Hey, I rlly like this phone but I'm text mad and the key cracking problem is an issue for me. Is anyone else havin this problem or have SE fixed this fault?
Also, I heard that it was only the green one that cracks...Is this true? Thanks in advance.

i got this phone 3 days ago and it was great but now it wont get a signal so they r orderin me another .. which i think is rubbish after 3days! other than that its great... the colour changing lights on the side are snazzy and its lovely and slim and easy to use .. considering ive never had a sony ericsson before... would recommend it as it has great sound, looks and quality

This handset supports video ringtones, playing the vidio and audio when a phone call is received. A funky feature i think.
I want to convert some music videos so i can use this but so far the formats that i have used dont seem to work. Does anyone know what video format sony ericsson use?

the ppl with the cracking key problem, can they confirm whether it is 07W27 and before or are the batches after 07W28 having cracking problems as well???????

The broken keypad is under warranty, whoever told you it wasn't is incompetent and doesn't know anything. All the other models, the keypad is not covered under warranty, but this model is b/c it is a defect, email SE in your region, I did and they confirmed it was covered. I then took it to the service center again and they initially said "keypads are not covered b/c they are wear and tear". I was firm with them, and pulled up the email on the phone and showed them, then they took it in and serviced it free. Where is your location? It may depend on where you are b/c some countries are a little slower in adopting the replacement of keypads.

The handset will need to have a memory card in order for you to pick it up in your computer. For some reason the phone doesnt act like previous sony ericsson models when it used to show up the hard drive of the handset. You can pick M2 memory cards from ebay for a few pounds.
In reply to more or less everybody-
I have had this phone for around 4 days and there is a slight crack through the 8 button. It doesnt really notice but if it was to happen to a few other buttons then it probably will. I will be sending the handset back for a replacement. Other than that this phone is the dogs

I recently bought a S500i and after a few days using it. I noted that a button on the key pad crack and few days later, a few more button crack as well. I went to the service center to let them know about problem. Unfornately, they told that there is no warranty on the key pad and there is no spare part for them yet. I have another friend who has the same problem.
I am dissappointed with the new phone I bought.

Is it true that this phone still has musicID recognition? because its not a W series. and i was wondering if you can keep it on the player and do other stuff with it too like the W series phones?

Did you make sure to check your phone after plugging in? You must check and choose one of the 3 options after plugging in before the computer recognizes it. I've used my phone on 3 different computers without installing the software, just plug in, wait and choose file transfer on the phone and then "Phone Card" should appear as a drive.

when i connect my phone to my comp using the USB, it doesnt show up under "my computer" as anything. like, i cant access the phone. its like its not connected at all. even after i installed the driver, and then re-installed ti manually. the program that it comes recognizes taht its connected, but then when i go into the "disc2phone" option, it says its not. i cant find another way to get my ringtones on the phone! helpp

i use 02 since i first bought a mobile and the SE s700i never had droped calls problem but i do get them from time to time with the nokia e65.
also i turned off the 3g opn the nokia e65 as i dont live in an area with it but where i work does and when it used to flick form 3g to normal gsm this was the worst for droped calls so i turned it off
so not to bothered about 3g s its only for the internet and i never use my internet on my mobile.
the nokia E65 problems are
1 drops calls from time to time
2 somtimes the screen saver does not come on when phone is not in use the timer and date have to turn the phone off and on to get it back on.
3. its loud but could be louder and the vibrate is poor
4. dust gets behind the screen very easy
5 the cover is peeling in the cornner already
its just got to many problems for me and nokia have not even bothered with 1 update for the phone to fix the problems.
the SE s700i problems
1 emmm emmm emmm oh 1 it was a littile bulky
2 emmm emmm thats it , lol
it was a exellent phone
just hope this new s500i is a better phone than the s700i becasue its a lower model number ????
1 can you have diffrent ring tones for diffrent people to ??????? or diffrent meassage ring tones for diffrent people ???
2 does it have a screen saver clcok when the screen turns of so you can still see the date and time and any missed calls ????
3 is the screen and cover scratch prrof i mean very durable ???
