I don't know where you are looking, but there are many new p990's on ebay, and I have been browsing over several sites that have them, just because you don't know about them doesn't mean they don't exist...and i didn't mean to tell people to wait a few months, but you shouldnt have to be pressured to run and buy it today...like i said, several sites i have asked have said that the p990 stock is steady and they don't see them selling out in the next month or so.

There is any Picture & Sound(through headset) quality difference between new firmware(R9GA001) and previous version (R9G007)?

try to set Update System Time to "Never".
and also disable Daylight saving time.
all these options are under Time&Date

Hi i just bought P990i last week. The phone is SUPERB but how can i make my phone works more better??? thanks. and i cannot use the USB file transfer with windows XP. What is the compatible OS to use? thanks again.

I just got the P990i, i'm excited but not to happy. the battery it drains out so quick if im on the net, then if i want to download a video clip it pretend its downloading but if you open the file is corrupt. is there another program that it will solve my problem about downloading a video clip. by the way i change my memory stick to 2GB, thanks

that secret menu thingy is the coolest thing i've ever seen. if only they had a way to test ur screen saver for problems bcuz mine doesn't work after the new firmware upgrade (well i should say it doesn't work properly)
If you know any secrets about solving screen saver problems please let me know.

To SHaKeel i'm not sure how to help you. I updated my firmware automatically from the update service software that i downloaded from the sony ericsson US site. Here's the file name
Download Update_Service_Setup-2.7.6.8-1.exe
and here's the link to the above file name

but be warned, my screen saver started to malfunction after the update.
If you want cda1 maybe you should just visit the sony ericsson U.S. site and when choosing ur region while updating choose the US maybe then u'll get the version of the cda u want.
As i stated before this stuff is a little over my head which is why i was coming to u guys.

How do you dial numbers when you remove the flap from the phone. Does an onscreen kepad come up or is the qwerty linked to the screen interface in some way? I really like the specs of the phone but hate that damn flip!
Also is the P1 worth all that extra money or could I consider this phone a real bargain?
Another option for me is the M600, but t lacks Wifi. Not serious but i would like to know if the SW performance is identical to the P990... because it is a steal at the moment.

receiving status (inbox) and delivery status about
3 hours forward diffirence in both sections whats
its reason can b i m very very tense because of
this still i m unable to find its reason? i set
the time with many other zones and with current zone home zone and
interest zone with but cant find reason? Same problem i had
faced with R9G007 this problem was not with R9F011 i want
to go with Genric 1 mean CDA/1 can some one send
me the link where from he download the update file

Thats not network problem i have also checked this thing with other 3 networks sims (Connections) but same Problem
with these Sims but only with this set but as i inserts these sims in other sets like Motorola ,Nokia, P910, Samsung, no problem no wrong receiving no wrong delivery status

I have a P990 and it works fine. Recently when I connect to my WIFI the phone restarts itself and says the phone has restarted to improve performance. Why does it do that?

Hi Excess,
If you tell people to wait for this phone P990, most likely longer they wait and will ended up with a used/refurbished phones. If you can recall back about 4 months ago on this website that there were 4 dealers selling this phone. Recently only 1 PhoneUSA $315 and now Overstock $545. Most online and local dealers in my area are discontinued carrying them already. I still don't know what you guys are still waiting for. The price is very low now. I had this phone for over a month now and it didn’t even freeze once. This phone is fast and worth $600. I’ve been installed 15+ P990 appz (sis), 15+ games (sis), 100+ games (jar) with no problem. The looks and features of this phone is outstanding.

great phone. only problem: the alarm doesnt sound if the phone is switched off. SE is aware of it, but no resolution. Apparently the phone operates like that. otherwise great handset

Go for P1. I've been using P990 for almost a year now (Oct. 2006)and planning to replace my old model P990 to P1. My friend have just bought P1 and it is wonderful. Very fast and camera (3.2Mpixel)is fantastic and you can't see the difference against N95 5.0Mpixel camera as I'm using N95 also. Those who are still planning to buy P990, I would recommend to buy P1, you won't regret it. What makes P1 far better than P990 is having stable OS, fast, decent camera, brighter screen, thin and lightweight, with a very functional semi-QWERTY keyboard, unlike P990 too tiny keyboard even it's a full QWERTY.
