Yes this is an almost perfect phone on paper only except:
1: too thick - 15mm
2: 1000 mAh battery is a bad joke
3: Li-Po battery - Se can notmake is reliably
4: usual bad reception expected
5: screen technology
otherwise probably okay on paper.
The rest is unknown to us yet.
making some guesses:
- quality control will be bad
- buggy software due to hardware problems
- lousy case strength
Totally outdated by the time of release!

SE loses money each quarter. They close factories.
Some fans say Se will make this phone in Japan - I doubt!
SE could not make x1 in anywhere. HTC is making it or made it. Sales are slow.
Tell us please SE reps the facts with source.
I bet on Sagem ;)

Yes, It seems like there is somebody at SE who regularly sabotage each model.
What I don´t understand how come nobody noticed this ridiculous idea of 1000mAh battery?

my opinion
-the only way too make this a good device is EXMOR, why is SE has no words on it? yes SE not just Sony.. i want a official statement that idou will be using EXMOR.
-i dont think that device can record HD, if ever they should announce it on MWC2009. exmor can record in hd but i dont think se will make it.. maybe in idou2
-i really hope that the battery will be better.
-UI is good, i like the design, but the others?
it is just like omniahd/n97/5800.. (in the prototype)
if ever idou will have the things that you said, ill go for idou instead of omniahd for my n82 upgrade.

Anonymous, 06 Apr 2009what i mean is official.last year, sony has announced it officially that they will use their new 12MP EXMOR CMOS sensor and new lens module for sony ericsson phone but SE hasnt announced it yet coz SE will make a white paper for full spec of idou not only about the camera quality but all features of this phone.

about OMAP TI 3430 you can see the news at wikipedia search for TI OMAP 3430...
idou is great coz:
1. it has a new EXMOR sensor (of course it has super steady shot)
2. a new lens module equipped with 28mm wide-angle lens and produces high resolution
3. xenon flash (samsung only uses LED flash)
4. The highest pixel at 12MP so you can get more detail picture when you zoom it at many times than 8MP
5. also this EXMOR sensor can record 720p@30fps or 1080@27fps video + TI OMAP 3430 so yes i can confirm that idou can record 720p @ 30fps video ar least so it is better than omnia HD only uses 24fps.
6. iam sure the idou prototype battery will be increased in idou final spec like samsung did.
7. it has unique UI, the UI is very efficient and simple so you can switch media panel fast without press menu mode.
8. i saw the idou video on youtube, idou has touch floo system (scroll kinetic) very smoothly and i think final product will be greater than prototype
9. uses new symbian foundation open source.
wait till the first idou white paper or final spec is out...although a idou white paper or final spec hasnt released yet, it doesnt mean samsung HD or nokia N86 is better, isnt it ?
it is just time problem so time will tell the truth!
only a blind jelous fanboy will say the idou is bad device...

Samsung cpu was found in the ipod bt,d cpu is found wanting cos,it cant handle multimedia well.samsung didnt use it in their innov8 that is being sued for some camera violation alongside LG instead its nw using the texas chip along wit idou.samsung is good no doubt bt,nt as good as u say they are cos,sony stil invented the OLED they are bragging about wit.

It does not mean if entertainment hardware from Sony is good means everything is good. Fact is Samsung is now the 2nd biggest phone manufacturer in the world. They are growing and developing very very fast so much so that they have won many awards especially the Innov8.
I was a SE fan and user since the T68i 1st colour phone. Unfortunately I have switched over to Samsung as I feel that Samsung's quality, features and reliability is much much better. My K810i phone had gone in for repair for 6 times in 6 months of owning it. My K800i 9 times repaired in a year of usage. It's rediculous. My K850i 2 month of usage need to change the whol;e motherboard. Let's face it that SE standard is goin down. And the funny thing is that they don't have much applications like Symbian and WinMo and they breakdown much more. My Innov8 till now of usage 6 months already touch wood had not been in Service centre or giving me any problems so far. I believe it will eventually as it a machine after all but doesn't seem to be as troublesome as my previous SE phones. Just my two cents.
