and shakeel pls update your firmware to the latest one it is way way much better than r7 and you will like the phone more there are too many bugs in r7

i dont know abt you doministry but any incoming no can be seen provided you have a call line ident activated with your network for me i can see the no of anyone who is calling me

Mine is what about this?
this set is not bad but there is lot much difference with 910i but still i like 910i
in 990i i like its battery very much very fast charging and standby timing is also good

I think with the incoming call U also don't see the number IF it is in your phonebook.
BUT after calling or receiving call go to call log - then you can check it.
My Firmware is CDA CXC162007/1 R5A13. This is the latest firmware available for this unit, for World Generic 1

I don't know your problem, I was upgrading few times with no prob, step by step.
Do U press C ulness IT SAYS you to release when you plug the cable in? It is important.
Also - rather don't use cradle, JUST the cable.

in my cell at least the number from where the call is coming from is shown above the pic of the caller if i am getting your question right.

Now tell me one thing more What is the latest
firmware version? And Which one u r using?
To upgrade the firmware thats very lenghty process in r country very slow
network internet connections so not possible
near about 7hour will take for live update here is electricity problem also
so for Is there any other way to update it?

Last step of firmware update,'Hold down C and connect to USB' Then what? Do you continue holding or do you release after a connections has being made.Thìs might be a stupid question,but when you doing it for the first time its quite daunting and you want to cover all your bases.

yeah it may be on October because traditionally SE puts a very high-end PDA phone on that month in which the Symbian Show is scheduled. we can see more improvements but i think we won't see 5Mp SE P-series. SE loves to make unique things so i think they will add features to the successor in different way as we percieve in the specs of the N95 i.e. 3mp CCD sensor instead of Carl-Zeiss 5mp(we all know CCD kills CMOS in phone image quality as shown by the stand alone S700 against all nokia 1.3mp phones. but i hope the P700 will be released very soon.
anyway, i hope newer series to be born wih a form factor like the Clie UX50 PDA which was the coolest thing i've ever seen on PDAs

Well definately using 3G is a different world than old, slow GPRS. I must say - P990 with 3G or WLAN is almost like a computer.
So - P990 can load any piece of music. I did it with 15MB, 10 minute piece - no problem. In 3G loading took maybe 20 seconds, saving 1 second. Well???

hi guys ahmed again.i m planin 2 setup wifi in my house specialy for 990. one question can i download full 5-6mb songs frm websites to 990?i curently use gprs to surf n its bit xpensive. i love surfin and chatin on 990 while i listen to mp3. guys nokia can never touch the wow effect SE makes its customers feel.i've used k and w series and love SE.

hi guys,i got a smal issue.i bought p990 week back.ihave r9ecoo1....i tried upgrading to new fw.i put my fone in cradle.downloaded the se update file.when i opend that file,it told me to select the latest fone.i said 990i.when i clicked continue it came bak to the first page.am i doin somethin wrong or is this the way 2 upgrade fw.thanx in adv.new 2 p series

To: Kenny - most likely successor of P990 will be announced this coming October 2007 (exactly 2 yrs when P990 was announced last October 2005). Hopefully, far better than Nokia N95. In fact I'm also using N95 but I think for me the best thing only for N95 is its video recording since this is already 30fps coupled with a 16million color resolution. Camera, despite being 5megapixel, I'm still not very happy because the quality doesn't look like 5megapixel. I can't see the difference between 3.2megapixel of SE K800 and 5megapixel of N95. This is the same case with SE P990 with 2megapixel and Nokia N73 being 3.2megapixel (I swap my N73 to N95). I have compared many photo shots taken from SE P990 and N73 but unfortunately more decent photos from SE P990 2Mpixel than N73 being 3.2Mpixel particularly in the evening (both photo & video recording). That's why even the next successor of P990 is only 3.2megapixel camera, no doubt far better than N95 5Mpixel camera.

hey thanks for the reply. i got my batt changed and i hope it will improve. i will also update its software.. after updating the firmware, will it erase all of my saved files on my phone? or should i back them up?
