I got the dreaded cracked keypad issue. It is with my #6 key about a month or so of owning it. Does anyone know if Sony's warranty covers this as manufacturer defect or whatever?

You cant help but notice the overwhelming response about the keypad breaking, i was wondering if anyone in Australia has used this phone and whether or not the Australian models have this fault.

is the keypad on the white or purple version as fragile as the green and yellow one?

Thats bull about "punching keypad 2 hard" i was very delicate wiv it an never dropped it ever ten days an mine went even on other sites ppl hav same problem check it

My keypad went an it isnt from first batch thats wrong an i bought it from carphone warehouse it was ten days old! Been waiting for 3 weeks 2 get it back i want rid of the thing wot a waste of money

i bought the constrasted copper color s500i from ebay for a week now and my keypad is still in good condition. no crack at all. i love this phone alots. to avoid keypad crack, buy the constrasted copper or ice purple.

Sony Ericsson's first batch release did have very brittle keypads which did break very easily, they recalled the stock and any s500 (yellow or black) that you buy now will not have this problem. Just make sure you buy from a recognised seller (Carphone Warehouse etc) not some little back street shop who have ignored the recall and still have the first batch stock.

i bought two S500I'S a month ago,one has been replaced once,the other twice all because of the keypad buttons breaking. I am not heavy handed and never had a key break before,infact ive never had any part of a phone break. Apart from this problem the phone is great but dont expect and decent service from SE if yours breaks

this is a good phone, slim n light. keypad hasn't been broken but the phone is kinda squeaking. like the whole thing is not assembled correctly. when i press it against my ears, it squeaks. and btw, i'm not a big guy nor i have a big hand. i'm going very light with the phone when placing it beside my ears.. this is getting very annoying. i love the looks of this phone >

this phone is great. i dont understand why people keep talking about the keypad breaking. Ive had mine for a couple months and it is still in good condition.No cracks. maybe you guys are just punching the keys too hard.

I'm planning to buy this camera phone because of it's elegant style. But it seems like some of the users are having issue with the keypad. But anyways, I love the phone very much.

I've got mine for a week! So far so good!
I like it very much but the battery doesn't seem to last very much, it lasts 1,5 day... Any advice?

any1 will go n try the phone at klcc sony station b4 purchase wheather u can afford or juz compare... please go there n try. u aint lose it. aint crack unless u abuse it.

Horrible phone, had it for a month and the keypad cracked in half. Warrenty didnt cover it. I got a moto Z6 instead.

Decent phone, slim phone, good sound quality, Heat's a up a little on long phone calls. It takes a good photo but would benefit greatly if it had a flash!
