Wohohohoho... Nokia Fans want to compare P990 with N80... my question... do you ever have N80 ?... if not, then please buy it... THE MOST LOUSY phone that ever had... Totally regret with this lousy plastic brick but expensive Nokia toy...
4 times I need to send back to the repair center within 6 weeks from date of purchase... I tought only it was only me... but another guy already send 6 times... wohoho... now you said because of uPnP it means that the stupid win at all ?...

As far as I know the phone doesnt come with any instant messaging software but a 3rd party program called Agile Messenger is available for UIQ 3 which supports MSN, yahoo, Aol, etc.

you did absolutely right by selling your n80
its just a snail which can slide and take photos and only wake 3 hours(i mean the battery power is poor)

Upnp is newest standard and it will take a lot of time in set a REAL STANDARD in the industry man, maybe one day you can use your N80 to open your door, if the battery resist the task!!.
N80 is a POOR smartphone, it cant be compared to P990 because N80 is a piece of crap, UiQ is miles better than childish S60.
¿¿What do you do with a phone that have one day of life time??, or if you use WLAN for 20 minutes and N80 DIE!!.
Yes, N80 has more pixels in the screen but P990 has QVGA + TOUCHSCREEN, thing that nokia boys dont know.
Xpress print, what is it, here go with pict bridge.
P990 has Touchscreen, handwriting recognition, card and scanner dictionary, on screen keyboard, QWERTY keyboard, it is fast... and your glorious N80????
where is it?? ¿exist? ¿where is your turtle N80?
At least SE makes good phones, not like nokia that ships a lot of different models with unfinalized firmware and bugs, your long awaited N83 be the same case that N80, unfinalized smartphone with POOOOOR LIFETIME, a nest of BUGS... shame on you nokia!!!

I dont care about N80, I personnaly prefer Nokia N91 than N80 or P990 or K800.. Nokia N91 is the best complete smartphone on the market so far. Groove on the Go n91

im talking about UPnP, dammy!! tell which phone on the market has UPnP!! its wirless home network that im talking about... which n80 becomes a simpl wirless remote controle!!
i advise you go do some more research about bluetooth....

First of all the N80 is an embarrassment to nokia where the N73 is a hundred times better especially as a camera phone which makes the N80 a disgrace to hold the name 3.2 mega pixel phone . So definitely the se p990 is going to be better , and by the way any smart phone with Bluetooth can do all this crap that u are talking about remote control garage etc. NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT

SE is targetting a niche of customers, such as the folks who replied back to my N80 vs P990 comparaison. Im glad to see these folks spending a baziling amount of $ for such an ugly plastic brick, outdated, no hard drive, comes with 64 MB( COME ON!!!!!!!!!), Screen resolution 240 x 320 pixels 240, N80, the best screen in the market 352 x 416 pixels w, UPNP ( u can control your garage door, TV, fridge, Stero HIFI, ... ll from the N 80, it acts as wirless remote controle.. YES BABY!!! Sony NONE, SE none, Xpress print, SE none,
Buttom Line Nokia engineers are far far ahead on SE...

The truth is SE waited too long before releasing this phone. I was prepared to buy this phone at full price as far back as Dec 2005. Now, other guys have caught up with better features and design.
If you can live without a camera, check out Nokia e61 which is available for less than 1/2 price (street price $400 USD). If you want one with a 2MP camera, try Nokia e70 (street price $500). Simply do a feature by feature comparison.
Like the other guy said, don't kid yourself about this phone.

Any idea on the availability of the P990i in India ? India web site has removed the 'coming soon' tag almost 10 days ago ... but still no luck. SE India call centre refused to give any date - keep contacting the SE shops !

true enough this p990i is a little outdated as to compare with the few best around like k800i & W810i , but i believe those as a fan of the p series would really want to get a hold on it . i am just a little disappointed about the 3 way scroll instad of the 5 way like p910i . Actually if the 2mp camera & flash were to be on p910i & named it like P910i special edition , hey , i am going to get it without considering much . anyway , going give this phone a try .

hey ppl.. to be honest P990 is outdated.. 2mp camera(n80 3.2mp), no EDGE(n8o has),no UPnP(n80 has)...etc. cmon guys see the difference.. dont deceive yourself..

i'm really impressed by some of the phones' casing model design by SE (P990 casing design doesn't impressed me:). The Walkman and Cybershot concept is really great. No comment about the user friendlyness of the software as i haven't own a SE yet.
Nokia's casing design is very formal and maybe a little clumsy. N73 is supposed to be an entertainment phone but the casing design is so.. 'square'. But i like the software side of Nokia. i'm currently own an E61 (very satisfied with the phone casing and software, although more imporvement on the software side still needed).
competition will let us as the customers have more impressive products.

i have owned a n70 , then when the wonderful 3mp n80 arrived , i bought it at a very expensive price thinking that it would last me for a while ... very disappointed on that phone la ... the only thing that this n80 impressed me is the hi res screen . the rest is out ... i have been using se p series phones since the start of p800 & i must admit that i am really a big fan of it . now i am still holding back to n70 because of the apps & games available . this se p990i arrived in singapore last week & selling like hot cakes with the pre order , i missed it at the price of $1388 plus a free 2gb msduo . i am going to get it this weekend , which is tomorrow . cheers to se p990i !
