After a period of 2 weeks of hardly usage I've registred only one minus: if your option for key locked is AUTO and you make a long phone call then, when you want to end the call, you must unlock the phone.
In my opinion this is the best phone for those who wants phone, camera, office aplicatons, mp3 player, organiser at the same time.
Try it!

I bought the SE P1i 2 months ago.I assure everyone that its a superb phone. The sound clarity is just amazing. The only problem is that the phone does not show the cell info display on the main screen. If i activate Area info, I keep getting sms's from the operator about the area info which is very irritating. If anyone can help for the same. I'm in India and using the BPL Mobile service.

            @joche

great camera? you must still have the original software on your phone. Pictures from my are grainy and there is a lot digital noise when taking pictures.

Just one question: Are the battery times claimed for real or is it just a claim? Could someone verify this?

most of the memory related issues of the p990i have been solved in the p1i.

it's much more stable than the p990i & no restarts or out of memory errors occured during my use. not even while listening to the music player & opening about 5 other programs.

In Bangladesh the price of Sony Ericsson P1 is 34,000 Taka and the price of Nokia N95 is 44,000 Taka. So, if you are considering the price Sony Ericsson P1 is better. I believe, if I need a 5 mega pixel camera, I will buy a digital camera with optical lance. A 3.2 mega pixel camera (Sony Ericsson P1) is more then enough for a mobile phone. The GPS of Nokia N95 is not is not useful in Bangladesh. And if you are thinking about a smart phone, Sony Ericsson P1 will be the best choice. (October, 2007)

The P1 is not very good the music player causes my phone to crash almost every time.

                                N95 v/s P1i! (I had an N95.sold it and got P1i on upgrade)

Like most SE and unlike any Symbian Nokias, battery life is amazing for a smartphone. I can't recall any new smartphone having a better battery life. Am on my 2nd day without charging(above average usage), batt indicator has been flashin for 4 hrs yet I have managed to use it for wifi, text and call.

No GPS but the GPS on N95 was poor!

Wifi b v/s g-not much of an issue. Most networks support b and g.

UIQ v/s Symbian....whoaaaah! SE wins by a wide margin.a lot more user friendly than symbian.

Form factor is very good. N95 had a poor slider and poor build qlty.

drawnack so far: maybe i need getting used to but u can only use the audio player when the phone is unlocked. when locked, I cudt find any shortcut buttons to change track or volume.
would help to have profiles. but its nt much of an issue as there are quik links to lower volume or put phn on silent.
ATM there seems to be a problem with WPA security level for wifi. I had to bring my wireless security to WEP to connect to wifi. been reported to SE and they are apparently looking into it.
a dedicated key for calls would have made been useful bt not much of a hindrance.

My advice, go for SE above most handsets if you value yr batt life. SE seems to have an equivalent to everything out there, with better functions-okay, not as many smartphones available, but the P1 is as good as most. defo better than nokia.
Those who have yet to decide, try them both. but I would defo advise on the P1.

Pricewise, it didn't matter to me as both the N95 and P1 were free for me.

And if anyone is waiting for the 8gb N95, well check out the SE W960-a damn good looking phn.

I have heard people complaining abt the availability of software for P1 but have yet to check it out myself. can anyone report on that plz?

all in all this phone is an excellent choice for any potential buyer in case one can look around the qwerty keyboard. also, its a pity that this brilliant phone is not quad-band. rest assured, its a real treat.

                                        hey all ,

I was wondering , any Singapore user of P1 here ?
I have heard many good things bt this phone and of course , there are some negative comments ( alarm , chinese text ) .
                                        is it true ?
