I wasn't a big fan of sliding phones, but S500i was an exception for me. The green & black looks great together.
This phone is slimmer than a razer, and as compact as a flip phone. The camera takes nice pictures.
My favorite has to be the changing color lights on the sides of the phone - the color of the wallpaper changes daily to match with the lights as well.
I have no problem with my S500i so far - my keypad is just fine. Worst case senerio? purchase a new keypad for couple dollars.
This phone is compact, sleek, unique, &light.

I bought this phone yesterday and it's awesome. I don't have keypad cracking problem. I love the everchanging theme that changes color and screen based on time and date. I love the light that displays when phone ringing.

i find this phone one of the coolest and stylish ones i've ever seen.. i might be getting it but seeing all these comments worry me..
does all the keypads usually crack even though if u did not press very hard? or isit due to long term usage then it'll cracK? if it's few months old does it starts to cracK? thanx.

i use the 580i and i have the same problems with the buttons cracking...but it doesnt affect the capabilities of this phone at all-ericsson makes some pretty awesome models

hey i bought this phone. its awesome but does not recognizing the memory card. Its first ask for phone code for formating the card but even enterin the right code it says formating failed!!
can anyone help me please

i've had this phone for about 4 months now and there is no problems with the keypad breaking. the only problem i've come across is that every once in a while my audio cuts out in the middle of a call and i can't hear who i'm talking to. but to me that sounds more like a connection problem with at&t. other then that, i really like the phone and with a 4gb memory card you can really hold a lot of music on it.

hey guys, i got this phone only a week ago. it's a beautiful phone but I'm reading so much comments now about the keypad cracking....hope i did not waste my money.

do not get this phone its garbage, keypad broke, memory my 2gb sd card doesnt even work!

To EVERYONE here!
if teh keypad is cracking, you just send it in to sony ericsson. this is a service case and they will change the hole pad..no problem! i did this on my w580i, and its realy great now. I also have the S500i, havent had any problems with it att all:)

DO NOT BUY FROM EXOTICPHONE.com I've bought the Sony Ericsson S500i from them and did not recieve it in 2 weeks. I called them and they told me it was out of stock, so I decide to cancel the order, but I was still charged the $300+ on my VISA. I tried calling them but they just told me to call back later and I never recieved my money back.

This phone's splendid and boasts great features. Screen is delightfully crystal clear and its multimedia capacity is impressive. However, it's a shame that after a while the keys start cracking for no reason; otherwise, probably the best SE phone I've owned.

I really feel in sad mood because of cracking keypad after i bought it 5 days along.
then.. within a month, 10 keys cracked and now i want to resell. how do i?
actually i m sony ericsson lover and i really feel sad for sony ericsson. because they was blamed for that product..

They have a lot of themes in this site. K800 themes works for the S500 as well and they have a lot more since the phone is out longer...enjoy =)
