hi! i read tat p990i is going 2 ve cam revamped. is it true? reveamped in wat sense? improved focus distance? type of len sensor using? improve megapixel cam? add better flash? improve video formatting or frame rate? kind of concern fm me should se really improved dramatically on e cam quality, i'll be e 1st 2 rush 4 it!!!

Im also waiting for SE to drop this bomb. I've been a fan since they launched the P800. I had the P800 for almost a year, then upgraded to a P900 and soon after to P910i. My P910i is reaching its end of carreer now and i need the features and compatibility of this phone so Sony-ericsson, if you are reading, there are prosumers that are in need of new phones and do not want to go back to 910, let us know when and we'll be there. Great stuff though. keep it up. A loyal SE fan.

oh well that great! now they flippin go and upgrade it!!!! arghh they are so frustrating..a 3.2 mega pixel camera sounds wicked! I have a real love hate relationship with Sony Ericsson, I love their phones but I hate that it takes the a lifetime to bloody release them!
Well i still want the p990 and i'll get the so called upgrade when it comes out in January 2027 if we go by past expected and delayed release dates!
sorry for the sarcasm but im very frustrated!!! please please come out in may/june!!!!!!!

yes...it will work in north america...as long as the p990 is unlocked...just get a simcard operator and it will work..

All my life have been using Sony Ericsson, i think i love the P990 its the bomb. The O/S is okay, i think is the best presently.

To boot, the 2007 version might include HSDPA or 3.5G or 4G. Or there might be a complete overhaul of its business phones series. However, considering that P990 is only coming out almost 2 years after P910, it might take quite a while before the next business phone after P990 comes out, which might mean a jump from 2 megapixel in the P990 to a 4 megapixel. Thus hopefully, P990 will have a 3.2 megapixel camera to fully optimise sales and demand, since if camera is not an important criteria for business phones users, they might go with the M600 instead. It seems that Sony Ericsson is coming out much more new phones for different market segments because as someone did mention that it is a new company after its merger, thus for the first few years, it had originally focused on establishing its brand with good all-rounded functional phones with good features at affordable prices. Now that it has established itself, it's in a race to maintain its position at least at the 5th. With Benq Siemens, Sony Ericsson might have become more aggressive to maintain its position because Siemens had previously been at No. 6. It is also adopting a strategy which focuses on coming out with good functional phones with good features for now. So Sony Ericsson might be moving on with its progression so as to differentiate itself from Benq Siemens. So hopefully P990 will be vamped up with a 3.2 megapixel camera which can at least allow photos to be developed decently.

I think to make it a truly worthwhile business phone, Sony Ericsson would do well to ram up the camera resolution to 3.2 megapixel, especially since P990 is only coming out with the K800 or around the same time. Sony's business phones usually combines the best features they already have in other phones into one best single business phone which will be their focus for the next one year at least, so it would do well do include a 3.2 megapixel camera, since the mp3 system is already the best, having used its walkman technology sans the brand itself, to give it a neutral business feel. Either that or Sony Ericsson may actually have another business phone in mind, which might possibly come early next year which will up the ante of P990. Moreover since Sony Ericsson seems to be more aggressive now in coming out with more new phones, targetting quantity, they may come out with another anchor business phone for 2007. It could be possible that cameras with higher resolutions than 3.2 megapixel may not be avaliable before the end of 2007, so the next business phone that Sony Ericsson might have could include WiMax and a 3.2 megapixel camera to helm its business phones for 2007.

I'm looking for a 3 in 1 device, mobile, pda and electronic Bible. I'm considering iMate PDA2k or the Palm treo650, but as I read the reviews for these products im quite changing my preference.
It seems that S.E. stills the best, now I have one question, can I add an electronic Bible to P990i? meaning I will reduce my requirements into 2 instead of mobile, pda and electronic Bible, I only require mobile and Electronic Bible... Have any one try these to P910i? any information?

Hi all, just a comment on people getting impatient. Just wait, i have had a p900 for almost 2 years and went and got a SPV(an i-mate but on orange network). I urge you NOT to get a i-mate or xda. you will regret it like myself. Nothing is as user friendly as SE smartphone. I am willing to wait because i would rather them sort any software issues out than releasing a phone with problems just to compete, yes sony have left A gap in there market but it will be worth the wait!\m/

Hold on guys , This phone is going to be released next quarter . As mentioned before , they're doing some upgrade and add on some latest features . This phone will hit the market next june .

I looked for the P990i every were in the world really cannot find. in france NO HAVE in england NO HAVE in malaisya NO HAVE in Hong Kong NO HAVE china NO HAVE if somebody say he got it his a lyar or may be it is a prototype not the final version so it is sure that it is not good to use, so people if you want it like i do so wait until that SE decid to bring it out and it will be a awsome mobile phone
