Just got the phone 2 days ago. Having problems connecting it to pc. I installed the pc suite and the phone is in transfer mode, but for some reason the pc doesn't see a phone connected. I don't think it's a defective USB cable, since the phone reads 'USB connected' Is there a driver that I need to install first?
Anyone had this similar issue? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have just acquired Sony Eriscsson P990i, it is a wonderful set so far, It is just all in one, PDA,mobile Phone,Palm Top. I love it. from Nigeria, Kaduna.

can anyone know how can i upgrade my p990 Wi-Fi 802.11b?other place we cant afford to connect because the class of p990 only Wi-Fi 802.11b ,and many mobile is support Wi-Fi 802.11b/g ! this is a only big dissapointed for me ! i hope u guy can get me a good reply thank !

Hi everyone,
Just bought a New SE P990i from china. It took a while to change the language to english..B'cos i don't understand chineese :D..its a cool and super business phone....with all its features and the accessories u get with it..it a value for money product....
I have a CXC162037_R9F011 firmware on my mobile..the only problem i find is that i cant find any language file for this version of the firmware....it has only Chinese and UK English on it....
If anyone has the language files for this firmware version pls let me know how u got it..
According to my opinion its scores a 8.5 out of 10....

Just bought this phone yesterday. What i can say that its great. Upgraded to firmware and it doesn't "hangs" as stated. With the price drop its is most certainly worth getting this phone which has great features at a bargained price. For those who still consider getting, get it!!!

i just bought my P990i 3 days ago and updated my firmware right away from their website.
my firmware is now:
Phone: CXC 162037 R9G007
CDA: CDA 162007/2 R6D23
you need to install the update service in your computer. you can download it from sony ericsson's official website. make sure you backup your phone first using the CD software that came with your phone package.

Lots of people here in baguio city Philippines were using P990 since the price go down to 15K and it's nice to see that most of the Filipinos here were P990 users and i can hardly hear any complain in them after updates! P990 has even a cheaper price than an SE W880!

i dont know what they sell for that price (14-15)but if you buy it on a trusted store and they will definitely give you a warranty i dont think any problem with that dont you tink?....so go ahead and buy it although i bought mine in smart telecom (line)..you will sure have problems when u start operating it due to low memory and applications running on the background but you can still correct that if u instal a swiss manager pro!!!!..if u still dont know how to fix the problem with the battery..theres plenty of tip here so you better read it and i can tell you they really works wonder!!!! mine last for 2 days with the extensive use of my pon.....call,txt,internet,yahoo messenger,browsing music and video and even the radio..damn to many to mention!....awesome!!!!!...and the form factor really looks cool and pricey!!!....
with all the reason i give....its really hard to bilieve that this phone really is 14-16t.
to all the people here, dont under estimate the power of p series coz they really live to the hype where they belong!!!!!!! wayyyyyyy backkk.....thankz you people and hey! dont drink and drive!!!!

P990i is not cheap. It's getting cheaper now because it was on the market for almost a year now. I bought my device during its first day it was launched in Saudi Arabia at a cost of 3,000 Saudi Riyals. Don't plan to buy this anymore because it is old and I am already waiting for its successor. Just wait for the P1 or W960 to be available later this year. I don't know some people are still planning to buy P990i the fact that this device is almost one-year old. I am using N95 at the same time and I would suggest to buy N95, but if you don't like Nokia just wait for the release of P1 or W960 rather than to buy an old, old P990i which is not worth investing anymore because, again as I have said, it's old. OK

hey! i beliv the cost depreciate that fast. you think 16k- 17k is a first class--not fake P990i phone. i really want to have this one but im confused with the price. i guess it's too cheap for an excellent brand, performance & features..pls help me decide on this. pls tell me if the price is for orig or imit one.thanks

this phone is perfect!!and i really cant imagine y the price go down....this phone deserved to be at least 25-30t in the philippines.....but they sell it for 14 to 16t....how sweet! this is really a bargain for everybody!!! sure it have some flaws but my god, sony company repairs it by making updates!
