I commented last week that this phone is very nice and beautiful and now I changed my mind don't buy this phone after 9 days of using it keypad cracked by itself?!! it is obvious design flaw!!! sony ericsson what the hell is happening to your product, i think even in the QC it will be easily detected, how sad I wish I never changed to ericsson.

I think its disgusting the keys should not crack at all mines a new batch week 35 sony you need to sort this asap even my mates w580i same keypad has cracked lets see what keypad i get when my s500i returns wish id never bought the dam thing in 1st place now

Buttons r spray painted and definately made plastic in straight parellel lines when used n haste or pressed several times it cracks .Se has come to this level of face lift making it colourfull which is not needed go for classic designs improve specs esp ur video format.Get Lesson

if the buttons crack they still work! it is not a problem! you must buy this phone!!!!!!

Yes you can still use the keys if they crack. Nine of my keys cracked. I sent the phone to the Sony repair center. I had my phone back in less than a week. It has been over a month since the repair and no cracked keys. Even if the keys cracked again I would still keep the phone. It is the best looking and best performing phone I have ever.

May i know whether the keypad cracking problems is only happening for the mysterious green or it is for both of the colours? I'm considering of buying it next month and i'm not too sure which colour i should get. It seems like there are people for and against this phone so i'm quite confused now.

I have this phone since Aug 3rd and the keys have finally started to crack. I don't care so much about that but now the phone is messed up. The navigation keys have stopped working and the screen has gone weird aka black (might be an isolated case and I am just the lucky one). Honestly it's a nice phone but it's more trouble than it's worth. Go for the T650 or something.

the keypad problem is still in.
my girlfriend bought one on monday and she asked if was a new batch and the keypad already broken... she asked for a exchange for a 6300
don't but the s500 is CRAP

After two months all but one key is cracked. Sent it off for repair here the US today. Do you think they will just replace it with more crappy keys or have they solved the problem?

The key cracks through middle u get a white line through key u can use the key mine didnt fall out completely just split in the centre an sides of key popped up slightly when key was used mines now been sent back to sony ive been told 2 weeks at least

im planning on getting an s500i, but can anyone tell me if you can still use the buttons even if the buttons are cracked? i just wanna know do the buttons physically crack and break into pieces or is that the paint on the buttons just cracks?
