Screen Colors and Speed….All Sony Ericsson phones have better picture/screen color quality in their class. Take K700i phone and match it with any Nokia phone. Or just say see the same picture in Sony Ericsson and Nokia. You will see the difference. Try it. This is a challenge. I have tried various N series and normal S60 phones and let me tell you they take substantial time when you open anything from picture to applications or simply a shortcut. If Sony has decided to continue a particular processor and OS then there must be some reason for it.
Remember SONY make Vaio, Cybershot, Alpha , Walkman, Vega, Bravia and lot more things including GPS devices. . Go to www.sony.com so they have expertise and experience. Ericsson has it’s own expertise . They do not use low quality material. So they are little expensive. P1 is not slider because heavy use can loose its slider. Don’t get rude. It’s a fact. Some Walkman phones have slider but to play walkman you don’t need to open it because music keys can be used without opening it. Fossil's MBW-100 Bluetooth watch is supported by Sony Ericsson.
And please Don’t compare it with N95. Sony Ericsson has it’s own class.

Don't buy dis fone. Too big. And who wants to use a stilus anyway? I'll keep my ultrathin RAZR. Yes baby, king of fonez!!!

I tried this device briefly yesterday,
and my quick opinion was that it has
a very solid, genuine feel to it.
The speed of the menu system stunned me
most of all.
Light years faster than say, that of the M600 which I'm currently using.

Guys, as you've read before some phone (be it SE or Nokia) may have some or alot of faulty compartments in the device compared to its brother in arms... Not all phone are perfect. Its up to you guys to figure out which ones is the best... Just remember, by the end of the day all we talk & fight about it just a piece of device that we called telephone...

P990 seller,
you were able to sell your P990
because somebody wants/likes it!
proves P990 is likable
even if it's second-hand!!!
i know you'll sell your N95
in a short time use...
for me, i'll buy P1 and use it
till there's an improved model of it...

please read the review.
xenon flash is for the
camera series only (perhaps)
the K790, K800, K810...
you can't have everything in a bundle

oh wow wat a fone! someone pls confirm it has xeon flash? thanks a bunch! this is a must have fone but 3 mp without xeon flash?

Yes it's always good to see some new product. But who thinks what one really needs. Where is the GPS + Navigation? When we will finally see optical zoom in handheld devices? In which century do we live that we can't get 640x480 screen? And what about the price? Again 500 EUR, I guess.

one more time SE has prooved that the quality is better than quatity : am talking about P1 which is must have fone , whereas nokia keep on releasing fone with uncessary features n especially a firmware which NEVER STABLE AT ALL!! i just test the n95 today n trust me guys its just a new fone among millions , ALL N SERIES R D WORSE NOKIA MISTAKE . SE is the best !!! SE rocks ! f*ck nokia!

i think we all people should not only stare at the written specs of the phone but also we should focus on the quality it gives to us. let's not judge the phone yet until we explore, used, or played with them. it is natural that some users who had experience will complain about the lack of the specs but if you compare it with the lack of quality then it's another story. P1 will perfectly show us on how SE develoers focus on the UIQ issue.

have you tried the great N95 i'm using it right now after my beloved P990i believe it got more bugs more jams more problems than any UIQ phone ever it hangs 2-4 times a day it restart it self 2-3 times a day and it's a S60 and half of it's features doesn't work correctly even that i've updated my firmware my P990i was the greatest smartphone ever in every thing it got 262k display but it's better than the 16mil of n95 try it in real then judge my word the WLAN in P990i is b class but it's faster and more stable than the b/g UPnP in n95 it got large touch screen and full QWERTY keyboard than makes my e-mails so easy to write and the 5MPix it's crap the 3.2MPix of the N93 or K800 is better in quality and clarity i'm not saying that the n95 is a bad piece of tech but it's so over rated and it got lots and lots of software issues the tv out is a great feature the video recording is great sound quality the build quality is cheap it's all creackin and squeecking not a solid construction at all even mine is the finland version and for the procesor the P990 and P1 both shared the same 233 mhz or more im not pretty sure it's alot faster than the 330mhz of n95 90% of the people are amazed by the written features but have you tried it in real there is a big differnce in real SE P1 support microsoft OpenGL do you know what a great 3D accelrator got i think they put the same graphics chip that they put in the w900 nVidia goforce 5500 wich is better than my laptop but in the end SE lack the design and some features i think they reduced the features in order to reduce the cost the P1 is just a first step the next P will got all the bling bling in the marke t but the P1 is targettin the mid buisness market

Hi sony ericsson where the inovation frankly its still week mobile what is the difference between p990i its still week i expecet that the serious of P will be A big BOOM but i dissapointed when i saw this Camer 3.2 nokian95 go with high 5mp where is the Edge
week week n73 is 3.2 where is the competitve haa....offffffff wish u good luck in the next P i think it will 5mp and nokia gonna go with 10 MP...

SE does not get it. Why did they not keep the P900-910 form factor,i.e. flip keyboard that is removable and full screen. That was the best of everything single hand usage, full screen and if you don't like it remove it.
Once SE was the leader in touchscreen smartphones but they will soon play the catch up as other manufacturers focus on touch screen phones.
I had P910 did not upgrade to P990 and will not even consider this phone.

the phone looks good but the features are not in full boost.
wifi is only 802.11B and they should have made it 802.11G which has a big difference in speed and very noticeable when you use it. this is important since this is considered business phone.
why no EDGE? when there's no UMTS signal available, EDGE support will compensate the speed of data... but they didn't put it and again, this is important since this is lined up for business phone.
they did put a QWERTY keyboard but its so awkward to use and im sure you'll make a mistake pressing unwanted key when your typing. i wish there's an option for multi-tap texting rather than QWERTY.
other than these three things, everything looks good.

hey all,
i read some of your comments, i use P990i, i wouldn't mind changing my headset to P1 since its less bulky and the 3.2MP is better and if the RAM is more, good enough. but we always have to upgrade the firmware coz of bugts and etc etc. so by next year,.. just hope the P1 will be better and at the same time the newer headset will be much more powerful. 10MP, Auto SIP, maybe less then 99gms, the only thing i am put off is they could have improved much better this time.
anyway i love SE and will stick to it.

This phone can indeed handle a 4gb M2 memory.
And would you guy's please stop comparing it to Nokia N95? As I see it this is a M600 with a camera and WLAN, only prob with SE smartphones is that they doesn't support the message function in MBW100, but I've learned to live with it.. If you are looking for a phone with great battery and a small-buisness functions stop looking. But if you're after a phone witch is so full of meaningless programs that'll drain your battery then keep looking at Finlands way....

after its announcement many start comparin it with n95!
strange!why?
p990/m600/p1 aint meant for multimedia focuses.
They are mainly for business purposes.
someone says n73 and n80 is better!
strange! why!
if y' go to nokia discussions y' will see a pic of n73 and n80 users gettin fooled by only 18-20 mb of ram which often falls to runout of memory.
huh!
nseries are nothin but a-- klowns untill they bring bout greater ram size .
so, it would be wise to compare it with e90 and see the differences.
like alan, i am not a nokia fanman nor se,
I use N91,lol.
