i download mp3s on 2 my fne but it doesnt let me down load anything greater than about 280kb which is only part of the track, isn't there a way of being able 2 download bigger files????

The sony ericsson S700i has the best screen quality i have ever seen on any cell phone, my boss has a P910i, even that screen quality is not as good as this one. The camera is pretty good, but when taking pics without alot of light can effect the pic in a way. the mp3 player is awesome. All in all i think this is the phone to have, the only prob i have with it is the size, but who cares , when its such a good phone

i have read all the users comments and their opinions.maybe it depends upon the user itself.I trade my N7610 for S700i and i love it.the only thing i wish my S700i is to use the MP3 or other ringing tones (polyphonics, wave or midi, trutones)for messaging tone.Is this possible?? Please i want to know..thanks

i love that phone s700i,,, its not a phone wit camera but its a camera with phone... a great job by se... really.. nokia camera result is toooooo cheap..dont buy nokia if ur looking for gooooood camera and speedy functions... plz take the tour of s700i vs nokia 7610 from there u will know the difference

What’s all this fuss over the fact the shutter sound can't be turned off?
Even if it’s true, who cares? Apart from the fact that pimple faced perverts might not want the teacher to know they are using a camera in the school, which by the way is at best stupid, at worst illegal. If you can’t figure out why then I suggest you ask one of your mates who don’t attend remedial classes.
Ok now to my question. How does the MP3 player sound? Can you adjust bass treble etc?

You can turn on silent mode and then the camera sound is also turned off

Anyone having problems reproducing manufacturers claim of 12 days on standby ?? I have had a max of 4 days so far and not using it that much.

I made a mistake when i said its hard to get the memory stick!
It's so easy! just push it and the spring will pull it back for you!
enough of the shutter sound issue! my phone turns its shutter sound off in silent mode. But if your phone doesnt, have it formatted! piece of cake!
well the kb consumed by the 1.3 mp is the same as the kb/ or memory consumed by k750i. You know why? Its because of the CCD ENGINE of s700i!!!!!=] the s700 pics are super clear even if they're half the size of k750!

this baby s700i really rocks y because compare to nokia 6630,6230i,7610,6670 n s700i camera really blast me away n trust me dont ever trade for any of nokia models i mention because i used most of nokia phone i know better n mp3 n radio really a quality in s700i n using this model for 7months n still liking it n go to ur nearest sony ericsson to update ur software n record video for 1hr n play videos full screen

i cant turn shutter sound off even in silent mode...and how do you make the vidoes longer than 2 mins & full screen?

Bryja, it really depends on when and where you got your phone. There is no "original" s700... And you CAN turn off the shutter sound by modifying the software on the phone, which voids your warranty however... And you must have big fingers if you have trouble taking the memory card out ;-)

my problems with this phone.......
the numeric keys are really HARD to press.
it's quite heavy in closed position.
it's loudspeaker aint that loud..or is it? maybe my classmates are just too noisy...
the memory stick duo is hard to get! i use clippers to get it!
the paint wears off in friction.
........
but it's still perfect ...... maybe less perfect

i thought you cant turn off the shutter sound?
but how come mine does?(bought the phone)
in silent mode the phone really has no shutter sounds.
just buy the original!

I love the Sony S700i but on occassion mine freezes. The screen just goes black with a small purple box in the middle and then crashes? Is there a problem with the software? My boyfriends Sony S700i does it too sometimes. Can anyone help?

Dismas is partially correct about the shutter sound... The thing it really depends on is the version of the s700 you have. Different releases of the s700 has different firmware(installed software running the phone) and language packs, which determine if you can silence the phone via silent mode. I believe the older versions of the firmware allowed silencing of the shutter sound. I've also heard that the newest version of the firmware available silences the shutter sound, but I don't know how reliable that is... To change your firmware or disable the shutter sound...you'll have to flash your phone...

Attention mystery posters! You CANNOT turn off the shutter sound, EVEN if you have the phone on silent. I know phones. They are my job. I have the phone. It's in my hand. It's on silent. I am taking a picture... oh my! The shutter sound!
S700i does not allow you to select any tone other than those supplied for a message alert.
For further info; read your manual!

Why PERFECT?
Here are some of my reasons........
1.It is a Sony Ericsson brand....... brains both from the west(sweden)and east(japan) make this phone super smart and advanced!
2. The Form Factor! The Swivel Design is so cool that my classmates who own motorola clamshells and samsung sliders become so envious they keep on looking and staring at my phone! It sure is unique!
THe first time I saw the phone... guess what entered my mind.....
ITS HOLY! =]
3. The Imaging Power! It has effects,white balance adjuster, night mode, exposure compensation,video,spot photometry and image editor! WHEW! Who needs higher pixels? the 1.3mp is already perfect! It doesnt consume much memory and does not cause the picture to compress on the screen due to its large resolution.THE CCD ENGINE! brighter, more vivid and colorful photos! unlike those with cmos sensors that looks like there's fog!ugh.
The Flash...well it's not that bright but it helps.And makes the phone look more stylish yoo when in use.
