After MONTHS of waiting for the SE W950i to be released on South African shores, I've given up, decided to buy an ipod, and go for the P990 on upgrade.
Sadly as with O2, Vodacom in SA will only receive stock on the 23rd - I AM SO TIRED OF WAITING. I hope the phone I get here will be from a good batch, otherwise I'll have to try and get it swapped out for the W950i.

sweet phone..just got it...depending on d batch u got, u might have problems with the software overall...if u have problem, loading the 3D golf game, click the task manager icon >>open and then close some programs. email me for more comments.
N/B: the battery cover is a swiss bank safe (un-openable)...take it ez else u will squash ya honey

To baali: of coz simple one, this is not a walkman phone
i've been using the phone for over a week now, not crash once..the interface is fast, when comparing with my fd's O2 XDA-mini

what is going on??!!?? this phone is not perfect yet??? i hear a lot of complain still, it slows down but still there is
to whoever upgrade their firmware pls give comments about what is fixed and what is yet the problem, did the firmware update solves anything, i hope by the time i get this phone all the bugs are fix. is it? pls do tell, all the user of this phone.

keeps crashing , e mail says "files not found ", 3G does not work , keeps switching off and saying "need to restart to improve performance " ha ha give me back my 910 or even my 900

In order to turn on speaker,before the call is answered,while the call is connecting,press more and then select Transfer sound and then select speaker, that's all ;)

P990i is available from the Orange UK website now!
Available to new customers from£49.99, but sadly not for upgrades yet :(
If anyone purchases one from Orange, can you please share your experiences with the OS speed, internet speed, battery life & type, functionality and branding (especially if they have changed the menus/software).

To LEX, if you go to sony ericsson update, and when it says your phone is upto date, then select continue anyway, then you will have all your missing files back including vijay golf. Also to get speakerphone on, wait until the middle button shows 'more', then press it twice and the speaker comes on.

the screen is wider than p910. 2mm diff in sq cm come on guys

the durability of the keyboard is much much stronger than my xda minis and treo650.it needs strong press down the keys to get a letter. my old 650's keyboard looks better and bigger,but doesnt last long at all.depend on my experience i believe p990 keyboard will last 2 to 4 year with intensive use. the only complaint is its too small,it's ok for me but definitely not suitable for giant thumbs.

hi guys this phone's camera autofocus works amazingly well.totally unbelievably quality of macro shots.i been taking pictures of normal fax sized papers containing small small small font of words,and the results are so clear words shown.im shocked!the macro quality depends largely on the flexbility of autofocus,it works just dam dam well.i got a nokia n93 and its macro quality is just crap crap!

I had used p900 , K750i and right now I have P990i . Realy am upset from this phone , I never pleave that . It very weak compaire to other . almot 1.5 year waiting and finaly what . low memory , 2 MB camera , and so many disadvantage .....

I had reading you oppinions about p990 and I agree, the worst thing they did, (SE) change the screen size. They had to find out other way to light the keyboard, You have to know that was the main reason for change the keyboard over the screen, to take the light and iluminate the keys. But the best of the p910 I think it was the screen size. I know the phone has very good features, but, I can enjoy it at 100%, because, when you record video, it's not good, the pictures are not good too, if you wan to view a power point presentation it's no possible, you can't see drawings, etc.
It sound good, all that they offer but it not work like they say.
Then I thought that the p990 would be better, but unforunatly, I was wrong,
I hope they make changes because mainly,
It is very expensive, it should work very very good, and conserv the size screen to be different or the only one.

Anyone know if it is possible to switch on the speakerphone before the call is answered. I used to be able to do it with the P910 but the only way I can figure how to do it with the P990 is to wait till the call is answered then say hold on and go into more and switch on transfer sound to speaker. Anyone bothered by this also?

I just restarted the fone and the vj singh golf game dissapeared too. I can't see the game on the preinstalled applications in the memory card. Also tried the SE support site. How can I download it and reinstall it. Thanks everyone!
