Everything is good about this cell phone. But yes this set has a problem of key pads. I am using this set for more than 2 months and my No. 2 and No. 4 keys are cracked.

Nice and good looking phone but.... here's my story:
I was so excited about the purchase of my new phone, but with the pass of 2 days the joystick was activating another functions of the phone, (internet and shortcuts) but well i made the change in the store... and then another 2 weeks passed and the keyboard cracked!! the number 2 and 6!!!
Does Sony Ericsson will do something to erase this terrible manufacturing detail?? And when??

we dont have any problems with either yellow or the black/green ones..im my self using bouth w580i and s500i Black/Green.. and i dont have any problems at all. the first w580i i had did crack.. but not the s500i. and we havent had any complaines on the latest s500i. hope this helps you Sam. cheers from Norway

I'm loving this phone.. of course everyone does.it's just so cute and lovely.
All my keys got cracks after a month or two but it didn't make any problem.

Themes at S500 is very nice. the keypad being crack but I'm satisfied have it

Hey i have a Sony Ericsson S500I and it works Just fine, actually i even had a K550I and this S500I is better in a small few ways but basically not much different from the K550I and i should know that Sony Ericsson S50I is one of the best for its time of type I give it a 9-10

I'm a cell phone technician, I would like to know what color is the phone that doesn't have anymore problem. ~Yellow/spring yellow is the phone that doesn't have problem, especially on keypad~. I try press hard on the keypad, no cracking.
To those whose keypad crack-
The phone is fragile when you press hard, and because it's made of plastic/glue. If you press in the center of each keypad, and make sure your hand is not wet or sticky. It's gonna be find. One thing when you text message, try not to text fast. This phone is not a good idea to text fast because the keypad doesn't lay flat like Motorola. Sony Ericsson is pretty reliable and last long, unless for those who text hard, fast, careless. Any question, write back here. You know my name.

I thought this phone is one of the worst then i ever seen, no special options, i bought it in high price with in one week it has been gone down 3 thousand. no infrared, no internal memory with out memory card u cant operate it.too delicate. dont go for outer looks. i dont know how this sony erricsion people cheat the public like this.

the FIRST batch of this phone did have problems, but not anymore. im selling these phones everyday, and im trying them out my self, so there is no problem anymore! and if the screen blacksout and etc, its because of a software problem, this is very natural among cellphones, even new ones, and old ones! The keypad its now much better, and we dont have any problems with those we have in storage at this point. i realy love this phone, its great! i say go for it! just because someone had bad luck doesent mean you shouldnt buy this phone. cheers

well i bought this phone last month and it is a great phone overall... but what is killing me is the keypad...
the first time, it cracked after 4 weeks, got it replaced by service center for free. then again after 2 weeks it cracked... got it replaced again... and now after 10 days, it has cracked again...
any permamanent soultion for this?? coz the fone is so great that i dont wanna throw it away!

happy, it might just be your connection. In my opinion, the phone has a great frontal design. The back of it doesn't seem to look as good.

my wife have been using S500i for only 1 month++ and the keypad for button 1, 3 and 7 already cracked and u can see the cracked line so obvius... but ll not effect the performance of the phone. just destroy the beauty of this phone. SE QA team must made a more durable keypad for the 2nd batch.

This phone is trash!!! The bluetooth doesnt receive only sends, audio cuts off, screen goes blank and i update 10 times formatted 3 times .... NO USE
