I sent my phone to claim warranty for my keypad cracked problem last 2 weeks..
Today the shop called and told me that the factory told them that the keypad's not covered the warranty and need me to pay rm50 if want to replace it.. Whut da heck ?!
So just now I've sent an email to SonyEricsson regarding this matter and should receive the response shortly..
But, I think the shop is trying to cheat me thinking that i'm stupid enough to believe what they've said..
Just need to wait for SonyEricsson to reply..

hmm well i have this phone since like beginning of summer and my keypad hasnt cracked whichh is totally good : ) so id ont think it happens with every phone. and well this phone is more like a "pretty" phone than a functions phone :D but its great and it lookkkss good soo yea. and purple would be reallyy sick looking :D whoevverr likes it in purple shoudl totally get it

i bought this phone abt 2 months ago..
my ALARM is not working since yesterday!!!

Hey all I bought the green the keys cracked sold it bought the yellow keys cracked. So I'll keep it cause is just a Super Phone cause I'm a super guys. next for me is the k850. Sweet.... totally dude....

I read the review for this phone on mobile-review.com. It said that out of the green and yellow, only the green one cracks. It didn't say about the silver or purple as those two weren't out yet.

I've heard that only the green keypads of the black cells are cracking. True?
I was told that the problem is that green color that interacts with the material, not the material itself. I mean, there's multiple color choice, so does anybody has a yellow, white or purple phoone? With(out) cracked keypads?

Hey. I'm from Portugal and I was thinking about buying this cell, but the people from the store said that it was better not to, because the keys would crack. The thing is that I really love it, but I was going to purchase the purple one. Is it the same and is it going to happen to that one too?

can people with the white phone comment on how they like it? i realize that the black one has had a lot of problems with the keys cracking.

It's a very good and nice looking phone. My keys broke 3 days after first usage. Warranty covered it, but I'm not glad reading the comments that keys broke, again and again...
It costs pretty much, for phone with this big manufacturing mistake.

i have this phone and it is really really really lovely it have d best features and slim and sexy and it is d best phone i ever had sony have to come out with something better than this for me to change

sony refused to fix my phone and sent me an unbranded, unlocked W580i as a replacement, they did not provide a reason why?

i have a week31 green, and my 2 and 3 keys cracked a couple of days ago (about 1.5 months of usage)
it doesnt affect the performance of the phone at all, just cosmetics. i think the crack makes the keys easier to press actually (lol). dropped my once, didnt break or anything, but scratched my screen.
main complaint i have is that the phone feels kind of unstable when open.
overall, a good phone, it's a real attention getter... just treat it gently and you'll be fine till your keys crack... haha

i got probs wit the suppliers 2. they gave a white one. i didnt even know they had awhite one. i wanted a green one. does anyone know how to put music on it? when i press transfer on disc to phone it says no target device found.

the screen going black isnt an isolated occurance, its apparently pretty popular with sony ericsson. my phone did it (this model) and my sisters of a previous model did it. my keys cracked the week i got it and i'm not an uber texter OR caller. i dont know i need to take it and return it w/ the warranty AGAIN

The Sony Ericsson S500i is a very good mobile phone. I got mine about two months ago and it works fine, but there is one thing about it that i don't like is the material they used to make the key pad. Four buttons on mine cracked horizontally in half and more are continuing to crack. I wanna know how can I fix that.
