HEY I already bought s700 last monday night! =] August1
After three days of using the phone........
only one word describes my S700....
it is PERFECT!

can anyone help? i cant use any of my mp3s as ringtones but i can use sound effects ive recorded anyone any idea how to slove this? my aunt and uncle both ave the s700i and they can use theres but ive spoke to voda and they say sony arent allowing voda do use them as its copyright i think this is daft why allow u to play mp3s but wont allow u to to ave em as tone...... email me...

ive heard that you cant play ur video's on ur pc if trans via bluetooth frm s700i to computer...is that true?

to trun off shutter sound do u hav to put it on silient?how do u find wher the nearest sony service centre is?oh yea wats da difference between da memory card n stick?

hey guys do u kno if the new firmare expanded the memory card to pro duo. I kust want to kno cause i had a s700i but sold it becasue of that reason and bought the K750I and THAT PHONE IS P-I-M-P.

i feature out the problem playing videos on small screen n go to ur nearest sony service centre n update ur firmware n play the wholesome videos on large beautiful screen n record videos up 1hr n to off the shutter n hold c n silent the phone n take sexy babes pics n use it on ur own risk hehehehehe

Really Really great phone, in almost every way possible.
Brilliant camera and vibrant screen... is a nice size to text on, just because the number pad is fairly spread out over the phone. It has also a nice solid feeling when you "type" on it.
Easy to operate at all times, and pretty customisable too, but not to the extent that some would of liked. Very easy to connect to via dock, card, infra-red and bluetooth.
Superb phone, only fault is perhaps the annoying shutter sound that cannot be turned off, even when the phone is on silent.

attention attention to all s700 user!!!
to close your shutter sounds you just put your phone on silent...surpised no one worked that out.

sony ericsson makes good phone, u cant ask anything more from them. i've s700i, j200. my friend got k700/k750. sony is fast in it's processor(try opening a game file), fast in bluetooth, good display, good sound quality, great user interface, good video playback, etc, etc.... i dont understand how come dunno how to install games in their phones~!!! just send via bluetooth~!!! keep going sony~!!!!

I don't know...those are tough choices. The N90 has a 2MP camera which surpasses the S700 AND the E720. The camera is also supposed to rival SE's K750, which is supposed to be the best camera phone on the market today. As for the E720...I'd personally prefer the SE S700 because its design is more unique. However, the s700 is a bit bulky compared to most modern phones. The S700 also features a better camera than the E720 (arguably second to K750), which is an important factor to me. Another important factor is the fact that the E720 has not expandable memory slot. When looking at functionality I'd prefer the S700 over the E720....but the N90 seems to win out. But overall, I'd choose the s700 over the n90 because of the most important factor in my opinion: battery life. The N90 has a rated talk time of 3hrs...which is really poor, while the s700 has a rated talk time of 7hrs. That would be the deciding factor for me because the features on both phones are comparable...

but im still eyeing samsung e720 and nokia n90. ooh im a bit confused.convince me more that s700i is better....

how can you possibly turn the camera sounds off in this phone? Some reviews say its impossible to disable the camera sounds.Ooh no i cant take spy pictures then if that's the case. How come 128mb small duo cards are more expensive than 256mb pro duo cards? its so UNFAIR!

i think s700i is an awesome cell phone with excellent screen quality n damn good camera i dont think nokia can beat sonyericsson in screen quality n camera and the new baby k750i is out of the world camera is just awesomeeeeeee.sony ericsson rocks.keep it up

Can anybody tell me how I can access sound folder for changing Message Alert. I can only access message alert 1 to 6, nothing more. I want to use MP3 sound for my message alert.

to Dismas : yes, i know the reason, but in fact it's MINE handset, and that's privacy too. Samsung e 720, k 700 in silent mode, does not have this "problem". however samsung don't have vibrate & ring mode (no one know why, probably samsung too)and k 700 don't have megapixel camera! Damn it! is there а phone without manor disadvantages? is it so hard to understand what the common people want? why the advantages in one model can't be transfered in the upper class models? i'm very disapointed from all of the manufacters of handsets! I don't want highest specs on my future handset, i just want functions with wich i'm accustomed to!

The shutter sound cannot be turned off. As far as I know, this is the case with most (if not all) handsets. I understand this has something to do with privacy. It's a phone, so people might not be aware you're taking a photo. This is why the shutter sound cannot be turned off.

the only two weaknesses of it is the amount of message u can save,under 100,right? and its not easy to install a games & also softwares. MP3 n Camera are quite good,battery is strong,display cant be better,it has the fantastic animated themes.I have used it but now i want to change to E680i

I wanna know too can the shutter sound be switched off? and is it true that in the phone book you can search only by first letter? evrething else seems to be just perfect!!!
