great phone. bought 990i a week back.no problem at all. everything about this phone is great.very good 2mp camera and the sterio sound of the media player has got me rocking.hey you guys out there, if you want something that has the potential to change your life, then this is it. go get it.

It is on carphone warehouse website. I got mine from e2save.com who are part of carphone warehouse. onestopphoneshop.com (alsp part of CPW) have them too..check websites..

AJ, thanks for the quick reply. I just called up CarPhoneWarehouse and they definitely don't have it on O2. Only Voda. Are you 100% sure O2 have it out? Please specify which store/location you purchased it from. Many thanks

Mine is made in France-so far no problems, its been great-oh and battery life is 2 days-thats with heavy usage (but no Wifi)-the camera is fantastic! noise free and the video recording is in CIF-the browser is very stable-i havent used Opera in 2 years and they have indeed gone very far! I got a Sandisk Ultra II 2Gb card and it works like a dream. By the way i recommend the Sandisk ultra as they are faster and consume less power. I did a test and with the normal memory stick, the phone runs for 1 day and a half. With Ultra, it runs 2 Days and a bit.
I first took the keypad off but now i have attached it again. It does indeed make life easier when you need to make a quick call/text. It also looks better as when its off and the querty keyboard is there, it looks like a blackberry, and a bit geeky..

Hiya,
I got it from O2 (Carphone Warehouse/(E2Save Website).
I called Carphone who said they have been given the all clear by O2 to sell only recently (last week). However, it appears that O2 direct want to put on thier own branding so i rushed to get the CPW one! I mean the Software at the moment is quite delicate (but thankfully mine is stable!); i am sure there will be problems with the branded ones (at 1st anyway)-my friend has the Vodaphone one (very lightly branded) and has problems that i have never experienced.
I strongly suggest you get a completely unbranded one...

AJ... How did you get it on O2 UK when O2 haven't released the model yet? I just called them and the release date has been pushed back to 16th October. Please let me know asap. Thanks

hi, ppl says this phone is having lots of bugs why? coze they want to purchage & dreaming for but they cant afort for. no doubt there is nigligible bugs but SE will improve this in there new updated verson.

I think SE must make their new series of p-series smartphone to VAIO or v-series maybe someone will say Lol!, but i dont know why, but it's because they are improving VAIO laptops from now and it competes mainly ASUS laptops etc. heard about N95, i think SE should now open their eyes about symbian UIQ's fulty, and use other alternative OSes, and at least make better design... no more 5mp cams coz it's such a bad idea to put that in a smartphone, better make K900 or anything, W990 walkman or K650 3g phone, SE open up your eyes, it's a technology battle!

Hey everyone,
I got this phone last week and to be honest, i have had no problems what so ever, not even 1 crash! I got it on O2 (UK).
At first i was very hesitant due to all the negative comments. However, what i found was a very logical menu system. Some say its over-complicated but i dont think so-it just needs getting used too.
I compared it to my cousins N73 and the Mp3/Media is a bit better than N73 (which i regard as a great phone too).
Off course this phone is only worth the £££ if you use its features-i use most of its feautures which help me greatly in organising my life.
The size is ok for a smartphone and much more reasonable than the Nokia N93-i saw that phone too-great camera but its just too big, to the point which i regard as quite silly....
Im not sure why many reviews regarding the P990i say the software is buggy etc..maybe they didnt test final production unit?...
I called O2 and Sony Ericsson technical support who confirmed that there were 'problems' with the earlier batch, hence, the delay in mass market release.
Anyhow O2 and Voda have approved it for general release and passed its quality checks-i approve it too! A fantastic piece of kit with alot going for it....

I went to a shop which is specializing in PDA phone this afternoon and I tried my dream phone P990i: nice shape, good camera, very clear & smooth 3G picture quality, perfect T9 input, sensitive touch screen but I found out the speaker quality is far behind any of the Sony Ericsson phone.
Suprisingly, the sales personnel are keep on critizing on P990i, they are strongly recommending me to get Dopod 838pro (same as HTC TyTN). Yes, the speaker is much more better when compare with P990i.
I tried to open a Mircosoft world file with pictures inserted by using P990i, too bad I can only read the wording, all the pictures inserted disappeared:(
Besides, i had been told that P990i is very slow when come to web browsing, too bad I have no chance to try due to the Wi-Fi is not functioning well in that shop. Anyone can help on this? Is that true?
Plus, msn and yahoo masseger still can not to use in P990i right?

im from india.was really waiting for the P990 from about a year and finally got my hands on it 2 weeks back for a very fancy price about $800.but not really satisfied with the phone.audio output volume is very less compared to the P910i which i was previously using.the camera is excellent no doubt and display is fantastic.the game [golf} is true to life........amazing.the browser GPRS speed is similar to the 910.no improvements.but what on earth happened to the audio output?why have sony ericsson ruined the speaker.its really sick that after paying so much,a guy using a K750 is boasting a louder sound output!its pathetic.i hope they do something in the software update.
