The only one to buy a satio today would be one who looks at and says "shiny phone!!!". There is something competitively priced called an N8.
Satio is a phone which SE messed up, castrated and abandoned.

Dirty dog, 13 Nov 2010Help plz ... got some really cool apps but they cant instal... morebrother, Satio is symbian OS and it can either be hacked, which will bypass all certificate arrors, or u have to get ur certificate signed from a software namely Signsis. u can also try to set your mobile date to six months earlier date and install.

This phone is not so good but not bad. I've ever tried this, I'm not satisfied. Slow loading, bad battery and the sound is VERY LOW. I don't like this phone, waste of money. W995 is better.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!
SE ditched ti!
NO MORE SUPPORT , NO MORE APPS , NOTHING!!!
It has a lot of bugs, works slowly and the battery life is very,very short!

If this was such a simple tech then why sony has been credited with development of this tech & why no other campany has thought about doing this or till now developed it. The reason is clear - saying things theortically is easy but to implement them technically & create usable results from it is difficult but sony has proved it again that they love to invent &
create new things.
One more thing...
Sony has also run a prototype with this technology & has been successful in implanting this tech efficiently & they didn't alter anything in the chips.
btw...
It's really funny that u r challenging the facts provided by sony & especially when they have been successful in using this tech through 1 wire only not 2 wires.

The tech you mentioned actually operates on a simple priciple: allow power and data to flow on the same line. Power will be DC whereas the data will be sent in a modulated form(like freq/phase modulation) each of the data lines will be given a freq band and allowed onto the line. Bandpass filters are needed at each block to obtain the appropriate data back into the system. This "increases" the complexity within the chips while it does reduce wiring externally. However this comes with serious problems, the chipmakers would have to make this change in their products. Consider the satio itself, Texas instruments would never alter their cortex A8 to work with this one wire mechanism.
Also all semiconductor chips require a DC powersupply which will be given from the wire and a "local ground". Hence you need a minimum on 2 cables to power the electronics in the phone.
The true benefit of this tech will be excessive miniaturization of the phone systems but wouldn't lead to performance improvements. This would mostly be used at best in their feature phones if the tech is even used.

A good news for future Sony Ericsson phones.
Sony Corporation on 20 August ,2010 revealed on Sony Global website that sony has succeeded in developing hybrid wires for mobile phones which will allow high speed data transmission & signal transmission (upto 946 kbps) along with power transmission through a single wire.
In current technology mobile phones have separate wires for transferring diff. things.
But with this new technology(which sony has especially created for mobiles) they aim to make mobile phones extremely slim ,bendable ,flexible & much more durable.
SONY also said that phones now a days use approximately 22 wires but with this new tech phones will use only 1 wire.
So it's obvious that SE will be the 1st mobile company to get this tech & will kick the ass of every other company.

this phone is amazing, the only negative on this is the battery, the camera is amazing and the screen is fantastic, i have the c905, before, but this is 3 times better.

You don't seem to understand. SE doesn't want to give us 720p so that they can sell the satio and the vivaz side by side. If satio gets 720p, who will buy the vivaz? It is really not at all better than the satio.
Also this tactic has been tried before and it hasn't worked till date. Even though SE claims satio can't do 720p, the datasheets from sony(camera sensor) and TI(cortex a8) show that 720p is well within reach.
What we truly need is a method to flash the phone with custom firmware which can enable 720p. But no flashing software exists which can flash the satio with custom firmware for free. So hence we are truly stuck.

Sony Ericsson vivaz has the same os but it's capturd HD video with 8.1 Megapixel.....
so all we need to do is repot to sony ericsson web site http://www.sonyericsson.com again & again...
i carnt do this along so pl together.................
