Hi People..

Im a Mobile Phone Critic from CNET

My boss gave this phone to me 2 weeks ago to write a review about it.

This PDA phone is one of the worst device i have ever handled.. Couldn't even write my review properly, because it was freezing and rebooting constantly..

Bottom line is The So called PDA phone is horrible!! I rather get my P800 back..

Trust me people.. This device is competing with the i-mate K-JAM or also know as Qtek 9100. I suggest you just get that..

Very dissapointed SE!! Very Dissapointed!!

Check out my review @ CNET.. My reviews on this phone is almost done.. give me few more days.. it will be up and running on the site.

I contacted Croatia SE and they told me still don't have idea when device would be made available in Europe. They also could not confirm if two version (keyboard and without) would be released.

Good Competition for the Nokia N80..

You better watch out SE lovers..

N80 might break the P990's heart..

Tough Competition out there.. when these 2 phones comes out!!

        GOOD LUCK!!

Just to let people know Im not with Nokia or SE.

Im for the BEST.. Who ever makes its way up there 1st..

please do not go to the (trado-limited.com) site to buy anything, because it is a scam!!!!!!! please beware. If you want to Buy anything it is safer to buy from the original dealer like sony or whichever brand you want.

            Andrew

No it does not, GPS software is not already installed, but the P990 is compatible with GPS software, so if you have the software, you can install it on the P990, connect a GPS reciever to it by bluetooth, and you would then have the functions you asked about.

OFFICIAL INFO FROM SONY ERICSSON VIA EMAIL:

                  ''Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson on the World Wide Web.

The Sony Ericsson P990i is planned to be released during the first
quarter 2006. We don´t have information about the exact calendar week.
The phone will support GPS and it is compatible with a Memory Stick Pro
Duo up to 4 GB. ''

Nokia N92? Forget it! I am willing to wait.

I think the biggest draw back of the P990 are its outdated specs (slow processor in particular). The phone is almost a year in the 'planning' ! No EDGE, slow wifi (only supports the 'b' standard) and worst of all HUGE size ! ! ! If one wants a big phone (150+g) then he might just as well buy the 'One Phone to rule them all' N92 or N93 ! ! ! Also keep in mind that there is absolutely no software for the OS used by the P990 ! I think SE should cancel this one and release a 'new' P1000 with specs more in line with 2006 ! Also it should support either windows or S60 the 2 operating systems widely used today.

                      Hi Bhav,

From what i heard, the P990 is cheaper
                      P990 500 pounds
                      N80 - 570 pounds

N80 have better camera, better screen resolution but lower memory, no touch screen.
It's a strong device, I will still take the SE :)

                            omid,

There are going to be 2 types of P990
1 with keyboard, and another 1 without.
I like the 1 with the keyboard more, but the other 1 is cool as well

                              This is craziness...no offence...
Yes, NO GPS is a minus!
                              Anxiously awaiting,though...

I heard it will take this phone a long time to get to the US, but in the UK it will cost about 500 Pounds, its about 800-900 USD.
the P910 had this price tag.

I don't realy care, even for 1000$ Im still going to get me 1

Oh, there are so many opinions and rumours about when P990 is coming out, from end of January to May! Cnet Asia says it will come out late 1Q or early 2Q. If so, I think Sony is pushing out W810 to tide them through the 1Q with a mid/high end phone if P990 is to be delayed. Wonder when it will come out. Hope it's early.
