The phone looks like it can do anything and it comes with whacks of memory, all together a great buy! but whats this nonsense about buying in the uk and retail wat wat.

Anybody who has updated the latest firmware especially those from European countries which the latest firmware I think is already available? I hsve trield Middle East Region but not available yet. Would appreciate if those who got the latest firmware to post here how's the enhancement.

AD04, 08 Mar 2010I am thinking of buying me a Satio, but I see a lot of peop... moreChances are since you are going to buy your Satio in the UK then be sure to buy it from a major retailer as I heard that Sony Ericsson recalled and replaced the older and defective models that were being sold in retailers like the carphonewarehouse. But ask the sales persons just in case.

I am thinking of buying me a Satio, but I see a lot of people talking about the "newer" and "older" versions... How do I know which are new and which are old? I am from South Africa, but gona buy it from the UK, so I just want to make sure I don't purchase the "old" models with the hardware & software problems.. Any help please?

The NEW model Satio which is the one that has all the fixes and some new hardware is a pretty good phone overall when compared to other Symbian phones and its the only 12 smart phone out there and with the new software update it should make a lot of fans happy. But I have to say to those with the older model Satio that has all the hardware and software problems, try to contact Sony Ericsson or the place you purchased the phone as you might be able to get the new model. The old model is broken and has issues and Sony Ericsson did stop manufacturing the old model and recall any that were sent to retailers. But not before many ran out and purchased the flawed phone. CONTACT THE RETAILER AND SONY ERICSSON FOR YOUR REGION. YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET IT RETURNED OR TRADED. I won't buy one till I can be sure that it will be a new model and not an old one or should a good phone come out with the new Symbian^3 OS then I'll get that. Whichever comes first!

I haven't got it either, in mid-east. Someone from czech said he has it and he said it's faster now, some new transitions added, some minor but nice changes made to the UI, camera has better quality and the video he said is perfect. He didn't say anything about kinetic scrolling. Hope it's added too!
