I originally bought the P800 and liked everything but the size. The I got the P910i because it was just much more cool and I liked it. Now I have a P990i and I have never owned a worse phone. First issue (not the most important, though) I have a Jabra JX-10 bluetooth headset. These do not work together. Worse issue; the phone frequently sends a busy signal when I try to answer a call. Last week I wanted to make a call and did so. As soon as the phone started ringing the display switched to "Idle" and I did no longer have the option to hang-up or stop calling. I had to wait until the telephone network decided my call was not going to be answered. The telephone regularly forgets to switch the backlight off, thereby draining the battery quickly. I must restart for this porblem to go away. Every once in a while the phone will tell me to replace the main battery ( got the phone in °october. I am no longer able to sync the phone with Outlook. No contacts are updated in the phone. What's more, more often than not, when I place the phone in the deskstand my pc crashes (Win XP) I realize this is probably a bug in the sync software and not the phone. The list goes on and on. Tech support on the SonyEricsson page takes about a week to respond and even then will only respond to one question at a time even though my help requests have consisted of 4-6 issues. The SonyEricsson dealer over here claims not to find anything (thus essentially calling me either a liar or that I imagine these problems) The last visit resulted in a firmware upgrade that fixed nothing. The dreadfully slow device got a little faster, but that was all. This is a terrible device. I intend to attempt to return it and buy me something altogether different. At worst I will throw the phone in the trash. It is utterly unusable.

guys is there a way for us to know if cellphones are brandnew or reconditioned in philippines. i went to grenhills last week and was shocked when i found out that p990 is just only P24 thou. i hesitated to buy because i think something is fishy about it like perhaps its recon. pls help guys.

hi i like this phone bcz of the pen,the camera infront and behind and for other things...its abou 300 pounds in cyprus.
but is it a good mobile??please those that u have it telle me plz!!

Had Phone for several months.
Contacts can crah a lot when filling it out at the start. Couldn't wait for new FIRMWARE
Got the latest Firmware.
So much better now.

Much more slicker.
the old one was so so slow, but I put up with it, cos I knew a major firmware update was coming.
So glad I stuck with it.
Still not as fast as K750i but much better than before.
Almost like a new phone with its new lease of life.

guys my phone suddenly stopped showing the display.however,i can receive incoming calls but cant make any outgoing calls as i cant see anything on the display! can u guys plz giv a solution

Can the 990 synchonize or work with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 Smartphone? I have always had problem sychonize my Sony Ericsson with Outlook too. Any thoughts, ideas on this one too?

is that going dead you're mentioning meaned the phone runs out of battery? if it is. well the check the type of the battery itself, and consult to the customer center nearest to you, else the firmware update hasn't yet been improved the battery performance which i think requires your patience for waiting until the newest firmware comes,.
i think the users must report every unusual happenings on their P990 to this site=D. please do it.

To Ryurina:
You can create Word and Excel documents. You can view also Pdf and Power Point but not create/edit. There are some nice options for creating Word and Excel. In word you can use colors, font size and thickness - almost anything You need in Word. About games - I don't use them at all... Use my P990 as a work tool + internet + pictures.

opera 8.0 internet browser. if you ask how good is it, as a desktop browser, it's the best and the fastest. if in javaMEphones, only reliable internet browser, and in P990 can be inferior to S60's web browser but is faster and more reliable for it can have tabbed sites at once.

worrying about the sftware issues has been ended by the latest software update available at sonyericsson.com. this is one of the best things about SE. they come with 1 or two high-end smartphones and not rushing to produce phones with so many features but come to resolve software bugs and any other issues after some worthy waiting. one thing i can't see at nokia's one even nowadays. a slap to the face of the nokia N-series users and the company itself.

as a business phone it can edit, view and send office files/docs. just like the E-series communicators, but this is much, much, better because of the redundant arrays of messaging input types like qwerty keyboard, flip alphanumeric keyboard with T9, jogdial, touchscreen keyboard and stylus.
it can accomodate 3rd party applications, i think the file extension should be .sisx(in UIQ version) but unfortunately it is still barely seen. but i think there's some at handango.com

i have an se p910i and an n93 but i still love my se rather than the n93 and p990 i so much better and i thnk its the best phone in the wrld though n93 takes good dvd quality videos and nice pics.
