Pre-Release info with Experience from using p910(hope this may help everyone:
Phone & Screen size is perfect for view and all use according hand size and Best (holding) Grab.
3way wheel is better compare to 5 ways, since most of use are 3ways even p910 has 5ways function, the only use of 4th is when phone is locked w/out keypad.
Keypad will be useless since full funtion of touth screen gives a better and faster access of all applications or simple calls. a screen protector is a must have for scrach free and figer print free, as i have removed keypad from my p910 (slimer w/o keypad). best of all is p990 has all the latters right below the screen!
Side keys: camra key and slid locking key are great, internet key is kind of meaningless, i prefer it is a key to active voice dailing and speaker switch while in conversation... as it is littile diffical to switch during the conversation on p910; musice play key is useless if can be contraled on the new stereo bluetooth ...
2mp camera is good, but all phone cameras are not good under dark condition anyway, flash light is not good enoght.
2gb memory card is most i can think of use on this phone, i got 1gb on my p910... any more will be heavy for proccesor to handle (about 200mhz) and 'cause internal memory is not big enoght...
at last and buy point is the WiFi! that can be used on a home or airport wireless/hotspot and w/out paying the carrier who charge a high price for internet access everymonth. B/11mbps type is good, Nokia n80 has wireless G/54mbps and it will not happen for a cell phone/pda to reach this kind of high speed(54mbps), atleast not in 5 years. by the way the proccesor may not be able to handle it speed anyway...
By the way battery is 30% down (stand by or talk time )when bluetooth is allways on.
pleas add any others if you think that i miss any thing i should know or beware of.

i am currently using p910i. it is really a great phone. what really bothers me is the camera. how come nokia got better camera resolutions. i wish p990 could answer this problem. i cant wait to change my phone!

Yes, cameras should be upgraded to latest model available as I doubt the consumption would be so much greater and the fact that most picture's quality is limited by the lenses it is still true that in optimal conditions a larger picture definition is always welcome, I wish they had increased the screen size though (as opposed to its resolution)

as SE is taking so long to release this phone they may as well make the camera 3.2 MP.

i like this phone , it have been disigned beauty az usefull at least fore mee & in compare with P900 or P910 , i prefare to take this one

hey ppl,my uncle is an importer of se mobiles and he has told me this fone aint cuming to india before june.i guess its high time se ppl must inform their perspective buyers about the launch.its been since oct 2005 status coming soon end of 2005.plz se come on and atleast specify when ll da damn thing b out.its quite a long time since i hv been waiting 2.

Somthing strange is really in the specifications . it says that the phone dose not have HSCSD while i can see that this feature is in the phone in the SE wib site .so, how can this happen ??

Re: Yes, as I Have P910i 900/1800/1900 works with T-mobile and Cingular very good and I have used it in China... Great ...
And Now I am just hope that P990 come to be release sooner...

my advice for arabic user not to buy this phone unless sony company include the arabic suport and windos media player in this phone an if you compare it with i mate of course i mate is more practical than sony ericsson for these tow main reson
another issu sony alwayse ignore custmers sugestion and does not care to respond to any question for technical suport by emails
this my experince with sony specialy with sony clie palm .

As we can see the OS 9.0 has bugs in it and there is no way SE is going to release this phone with bugs in it. SE is not going to loose this to Nokia N91 I know that for a fact and just remember N91 is also delayed can you now see. Nokia has issues with camera quality compared with SE and both have bugs to sort out. first one out of the blocks with bugs are going to loose to the other in a major way. I rather SE take their time and create something that works perfectly out of the box. It is hard building something better and greater than the previous model because your repuation is at stake and they can't afford to stuff it up. Same reason why its taken Nissan 4-5yrs to create the next best GTR in 2007 now thats what i call waiting for something great.

I reseller told me te expect the phone P990i at the end of April 2006, he told me , thats what SE Told his supplier.
and it will Estimate arround €675,00.
i will certainly buy it.
