Looks like I will not be getting this phone, even after the long wait. Because of this:
"Will existing P800/P900/P910 applications run without modification on the new P990?
No, applications will have to be rewritten and recertified. The P990 is based on both a new OS version and new software platform version. Additional security requirements in Symbian OS v9 will not allow previous applications to run on the P990. A new tools chain has been introduced to improve performance in code size etc which means that the code compilation looks differently. The UIQ platform framework has also been updated to support new input modes, so UIQ 3 based applications will have a completely new code base."

I don't want all my old programs that I have collected to go to waste. I want a faster phone, but the camera is unnecessary and definitely not the lack of programs I will be able to use.

i like this mobile and it is better to have keyboard on the screen side rather than having it on the flip like the old one................
I am waiting for it to be available......

Well, I'm a big time fan of the P9xx series and I will most likely buy the p990i. I'm really concearned about competing phones however and needed some reasons to stick with SE.
Anyone know why they didn't use the M2 memory? Or why a 2 meg cam was used instead of 3.2? or why they went with 3g instead of EDGE?
I'm just curious about all these things, because they already have all this technology on all their other phones... seems like they could easily just tricked this phone out without effort.

Hi guys,
actually I'm watching the forums for a long time now and I'm really a fan of this new product. But now I've seen a new model from HTC named TyTn. There are great features in it like, EDGE and HSDPA and looks not bad.
Check it out in the internet. So now I don't know what to do?

I think this phone have become the biggest mitake in SE's life ... I mean all the other companies are selling thier phone while they are still in the "making" phase !!!!
if this phone has not been released before July I guess the phone will not sell and will never even be remembered !!!!

E-South Africa I have an Imate Jamin also.Its wonderful. Much better than my P910.The screen is 65K color but its more vivid than my P910. And its alos much easier to use than the p910. The only problem i have with it is the hardware numeric keypad missing. I wish it had that

Hi everyone, I haven't been here for about 2weeks.
I got my I-mate JAMin ,also called Qtek S200 2weeks ago.
WOW!!! Amazing!
Touch screen, thinner than my old P800, 2MP camera, closeup focus setting...zoom...video record etc.
Excellent menus and functions!
The fact that it has a BIG screen and is thinner than the P800/P900/P910 is really a plus.
No problems so far.
It synced to MSoutlook, my notes..etc.. everything is there.
Nice shortcuts for Bluetooth on and off, Silent(vibrate) mode on and off.
Customise your drop down menus...etc..
REALLY worth a look.
Buddy of mine has the P910 and he is really impressed with my i-mate JAMin.
Check it out and save yourself the frustration...I'm happy with my new toy.

the keyboard is on the screen cus to get the push email licence like the treo and if you look at the p 900 and p 910 opinions many people did not like the keyboard on the flip and they said if only it was over the main body and now where are all those people!!!?come on guys make some noise .the screen diff is only 2mm in sq cm its wider than p 910 if the se people would have gone for the screen till where the keyboard was they would have compromised with the battery life with the res they are giving and we would have cryed abt how bad the battery life was(look how the atom operates it does not have wifi or the battery life would have been much worse )i know this i work in a cell phone company assembleing them. so what se is giving us is great with only 2 or 3 mm of screen diff than the p910 and so much fetures i dont think we should cry abt it.screen is bigger than atom and 2mm in sq cm shorter than the p910(cause the screen is 2mm wider than p 910)so we look at it side by side it looks shorter but its wider. i dont think there is any fuss abt it

why is the keyboard on the screen... couldnt they put it somewhere else?... i think it spoiled the design... takes up usable screen space, they coud just have done like with the p900, use a virtual keypad.

Good phone....But SonyEricsson office people are soooo f....n stoopids. Nobody can told me when will be official launch in my country(Romania. Meantime I will buy a new model of Nokia-N73 :)

well the k800 and k790 are released which if the list on SE's webpage are chronological as it seems the p990 is next!

I'm not sure the accuracy from ponseljakarta.I read also in www.onlinephones-store.com but I'm not sure is that right?The last website say that they in Barcelona,Spain.Can anyone who live in Barcelona check this store?
