In today's world most of our contacts have more than one mobile phone numbers, especially if they travel a lot. When you synchronyze with outlook, outlook only memorizes one mobile phone number and disregards the others. If you lose your phone and want to synchronyze again from the PC, you lose the second mobile phone number. Isn't that stupid?

I just got the P1 and was surpised to find out that you cannot perform a search in your contacts, either by name or any other field. Does anybody know a way or a shortcut to do that?

I have my p1i for 2 weeks already the functionsare so great. Ive used n73 and p990i before but for heavy usage, this phone doesnt crash at all even if you open many applications all at once. nice battery life too. and yeah the wi-fi connection is so good. im here in the philippines and i enjoy it much even if 3g signal in here isnt that great. Moreover, ive downloaded the software to watch TV using this fone tohugh ity only captures cable channels, no local channels at all.
if your p1 is set on english-chinese setting,there are soft keys near the back button where as the 1st softkey can switch between chinese and english language for texting.

i had it for 3days now.. Pls help me.. my dictionary is in english-chine mode so i cant use it much. tried to change it by installing the pc suite but tha languange is empty, how can i do it? pls help.. also how can i install new themes?

Akil, I'm sorry, I am not sure what the issue is if it's not IM+ or some similar application. Maybe you could update yr firmware (if you dont have the latest one already), it might fix the problem.

hey ray thanks for the response but im nat using any program that will buzz me and its still happening even though i have the radio/music player running as the only program on the phone i thought that it might have been the screen saver but is wasn't

I had a similar problem as you guys. Radio would switch off after a few minutes. Realized that I had IM+ set to buzz me when a msg arrives or someone gets online. Well, when that happens, the radio is switched off. Check if you're using IM+ or some other application that's set to buzz you of some event.

SE P5 is likely to be announced early next year, but it won't be available until May or June. Long wait but it is worth it though because it would be almost-perfect phone from Sony Ericsson.

Hi!
1. No, the P1i doesn't have a call recording feature.
2. Google Maps does not fully support UIQ3, meaning although you can use it, some features of the phone (touchscreen for example) will not work. The new Google Maps without the required GPS module is still in beta so it's not very complete in the very sense of the word. In my opinion though, maybe in a few months, we'll be able to use the full features of Google Maps.

dear all,
I heard from different people who used it that the P1 is bad in some locations in Egypt as there is no signal in the mobile although other mobiles in the same place with the same network is good.

To recent question posted:
1) To search for wifi available:
I usually turn off the WLAN until I'm ready to use because it uses power. When you are in the WLAN setting, hit on "MORE" then hit on "enable WLAN". Then hit on "SCAN" and it'll show the networks available (if any), enter the WEP key.
2) Transfer music from computer to memory card:
You do not need to install any special programs. When you connect the phone to the USB, make sure to select "file transfer" mode on your phone. Then in your computer go the the removable disk drive for example - f:
The go to wherever you store your MP3's and drag the files over to the music file in the removable disk drive.
I usually use itunes and drag the music files that way. It's pretty fast - 20 songs take like a minute or two.
3) Radio and music player:
I haven't had any issues with the music or radio automatically shutting off on it's own. You always call up sony support.
4) Updates:
I recommend running the updates from the sony website or from the CD that comes with the phone. I updated my phone to R9J005 and I noticed applications open and close more smoothly.
Finally I have question:
I installed google maps onto the phone. The most it can do is show an adress that I type in. I can pan around and view in satelite mode. However I cannot zoom in or out using google's directions (3 to zoom in, 1 to zoom out)
Does anyone have any solution to this? Also the touchscreen in disabled during google map use. What should I do?
