This phone is OLD!!! Has a DEAD OS and is UGLY
New phones are much better. Try newer models from SE, Nokia & Samsung. You'll see the difference
I'm getting rid of my unit after 3 months use. I don't know why i got it in the 1st place
- The interface is not finger optimized, you need a stylus to do everything - annoying
- Every feature has to be HACKED in order be of some useful purpose, and this can ruin the phone
- You have to waste hours trying to hack the thing, when we actually pay SE for a complete fully featured unit
- The interface is very slow - It takes ages to go from one screen to another
- Phone starts freezing frequently after some time use
- You have to periodically format/re-flash the phone because gets very buggy after some time
- It has so many bugs but will never get updated - UIQ is dead
- The touchscreen is ancient, unlike new touchscreen phones you have to press a lot
- The QW-ER-TY keyboard is annoying and difficult to use
- Old, rickety, ugly design
Overall, very old phone that deserves the trashcan

It's all over very good phone,,Camera 3.2is best,Music ,,mega bass is their, Qwerty K.b is their, Expandable upto 4gb is their,,,,U Can say its complete package,,Da best phone,, M using since last 6months,,,,All over,,,Da Best,,

And it's really ... moredude there seems to be problem with your handset. get your software updated and as far as wifi is concerned i use it almost like everyday and works fine and for the applications which i have many go to the original site of SE i.e. www.P1-Choice.com

I had this phone for almost an year now... And it's really not what I expected... Not one application that I install work... I go for the sites that have UIQ 3.0 tested programs and It doesnt work... The only things it seems to work is gmail and google maps... but very poorly, because almost every time I use google maps, it freezes...
And when I use wi-fi with the Opera Browser, it almost everytimes, after a while, it boots... or freezes... I think he has a very good potencial, but it can't seem to meet them...

i have one for the past year and a half and this phone is surely something to write praises about. but firstly the problem that surrounds this phone is its jog dial(got repaired twice), that is the only thing that has given me problems and yes the speaker was replaced once. talkin about rest the battery still gives impressive times after such long time and to tell you ive used it for more than 2000 hrs (total call time. the screen and camera are good and with rest everything at its best

i've been using this phone for more than 4months now. i wanted to know what different is p1 with upgraded firmware? also i wanted to install some applications. i'm focusing for coreplayer. i've surf several website for uiq3 applications. i'm confused with signing and unsigning type. any suggestions?

its an amazing phone with all best features of cell phn as well as pocket PC, I love it so far :)

CHAI, 09 Mar 2009I bought P1 in Aug 08... It has been working fine till now.... moreregarding your problem, do not choose automatic network selection. Choose the manual network selection.

I've been using this phone for a year and 2 months. I really loved it. The features are great.The battery lifetime is so amazing. I used e buddy appliaction to chat to my friends in yahoo messenger and in msn.

This phone Sony Ericsson P1 is awesome..I've been using it for the last five months and I am in love with it...Would recommend everyone to buy it.
Unlike most other Sony Ericsson handsets P1 gets contaminated by viruses..so be careful of what u r downloading and where from!!!

that's good to hear.then if this phone isn't winmo based, are there suitable application that supports online chat.i've tried several apps but too bad it's no longer supported when i installed them.what happen to that?i have friends experiencing many phones that has damaged battery because being online for too long and caused by heat from charging while being online.what i meant is the small battery inside the phone.i really don't know what it is and the main battery is flat.is it common in all phones including for p1?thanks
