i cannot get my PC to recognise my P990i with the USB cable. I have installed he latest PC sync software from Sony site as well as updated the phone software but still no joy. I also tried the bluetooth connect but that fails as well. Any ideas?

how to disable the 3G in my P990i?? the 3G of my operator(GLOBE PH) is having problems. I noticed that when in 3G the signal of my p990i is very low sometimes none but when there is no 3G my signal is full...
how can i disable my 3g?? thanks!! ^__^

simply the boom. But i have a question? Can you download Skype on it. Skype its like a messenger were you talk and see each other that is if you have a webcam. What happens with the p990i in these case?

Yu Huuuuuu i did the update again now its showin r9f001 and its recognizing the SIM ho hoooo. i hope now it wont hang without a reason and my phone wile work as it shuld

hey friends i updated my phone sucesfuly but now it is not recognizing my sim it stops at NO SIM screen....when i start fone it gives a scroll bar when it reaches 80 percent it stops and asks for fone mode or flight when i click fone mode it says no sim help help help....i m in india... is it that now it just recognizes 3g sim??

Im planning to buy P990 but i hear that the phone need new firmware R9F011, is this firmware come with the CD when i purchase the phone or where can i dl this firmware ?

I tried but its only for older P-series. Do u or any1 else know what antivirus software was in the memory card when bought new? I bought it 2nd hand.

To veryone who asked about firmware.
There is a new firmware that will fix your problem. The latest ones are as follows:
Phone: CXC162037 R9F011
Bluetooth: CXC16258 R5A01
Organizer: CXC162036 R5A17
CDA 162007/1 R5A13
You have to pay attention at the Organizer firmware where all problems are not the phone firmware. It is working properly. So the latest firmware is R5A17

HELP! I have done several software updates before but for some reason my update this time has been STUCK at 92% for the past 1 hr. I called up SE support and they said sometime it can take up to an hour or so. I know my window isnt frozen or nething cuz the animation in the update window is still active. SE support told me NOT to disconnect the phone in any circumstance. Any ideas? Thanks

SUPER COOL! I like the phone, i have it about for 2 months and it's very cool. I read most of user comments here and what i saw with my phone was not true. Phone it's working perfectly, not blocking at all, aplications are loading fast and the sound it's loud and clear. This phone was the perfect choice for me :)

Guys it was discussed 100 times here!!! Just read some posts here and don't ask again the same questions. So - IF you have a branded phone i.e. coming from your cell operator like Vodafone or Orange etc. you may NOT have the latest Firmware but the one which is SPECIFIED to your operator/country.

The only solution is to look at FlipOpen Shortcuts menu where is also Today screen with meetings, unread messages, recent calls and tasks.

my phone version is r9ea001 but i tried to the download the latest firmware through update service. it should be r9f001 but my phone version is still r9ea001

where to update the lastest firmware update R9f001, i just updated the firmware through sony ericsson wesite but my version is jus REA001 after the update

the transition is the animation in your phone, if u turn it off the animation is off.. it really makes ur faster,wid dat off u can really see the real speed of the p990....
example of the animation, with the flip closed mode, when u press the shortcut key of the calendar ull see dat the calendar icon enlarges ryt?? that't one of the transition

the usual average of the battery life of my p990i is 2days with 200sms everyday and 5mins multimedia but no net.

update your firmware... it will resolve your software issues.. and even make ur phone better
