I agree with you.
See my first comment (on page 4 now), where I said SE must stop dragging their feet. They left a void in the Smartphone market and they gonna loose me as a customer. I have a P800 (2Years+3months) My 2yr contract expired already. I want a new Smartphone NOW!
SE has no current model...should I get a Nokia or iMate then?
The P990 was to be released in Oct2005...it's already 4+months old. By release date(June/July 2006), the other manufacturers would have read the specs on the P990 and improved on it, then released better phones...Why? Because they had 4 to 5 months to copy and improve on the specs.
Come on SE...release it already, I'm turning blue from holding my breath?

no brand can be compared to sony ericsson. all other phones are bull.

is this march/april release date confirmed? I am not bothered about price I just want the stupid phone! I had an XDA Exec and have now returned it and I am goin to try and be patient for a few months more so I can have the p990i!

Good looking phone.But keyboard should be inside the flip,and processor speed should be higher,GPS should be included.The phone is missing in the web(www.sonyericsson.com) maybe they are changing the outlook.the release date will be 10 march 2006. If it is true that they are upgreading the phone then it will release on 20 april

there isn't much differents on screen between p910 and p990, here is how:
up and down p990 screen is shorter than p910, but left to right is wider than p910.

it looks good but his screen is too small
when u open the flip u should have a big screen like p910 .......
i dont think that i will buy it just because of that screen

The Sony Ericsson P990i was a great phone... if you will be able to use it you'll find no problems on it...maybe for the professionals since they got more needs than non-professional ones......
But,I just wanna ask if what is the difference between the screen size of P990i to the screen size of P910i?

Well, the base speed for Voice could be as low as 54kpps, all others are for other data transfers and how much you think that n80 can handle according the processor speed?
According all tech pros, the processor and memory are the main key of better performence, what do you say about that?

Buddy the N80 has 54mbps wifi not for internet, but for network compatibility ! ! ! Have you ever tried to connect a slow device onto a fast wifi network ? It will pull your whole network speed down ! even a wired network will suffer a bit but a wireless will default to the slowest connected device to cut overheads and radio bandwidth testing. Now thats fine if you only connect the slow device to up/download something quickly, but in with the N80 you want to use Pal talk to receive phone calls and therefore want to stay connected ! I know there may never be Pal talk for the P990 so no need to worry. I still hope SE will update the wifi network speed.

Pre-Release info with Experience from using p910(hope this may help everyone:
Phone & Screen size is perfect for view and all use according hand size and Best (holding) Grab.
3way wheel is better compare to 5 ways, since most of use are 3ways even p910 has 5ways function, the only use of 4th is when phone is locked w/out keypad.
Keypad will be useless since full funtion of touth screen gives a better and faster access of all applications or simple calls. a screen protector is a must have for scrach free and figer print free, as i have removed keypad from my p910 (slimer w/o keypad). best of all is p990 has all the latters right below the screen!
Side keys: camra key and slid locking key are great, internet key is kind of meaningless, i prefer it is a key to active voice dailing and speaker switch while in conversation... as it is littile diffical to switch during the conversation on p910; musice play key is useless if can be contraled on the new stereo bluetooth ...
2mp camera is good, but all phone cameras are not good under dark condition anyway, flash light is not good enoght.
2gb memory card is most i can think of use on this phone, i got 1gb on my p910... any more will be heavy for proccesor to handle (about 200mhz) and 'cause internal memory is not big enoght...
at last and buy point is the WiFi! that can be used on a home or airport wireless/hotspot and w/out paying the carrier who charge a high price for internet access everymonth. B/11mbps type is good, Nokia n80 has wireless G/54mbps and it will not happen for a cell phone/pda to reach this kind of high speed(54mbps), atleast not in 5 years. by the way the proccesor may not be able to handle it speed anyway...
By the way battery is 30% down (stand by or talk time )when bluetooth is allways on.
