close all applications from the task manager in order not to restart it self for ex:
when you start the music player or the control panel or anything else even if you close it, it stays run in the backround so you must go to the task manager-open and close all running apps and your phone will never restart it self and it will be a good thing to turned it off every couples of dayz to improve preformance.

the phone restarts once a day or 2 days can anybody pls tell me what can i do to stop it whenever my work is done with the phone i go to task manager and end all task anything other than that will help thanks?

thats not true. I have the latest firmware. R9ec001. I still face problems with my alarm. All the alarms that i had set up at different times since 3 months of buying this phone, goes on everyday at those particular times to when it was set. I am really pissed with the whole thing. Thats the only problem i have had with this phone. Can anyone please help.

Just upgraded from SE S700i. P990i has been very frustating. Freezes, reboots, asks for new battery. Battery runs down during night when there is no activity on phone.What do I do?!?????

How can I check what firmware my phone has? I did the SE software upgrade already but the phone still a bit slow and I can find what firmware my phone has on the phone. Please help.

Right, these two things are impossible. But I just don't find IT as a problem, thats all. I still think that the management is grt.

I bought P990 with R7 and it was a disaster. Many many errors and problems. I upgraded to R9EC001 and almost all problems are gone. The phone IS fast.

hey guys could someone compare R7 with R9 version bcoz first i upgraded my phone from R4 to R9 it was still slow i gave to service centre they downgraded me to R7 now and i think it is much faster but i think it have issues with GPRS and Alarm and Blutooth can someone compare the two in detail is r9 worry free but slow or the r7 have more problems no matter if it is fast i will upgrade to r9 ........thanx

i have owned many SE phones, until this one.SO Slooooooow for many functions,esp change of interphases,and its supposed to be the flagship model.hangs repeatedly.when playing games,background lights and suddenly dim and brighten again.I had the 910i,so happily bought 990i.Now regretting .also hard to install GPS.some friends tried new firmware but still have problems.

dude, actaully have no dubt this SE990i is a superb one, but i'm wondering how you could say the contact managment is great. maybe i couldn't find out how.
give me a clue on these two simple things then:
1. can u search contacts with both name and family name , i mean if you have saved John Smith, can you find it by typing both J anf S ?
i can find it only by typing "S".
2. can you make an item with tailored name ? i mean "Mobile(abc)" instead of Mobile(H) , Mobile(W)? can you edit these lables ?

just one upgrade is expected now which will be a major one all the retailers will be told to upgrade it and there will be a new p series or a new smart phone but this is it for 990 no new batch i hope its false lets see

the sony retailers are told by sony to open the boxes of the cell and upgrade the phone and in the box again no retailer is getting a new batch its the aug 2006. the date of import may vary but it does not mean its mfd that year its aug 2006 and there are a lot of them in singapore,india,,sweden etc.this info is from a sony person who from se orders has upgraded his whole batch of 14 cells and the same was done with other retailers. i own this cell dont get me wrong but se has stopped making it just like they did with the p 900 and p910.cont
