P990i should automatically download the settings for globe.
you can also check they're customer service webpage and they have a pdf file for manually setting your P990i for gprs, internet, mms, streaming

is your phone a p990i? is it genuine and registered and from a very reliable source or shop? do you see the antenna icon at the lower left corner of the display? when you click it what does it say on the dialog box? cause i think its your phone that has a problem, and it needs to be checked at a sony ericsson or semicon service center,

I agree with you, SE should release new P-series with the traditional flip. I don't know why SE really takes long time to release P990i's successor.

hi.. im from the phil. and I can't activate my mms and video call.. I cold globe and they're letting me call sony ericson because they don't have the correct settings for it.. like for ex. they're looking for pc and cs only but wat i have on my fon is pc only and a diff option for cs only..

my p990i's volume is poor its on max volume but the sounds is not that loud, what i need 2 do? help pls... tnx

So many endless little problem makes this very expensive phone one big disappointment.very slow to start up and change interphase, will blank out if call comes in middle of an ongoing command.Why !!!

Can i minimize programs like games, software etc and restore it again. like nokia symbian phones.If possible plz tell how can i do it.

can any body tried listening to music, through normal bluetooth headset (not stereo or A2DP). coz someone told me it is not possible. plz confirm.

Same problem. All local sms reflect 3hrs ahead, instead of local time. I emailed SE, and was told to contact service provider. service provider told me that the problem is not on their end. People using Nokias etc dont face this problem.
Guess we're stuck with this

I have been using the P990 for the last 3 months, during which the phone has gone back to the service center 4 times due to an issue that no one here can seem to figure out. I am using a 2GB memory stick, I have also tried the same with a 1GB stick and the standard 64MB stick that comes with the phone. Regardless of how I transfer my mp3's, i.e. via disc2fone, usb file transfer, bluetooth, the issue is the same. I can transfer upto 20 songs, or around 120MB, and the anything transferred after that is not recognized by the phone. It has caused the phone to crash and restart and twice, it has crashed, and was not able to restart without being reset by the service center. Can anyone tell me why this is happening, how it can be fixed, whether it CAN be fixed. Is it a limitation of the phone, or should I upgrade the firmware from the SE website? Please note that we have tried the same thing with another P990 with the same results. Our location is Pakistan.

to avido:
go to any authorized service center of SE and they will upgrade the firmware of your p990i but up to R9F011 only. no available R9GA001 yet in the phils. there is one at robinsons galleria ortigas, ground floor near food court. CHOW!!!!!!!!
