i use 02 since i first bought a mobile and the SE s700i never had droped calls problem but i do get them from time to time with the nokia e65.

also i turned off the 3g opn the nokia e65 as i dont live in an area with it but where i work does and when it used to flick form 3g to normal gsm this was the worst for droped calls so i turned it off

so not to bothered about 3g s its only for the internet and i never use my internet on my mobile.

the nokia E65 problems are
1 drops calls from time to time
2 somtimes the screen saver does not come on when phone is not in use the timer and date have to turn the phone off and on to get it back on.
3. its loud but could be louder and the vibrate is poor
4. dust gets behind the screen very easy
5 the cover is peeling in the cornner already

its just got to many problems for me and nokia have not even bothered with 1 update for the phone to fix the problems.

the SE s700i problems
1 emmm emmm emmm oh 1 it was a littile bulky
2 emmm emmm thats it , lol
it was a exellent phone

just hope this new s500i is a better phone than the s700i becasue its a lower model number ????

1 can you have diffrent ring tones for diffrent people to ??????? or diffrent meassage ring tones for diffrent people ???

2 does it have a screen saver clcok when the screen turns of so you can still see the date and time and any missed calls ????

3 is the screen and cover scratch prrof i mean very durable ???

just ordered mine from addictedphones.com; they said they're on week 30 now so it should be good.

when i connect my phone to my comp using the USB, it doesnt show up under "my computer" as anything. like, i cant access the phone. its like its not connected at all. even after i installed the driver, and then re-installed ti manually. the program that it comes recognizes taht its connected, but then when i go into the "disc2phone" option, it says its not. i cant find another way to get my ringtones on the phone! helpp

1. I believe that it has 1 stereo speaker, from my usage it sounds like just 1 underneath the center nav. pad.

2. The phone is loud when it rings, much louder than my old moto v555 which was loud, it should be more than adequate, and the vibe function is strong enough to be felt.

3. no experience with this, but my replacement pad is fine, feels stronger to say the least, i'll post if it's broken again.

4. The build quality is up to the SE standards I know for plastic phones, the phone creaks a little, the M2 slot is fragile and taking the battery off could damage the phone if you are too brazen and not finessing it off.

5. I don't know how the e65 is, but today with 2 15 minute calls I was still at 90% battery, that's with the lighting effects, 2 3 minute songs and 50% brightness.

6. haven't tried, let you know 7. same?

8. yes it is included.

9. no dropped calls yet on my part both in Asia and America.

10. Voice quality is great on both ends to my knowledge.

11. Ring quality is decent, not excellent but great still.

Hey everyone. I just got this phone. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the one I was buying has the TIM branding on the front. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the ugly TIM logo from the phone?

I'm already checking to see if I can get it exchanged for one without, but in case that fails, I'm open to suggestions.

Other than that, I love this phone!

Hi all bought a Nokia E65 about 6 months ago and i am not happy with it it keeps droping calls whish i stuck with SE.

anyway thinking of buying this phone and just a couple of questiosn ?

1 does this phone have twin stero speakers ?

2 is it loud when it rings i hate phones that are not loud is it louder than nokias or other SE phone s?????

3 i the green phone ok after week 28 for the keypad ?

4 is the build wuality up to Se or other phone standereds

5 is the battery life good better the the e65 ???

6 can you use mp3s for txt meassages ???

7 is this a better phone than the sony ericsson S700i i thoguth this was a fantastic phone never let me down is this in the same league ????

8 do you get a data cable with the phone

This phone works in the US. I bought it in Asia, brought it back, works fine.

The battery life isn't THAT BAD. It's decent, but not awesome. You can increase the life if you turn off the lighting effects, and if you decrease brightness to 50% it'll increase as well. I can get around 2-3 days average usage, about 1hr of calls each day, and 1-3 hrs of music. I once spent 2 days, very few calls but used the web for around 4 hrs each day and music 5 hrs each day and it reached 10% at the end of day 2.

The keypad does have problems, but supposedly it's those manufactured before Week 27, check behind the battery for a line that has a month like: 07WXX, where the XX is the week. I got my pad replaced by SE, under warranty, the new pad for 1 feels sturdier, no cracks yet and it's been 1 week thus far, my first pad cracked after 6 days. I'll repost if it cracks again.

I didn't need to install any software, just connected the phone through USB, and drag/drop the music into the music folder of the phone and made my own artist folders. Seems a lot easier.

Anyone who gets this phone should know about this phone's horrible keypad quality.

My keypad had a crack just after two weeks of usage.

I'm definitely very disappointed at materials Sony Ericsson used on this otherwise beautiful phone.

Any this incident I had isn't an isolated incident. Google "Sony Ericsson S500 keypad crack" and you'll find a bunch of hits.

hi, i've been having problems with the software that came with the phone. is the only way to transport music to the phone through the "disc2phone" from the cd? bc the program keeps saying that my phone isnt connected, when it is! help??

all the people who have the green version of this mobile an contact sony ericsson repair centre if your buttons have cracked as sony ericsson as admitted the paint they used on the green version reacts an makes the buttons cracked go to www.mobile-review.com an they explain the faults with this an the nokia n76,get your mobile retuned to sony ericsson an repaired by them

If there's any Singaporeans wanting to buy this phone (in black, for yellow Im not too sure).
Please hold back, wait till after Sep then decide...
Cos today I went to my frend's shop to order this phone, but he warned me not to get it cos they sent the whole lot back to the manufacturer for repair... Due to that the software might have prob.

This phone is awesome in every way. Though like ppl said, only issue is the battery cover, i had such a hard time taking it out, i think i messed up the slider in the process, now when the phone is slided in, the top is kinda pushed upwards which made a gap between the 2 piece.. . it feels kinda crappy messing it up first day... so becareful guys

very very sexayy!! i luvv it!! so totally in luvv with S500i=),im so happy i got this phone!reasonable price n the luks cant jus get any bettr, the colours are exotic,hmmm themes are awesome, sound is superb, a "truly Emotionally yours" phone!ive dumped my w850i n N95,not for anythin but for this veryy sexxay phone ;)yupp its a ladies phone, very delicate ,so be gentle while handling,HAts off to sony Ericsson for this one! in one word!EXOTIC!cheers!

I got my s500 4 days ago and today i'm going back to the store to replace it for a second time.The first one had a problem with the camera,all the pics had vertical lines and the videos after 20seconds were getting green!!! The second s500 i got had a also a problem with its camera(green sades everywere) and also when i slide it open was very loose.Even the technician advised me to buy something else.Both of the s500 i've tried were from week 24 .I wish there was another mobile that i would like it so i woulden't change my s500 for another one again.I thing i will go for a nokia instead
