Dear very strange problem now light not turn Off
during incoming or out going call i have the same
firmware u r runing with but what is this to me this same thing

Man you upgrade for free from Sony EricssonWebsite - go to technical support, there is the upgrade service. Just follow the instructions, that's easy!

Hello guys,
SE has released their new P1 mobile and it is similar to our P990 in many ways except the cam. and the memory.
Though it uses OS9.1 and UIQ3 but is supports VOIP as it is mentioned here:

can anyone tell me if it is possible to upgrade our P990i to have the VOIP feature please.

Yes after the 7hour works hard i got the latest
firm ware after upgrade Difference's
Berfore
There was no option for speaker phone
There was no option for send the beamed msgs
now we can send also move to the folder where
we to move
Now
Speed is good now its fast ear peace volume is louder
Not hanging problem now i m satisfied with it

So much promise, so much failure. Now I am lost in the cell phone using a Nokia 1100 all cause this phone sucked so bad. I just don't know where do go next?

Just updated to the latest firmware and all I can say is if you have this phone do it as soon as possible.It makes a considerable difference to the performance and speed of the phone.This is what the phone should have been like or at least close to when they released it.Very pleased.Well done SE.Did it on a 3G connection and it took me about 25 minutes.Had no problems whatsoever.Just make sure you have all the requirements and follow the instructions.Take your time.Its pretty straightforward.

does it deserve to be manufactured ?
it's only has upgraded 3.2MP camera with twin led and a M600i like keyboard ,also with longer stylus pen and smaller 2.6" screen
but does the increased inner memorey (160MB) make it more sensible to use ? or they loaded it with more apllications ?
notice it has the same UIQ 3.0 of Symbian 9.1 while there is 9.3 & 9.5

I didi not eperience that but
1. Connect the phone AFTER it tells you to connect
2. BEFORE any upgrade CONNECT the USB to the computer and be shure that you PC can SEE the cable, and USB the drivers are OK
3. Use Internet Explorer

To ahmed: ur update service installation is corrupt. I had the same issue and heres what I did: uninstall update service, deleat tmp files and cookies, restarted comp., reinstalled update service. Then restart pc, allowed the m3aplatform to acess the internet through firewall. Then shut down m-Router and pcsuit from taskbar. Start update service. Result: It started working.

hi guys,the problem while upgrading is when i downloaded se update software and then i instaled it after that i conected the fone.the when i opend the update file it open into a flash page it asked some end user agreement i accepted it. then it asked wat was the latest fone, i selected p990. then i clicked on continue and it came back to the first page is tnis the corect way?

Your firmware is very old and your friend has ancient software. This is not possible to have a great P990 with this firmware you have.
