet (key)or
3. in the contact, just write the required alphabet by using ur stylus.

I hate this phone. P1 SUCKS!!! I had random people hack into this phone and been sending text message to switzerland. I had these text messages out going from my phone that i had to pay for the text messaging bill. T-mobile customer service could not find any source of problem that they did not remove those charges. If anyone is getting this phone. i recommand not to get it because I just found out that every P1 phone customers are going through what i've been going through. random text messages to foreign countries.

themes for p1i are available at mobile9.com or at getjar.com. still you can search for a different site with google. ^^
